Hellboy.
I'm a big Guillermo del Toro fan, and when he made the first Hellboy movie i picked up the first few trades, then went back and bought all the trades. Enjoyed them all and wanted more comics, went and bought watchmen, batman year one, dark knight returns and sin city collection in one day, and i was hooked.
I still love Hellboy and all the Mignolaverse books and have now got my girlfriend into them.
I also read a lot of Image and DC books (only a few marvel- hawkeye, ms.marvel, moon knight.)

A recent one that I really loved was from Legends of the Dark Knight #9. in print on Aug 2013.
called- Dreaming He Is A Butterfly. probably my favourite Scarecrow story now.
