My 1st Blackest Night review 0

Review:    I'm very late with this issue, but I like to move at my own pace without getting hyped over an event with everyone gossiping over and that it would be average if not suck. Fortuntly, this was WAAAYYYYY better than what I expected. This was a great way to start a story that has everyone in the superhero community moarning their loved ones, friends and families that were murdered and those who sacrifice themsleves for the greater good. It was astonding to just see Hal Jordan and Barry A...

Batman issue 693 0

Review:  I don't how the hell Robin just appeared after not showing up on the last issue, but it's great to see him with his "eager to kick some ass" attitude and all. I like his new outfit BTW. Dick intend's to a party to celebrate the New Arkham Asylum which a false Bruce Wayne has funded. There, Dick meet's huntress to keep an eye on thing's until Oracle contact's her to check on a suspicious girl. After all the commotion, Dick/Batman tracks down the girl to Devil's Square and ask a kid about...

Dick is Batman? Sweet!!! 0

Review:  This was a awesome, if not decent, Batman comic I've read in a while.  While I was skeptical of the fact that Dick is now "THE NEW BATMAN", who better than him, besides he was once Batman before during Bruce's absence. I like the idea of not having Robin in this issue so we can see what Dick can do, and though he was metioned, Peguin wasn't present either, so why was he on the front cover? Despite Dick doing a great job as Gotham's Protecter, there are some minor nit-picks that I've not...

Me and the Ultimate...Be in action!!! 1

Review:   Well, it's been quite a good while since I did a comic book review just before the holiday's... When I first learned of this on wizard magazines, I wondered who the hell is this kid with the claws and what was this all of this about? After several promo's were released you kinda get the idea of what was happening, and it got me curious enough just for me to buy it, and after reading it I'd thought it was a pretty good story.  Ok, first off this takes place in the "Ultimate" Universe. I...

Hey Snake Eyes... Yo Joe!!! 0

Review: An Russian terrorist group has taken over an Hydro-Electricity Dam claiming the it's causing harm to nature. They demand for it to cease operation or they'll kill the Diplomats, hostages, and blow up the dam and drown thousands. General Hawk respones to this emergancy by sending out someone to infiltrate, eliminate the enemies, and save the hostages and the dam. That man is Snake Eyes. Snake Eyes does his best as he uses his wits and ninja skills to take out the Russian terrorist's with...

This...Kicks...Ass...Go Get It. 0

Review; It's nice to take a break from superhero comic books, particularly Marvel and DC, and try to find something new that's worth your time and money. Well, I've found a comic book that fits into that category. Though it is superhero-isc, it's more about comedy and adventure than just your typical "hulking beat 'em up, multiverse crossovers, superhero team go bad if not dull, traggic deaths then return pointless characters, and badass loner in every issue at different periods just to my a bu...

A classic X-Men comic so long ago... 0

Review: It's been about more than a decade since I held on to this. Wow. Depite that this is a old issue I still found it enjoyable, and I only got it because of the front cover of Cyclops, who seems to be in agony. You could say this was my first X-men comic, heh. I don't know what happened previously, but Apocalypse has contained some of the most powerful Mutants (Xavier, Cyclops, Phoenix, Storm, Iceman, Cable, Sunfire, Bishop, Rasputin, Magneto, Polaris) in orbs to absorb their powers throu...

...Who ya gonna call? Code X-Men!!! 0

Review:   Just a few words to say about it: "THIS ISSUE IS FUCKING ASTONISHING." Brand (director of SWORD) and party infiltrates a space ship that's full of aliens and escapes, only for her ship is damaged from an asteroid and is in earth's atmosphere. Who's gonna save her from this situation? Looks like this is a job for Superman...But he's in DC. But there's the X-Men. Throughout most of the issue the X-men move their asses to the X2 (which was build by the best brilliant scientic minds in jap...

The origins of Madame Xanadu 0

Review:  Egh! My main attempt was to learn more of the great Madame Xanadu's origin story. I've known her by the name of Nimue, had some magical adventures with The Spectre and The Sentinels of Magic, assisting Enchantress, warning Mary Marvel, etc. In this story, Nimue is asked by clothed visitors to stop her sister from corrupting the King, with didn't went well, made out with some Wizard, and is harassed by a spirit that shows her the future of the fallen Kingdom by war. Though I do like and...

It's a crisis alright!!! 0

Review: It's just about Darkseid and the Monitor playing chess and gossup about the good ol' days just to kill some time. REALLY.... Okay, there's more to this than that.   Darkseid wants to recreate reality, while The Monitor wants Karate Kid to cause an uprising of an Ultimate Pleaue. Speaking of Karate Kid, he's near to his death from his wounds. But The Atom refuses to help him but rather kill him because he's carrying a virus that is fatal to the universe, should he return to earth, which ...

Here comes the new Fantastic Four!!! 2

Review:  This was a very amusing, interesting what if story, no doubt about it. I never was a Fantastic Four fan, so it wasn't too much of a shock that they were killed and that well known iconic heroes became their replacements just for the sake of honoring their names. This was also the first time I get to see Thanos using the Infinity Gauntlet to annihilate an entire galaxy with just a single thought...NOW THAT'S POWER!!! But the man with the last laugh was Wolverine, who was definitly an ass...

