I thought Shane's death was great. A total flip from the comic. In the comic, Carl kills human Shane and Rick kills zombie Shane. I dont see AMC will ever swow a kid killing a live human being. That is one line they will not cross.
Back in the day, when I didn't live 30 miles away from the nearest comic shop, I bought comics on a regular basis. One title I always grabbed was The Walking Dead. Here's my question: should I sell my TWD #27 nOw (it's going for as high as 70$ on eBay) or wait to sell it in between seasons 2 and 3?
I see randel escaping, runs straight to Woodbury. Darrell and prob Rick and a couple other will track him to Woodbury where Murrl (sp?) has been since his escape from Atlanta. Darrel will chose to stay in Woodbury. I as till think that they are skipping the prison...or maybe they find it tracking Randel?
It looks good, but someone get Ryan Stegman to a firing range and teach this dude about guns. They are shooting shotguns in the picture, but Kaine is dodging regular bullets. I don't see a single buckshot in that panel. One guy looks as if he's firing a machine gun, but he wouldn't be able to pull off that storm of bullets shown.
It's cool that Scarlet Spider is returning in some fashion. I just don't know if he really needs his own book. When you consider all the comics that are getting canceled. Does Marvel need another Spider-man based series?
i agree. with the cancellations of X-23 and Daken, can marvel afford to release new titles? I say this could be based on the hype of the upcoming Amazing Spider-man movie. Could also be part of the reason marvel didn't cancel some of the lower selling Avengers titles instead of X titles. We're not due for another X movie for a few years. I Imagine that these new spidy titles (Venom, Scarlet Spider, and whatever else they pump out in the next month) will last their respected 24 issues in their runs....just enough to crank out a couple paperbacks. I won't be surprised if we see a second Ghost Rider mag pop up!
I've been a huge fan of the Walking Dead comic since issue 26. I picked up the first trade from the local comic shop and I was instantly hooked. I was super jazzed to hear that AMC was introducing the series to television viewers. I was super duper jazzed when I realized that the television show was a somewhat different story than I read in the comic. I'm not jazzed at all on how slow the show's story seems to be moving. It seems to me that the comic story went at a much quicker pace than the show's. It's bugging me. So it's official, if something doesn't happen in next week's episode besides Lori drama, I'm gonna have to say that I think the comic book is soooooooooooo much the better story.
What does the Vine think about this? What do you prefer? The comic or the show?
@JediXMan: yes I agree, it's too soon for cable to come back. If it is Cable, then his death and the end of the Messiah Trilogy was pointless and has even less impact than killing off beloved Nightcrawler only to replace him with his Age of Apocalypse counterpart. I guess what I'm saying that Cable death was too climatic to not even matter a year or two later.
