@Shadowsnake89: Amazing Spider-Man #238-239, #244-245, Spectular Spider-Man # 85, Amazing Spider-Man #249-251, #259-261, #275-277, #279-281, #284-289, (Personally, I am Not really much of a fan of the peroid Jason Macendale became Demonic) Amazing #312, Spider-Man #6-7, #46-49, I find are decent stories with Jason Macendale Hobgoblin, alongside his terms with the Sinister Six / Four / Seven ( Amazing Spider-Man #334-339, Spider-Man #18-23, Spider-Man: Funeral for an Octopus #1-3, Spider-Man Unlimited #9 ).
Followed by Spider-Man: Hobgoblin Lives #1-3, Spectacular Spider-Man #259-261, Spider-Girl #96-100 was a personal favorite of the MC2 Spider-Girl vs. Hobgoblin battles.
Back in 2004, there was a "dark, edgy, graphic" Spider-Man title: Marvel Knights Spider-Man- while thank god it wasn't as "Knights" as Daredevil or Punisher, atleast they had the courtesy to label it right beforehand.
Past months, as of "Amazing Spider-Man", rated "A": - Peter Parker, "drunk sex" w/ Michelle Gonzalez, a total b**** roommate - Spider-Man having sex with Black Cat, lights off, "can't see face" - Rhino, "losing his humanity", after "New Rhino" killed his wife, followed by him ( and rather graphic silhouettes) murdering him - Lizard, killing his own son, Billy, followed by " turning masses of people to basic reptilian instincts which includes crime, violence, sex, rape ("MINE!") - Mattie Franklin, Madame Web, "sacrificial lambs" to ressurrect Kraven, followed by killing Vladmir (again), "wife", Sasha, Aloysha (implied)
I now find it surprising it's actually coming outta "Spider-Man", the main one, not "Marvel Knights", "Noir", whatever. Infact, I find them far worse than "Knights Spider-Man". It seems that things are only getting darker and darker, worse and worse.
Ha Ha Ha, ve-ry funny. I'm serious. It's been farrr from "Amazing" anymore, for quite some time! In my, and hopefully, many others, opinion, Spider-Man shouldn't be like this!
Seriously, for decades, traditionally; always thought it was Spidey who would be the most child-friendly, accessible character of all superhero comicbookdom. Of recent years; alcohol, sex, death, and the second next to last issue; a flying pregnant goblin woman ( panels even "flash" she clearly wasn't wearin' anything underneath that hospital gown!) in front of supporting cast & foes!
I understand, there's been titles like "Spider-Girl", "Ultimate Spider-Man", " Marvel Tales / Adventures Spider-Man" lately to cater the Spidey-interested youth, but still, if ever I see a kid pullin' an Amazing off the racks in a comicbook store, of course, the father wouldn't know the son / daughter shouldn't read it, as chances are there are no scantily-clad heroines on the cover, but I'd warn em'! What has become of Spider-Man's main title?
Unless you request another form of "Marvel Zombies", "Legion of the Undead", She-Venom, Anne Weying, has been dead, for quite some years ( Suicide, Amazing Spider-Man vol. 2, #19) Still shaky from her previous experiences with the Venom Symbiote, what an occassion it was for Spidey to wear his black cloth costume once again!
