Penguin.

Ra's? Sorry people, he's a great, although boring, character and all, but there's like one Ra's story over the years, between every six Jokers, three-four Riddlers / Two-Faces / Scarecrows, and recent and for several years, seven-eight Penguins. Even Clayface, whom I definitely would not say is Bats' greatest foe, due to his brutish nature, like Penguin, has lately been seen almost every month somewhere, while Ra's? Until Batman Incorporated 10, last seen to my knowledge, issue 2, and did not do anything remotely menacing to Bats in both!

Sooner Lois and Clark gets back together, or at the very least, ditch Wonder Woman back to her own magazine, or Justice League, as TEAMMATES, EQUALS, the same treatment as Batman or Flash, and as for douchebag Jonathan Carroll, quickly write him out, like a BAD DREAM, thus, even if slowly, restarting Lois and Clark again at earnest, ONLY then will I buy Superman / Action Comics again.

Cavalier is already cool - YOU just "don't like him"!

He's a CLASSIC, otherwise, what other explanation explains his consistent history over the course of near SEVENTY years?

IF YOU DON'T LIKE THEM, DON'T READ THEM!!!! That is it!

Just because you hate them, doesn't mean others (at least I hope) hates them...take myself for instance. Not everyone has to be dead serious, all dangerous, super scary, strategic to the teeth enemies. In fact, it would be BORING if everyone was.

CHEERS to diminuitive, roly-poly, beanie capped wearing, identical cousin diversity!

He should be allowed to finish his Superior Spider-man arc and place Peter back in his body, after that I think his run should be over. It's been a fun ride, but it seems that after this arc Peter's life is going to be right back to where it was prior to Big Time.

Prior to ONE MORE DAY should be more like it!!!! Bring back Mary Jane up front and center, my chances of reading Spidey again may be 50%, re-attach "Parker" to her name, and it will be 100%.

OK, count my participation in end for this Top 100 list now. Any list of "Top 100 Spider-Man" that even has ONE entry from 2008-present, unless it's Ultimate Marvel / Marvel Adventures / Spider-Girl / Mary Jane / anything but BRAND NEW DAY SPIDER-MAN, is EVIL, and in no list of mine.

alright. if that is what you want. It makes no difference to me. "Evil" is something I haven't heard these lists be called (personification! cool!)

but seriously I invite you to rethink just simply giving up. So you dislike some of the stories which have been nominated. Great. It's wonderful to hear people's opinions and that is what these lists are about: opinions! Right this very moment you have the chance to let your opinions be heard. This is the time to choose: do you want to simply give up or do you want to make this list your own? I leave it up to you. this is not simply "poet's list" or even the 20 nominator's list. it is COMIC VINE'S LIST. I have never once in the many lists I've hosted forced anyone to participate and I never will, but right now you could make a difference if you wanted to. You can persuade people not to back the stories you disliked and to cosign the ones you did.

We'll be open for another week, so you have your choice. remember none of this is permanent. we have more than 100 stories for a reason. for people to have a choice. so why don't you not give up so easily when you can make a difference?

Very well....before Batman, Spidey was, admittedly, my favorite superhero for a little over a dozen years, 1995-2007, that end date for obvious reasons.

Let's see....some more personal favorites:

Anyone out there loves Spider-Man: Marvel Adventures?

For a time, that was the last Spider-Title I've truly had fun reading! Old school simplicity of "done-in-one" adventures, against "old school" villains, and best of all, Sophia Sanduval, Chat!

Now, now, that was a different Spider-Man universe anyways, Petey perpetually in High School, and Gwen and a Captain George Stacy (with thirty years shaved off him in appearance!) alive and around! Mary Jane may not "exist" in Adventures, but in her place in the girlfriend department, "Chat" made up more than enough! Kinda like a "Squirrel Girl" of the Adventures-Verse, only she can communicate with any critter, whether commonly be dogs, cats, birds, more, even siccing them against whoever is picking on her guy, whether as Peter OR Spider-Man (yes, she knows his costumed identity!). Not a "gorgeous knockout" like MJ, Gwen, or any other common Marvel female (Jean, Sue, Natasha, Medusa, ect), but then again, not everyone has to be! She is still just "cute", and with a bubbly, optimistic, supportive, far from plain personality, although the fandom may be "divided" on her, possibly find her "annoying", I honestly think, "how can anyone NOT love her?"

Nominate:

Adventures no.4....With Spidey battling Bullseye, "stuff just got real", in the death of.....Chat's owl. Hey, if someone knew "Flapper", even as a "friend", anyone, or anything, can be personal. Besides, the bird's saved Spidey's life from impalement of Bullseye's spike anyways!

Adventures no.11....Yes, Lizard in that comic more or less looks like a Killer Croc, HUSH-beyond, in a labcoat, but still pretty monstrous! Cute moments between Peter and Chat, him battling Lizard, and her, fighting off the rakes-and-club carrying townspeople, threatening to off the monster, with her own swarms of birds, and reptiles!

Moments that cracks me up:

Chat (to the townspeople): Everyone! Calm down! The Lizard isn't dangerous

(Turning head to Spidey): SPIDER-MAN! BE CAREFUL! The Lizard's DANGEROUS!

Aunt May: "Oh, I'm Peter Parker, and me and my not-at-all that serious girlfriend are taking vacations together"

Peter: Aunt May!

Finish this review off, with it's just plain touchingly humanizing, that even Peter admits, even after all the battles against Doctor Doom, Bullseye, Doctor Octopus, that it's nice to "find a strong shoulder where he can rest his head", napping on Chat's.

Cosign:

Amazing Spider-Man 248....Kid Who Collects Spider-Man, although Thunderball attempting to become a one-man Wrecking Crew was pretty good too.

Spider-Man Blue....sixties style battles against Lizard, Rhino, Kraven, Vultures...but in better coloring!

No, I would say Doom would be at least No.4, the three ahead of him are:

1. Joker

2. Lex Luthor

3. Darth Vader (although may be inspired by Doom in creation).

@ngroove: A tad unfair don't you think? OMD, Dying Wish and Superior Spider-Man I get but I liked Slott's run up until Dying Wish.

Queseda may have have started with his "anti-marriage" crusade, Slott continues it. Sorry, but Spidey is complete crap to me, past five years, until all is corrected between (real) Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson (PARKER again, hopefully sometime while I'm still young) again, IF it lasts a lot more than just a "casual date" before Spidey pulls his "I can't be with you as long as I'm Spider-Man" Bull-Crap! Queseda and Slott had "trolled", claiming in solicitations, them back together at least three times between "One Moment In Time" to "Superior Spider-Man" (for at least A Peter Parker), only when it comes, to pull darn "ship-teases", and even one "Monkey's Paw" each darn time, which only infuriates me more. Yet, I can NEVER express it on Comicbookresources, as long as "Steve Wacker" and "Dan Slott" hovers around there, all the time, sarcastically snarking all whose views are outside of their own.
