1. Beta Ray Bill

No Caption Provided

Godhunter was amazing! Before anyone says "Bill can't take on Galactus!"Yes, I know. It was just interesting watching that overpowered abstract entity be threatened with death(having no weaknesses makes for an uninteresting story).

P.S. I wish they had Beta Ray Bill fighting more cosmic entities and protecting his people like Thor does.

2. Batman

No Caption Provided

Batman and the Insiders, Hush(impressive even though it was written by Loeb) show how complex DC characters are, with a dark side in unknown situations yet still with a sense of humor.

3. John Stewart

No Caption Provided
He has a complex relationship in dealing with his past(wanting to help others) and being too much in the shadow of Hal Jordan. All in all, Geoff Johns did John some respect having John be one of the most respect Lanterns, having him being able to override his ring, and, at times, being more of a threat than a pissed off Gardner(who was chosen before John).

2. Dex's Starr's origin story:

He was originally created as a joke by comic book artist Shane Davis, but he was fleshed out into a full-fledged character due to positive feedback from writer Geoff Johns and the Green Lantern fan community.

There's more info here.

"The red power ring was attracted to him by the rage he felt towards the thugs that tried to throw him over the bridge and the robber who killed his owner. As a Red Lantern, he makes it his mission to hunt down and kill this man. Dex-Starr is also able to form rudimentary sentences in the last panel because the Red ring bestows him with a limited sentience and projects his thoughts."