Zatanna vs. Mary Marvel... 0

Review:  Seeing Zatanna and Mary Marvel having a magic battle was the ONLY reason I brought this book. Mary gets pissed off of Zee when she refuses to teach her magic until she read some anciet books to control them, and attacks Zee to test her magic. But Zee seems to be holding back her power to not harm her... Why doesn't she kick the brats' ass already? Jimmy try's to join the Justice League, but to no avail (with a name like Mister Action, who would take you in). Meanwhile Jason, The Atom, D...

Shadow Cabinet??? What the hell-- 1

Review:  First off, it's nice to see Dr. Light/Kimiyo back again, ever since (Evil) Dr, Light stoled her powers on Infinite Crisis she's been drop on the dumps lately. There's a moment where Roy and Kendra make love, but ends badly as Kendra still has some affection for Carter Hall. The JLA gets a distress call from Kimiyo, but turns out to be a trap, and then encounters the Shadow Cabinet??? Ahhhh....Eh...I have no idea who the HELL these people are. Though they seem interesting characters, ess...

It all began with The Big Three... 0

Review:  This shows you the history of Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman over the years they spend together as members of the Justice League, from the Golden age, Silver, Bronze...and now the Modern age, where they're about to decide who'll be in the League. The time period from each page seems to be mixed around, so I don't actually know which events happened in order, also each page is drawn by a different artist, which I thought was cool. There are some moments that are not recognizible but ...

Jackpot, Spider-Girl, Spider Ma'am?, & a kids' fairy tale... 0

Spoilers / Review:  'Exit Interview'. The first one explains about Jackpot's origins and her whereabouts; who she was before, how she was associated with the first and became the new Jackpot, and what becomes of her. She talks about her life with a bartender, who adviced her to put Jackpot to rest and be who she is now. I want some lemon cake too!!! 0

Spoilers / Review: I've gotten' this on Free comic book day sometime around May. So yeah, it was for free =D.   Peter is about to hand home for Aunt Mays' birthday when a new villian (Overdrive) pop's up, with a sweet ride, and starts trouble in the city. It's up to Spiderman to save the day, despite that people still hates him. Whats funny is that Overdrive is nothing more than a criminal wannabe who's actually a hardcore Spiderman fan. Jackpot, a new heroine, shows up and saves a civilian duri...

Wonder Woman has her own movie? Really? Then let's-- Hey... 0

Review:  What's funny about this issue is the conversation between Hippolyta and Thomas/Nemesis after he and Diana arrive on Themyscira, asking about their relationship and consider's him an amazon by giving him the title guardsman. She literaly creeps him out by having him feed one of the Griffens, and ask him to make babies (which Diana refuses). As Diana goes to hollywood to meet with the staff that are involved in the Wonder Woman movie, she gets pissed off of how the way they're executing i...

Diana and the Claw. 0

Spoilers / Review:  Yes, this is my first wonder woman comic. Yes, I brought it because of the front cover. No, it's wasn't my taste, but it was  good just for browsing. Director Steel tells Nemesis that Diana Prince and Etta Candy-Trevor might be amazons while conspiracy with Gorilla Grodd, forcing him to "keep an eye on her", and just when he bust into her home thinking that Grodd was inside, were actually the 2 White Gorillas from Gorilla City that acompany Diana. Meanwhile, Diana and Beowulf...

An all new Superman series!!! 0

Review:  Since this is an alternate universe from the current Superman/DC universe, things are a little different here. WE ALL KNOW about Superman's origins, so it was a good thing that they explained it all on one page, and then have him stop a creature from tampering with the sun after the public has a global water shortage , a ploy from none other than Lex Luthor. After being released from his sentence by the government, Lex is determined to kill the Man of Steel by any means necessary. What ...

Spider-man's a badass!!! 1

I was shocked to see Spiderman in a 1930's era with Osborn running the city. I later ealized it was a alternate universe, which makes sense. Rather than the usual Red and Blue, Spider-Man dons a black mask, gloves, and trenchcoat (not the symbiote nor the none-living black costume) which I thought he looks really cool. After he save Aunt May from Toomes (who was upset that he shot and killed an unarmed man and doesn't want to live in a place where violents is necessary) he finds Osborn who has J...

I HATE SPIDERS!!! But not Spider-Woman. 0

Review:  I always wanted to know of how she gained her powers if she wasn't related to Spider-Man, but NOW I know. Jessica's hit by a laser when she was her mother's was pregent. What sucks is that her father, whos a scientist, gets obssessed over his work and experiments on Jessica, but get's killed by her when he attacks his wife for protecting her. Of course she then is taken in by Hydra, so I'm guessing there gonna train her to become a weapon and send her on missions to do their bidding. So...

Batman a murderer? No, really? 0

Review: To start things off, this was an pretty old issue that dates back to 2002 (but not as old as that X-men issue #66) The front covers always get'cha into buying these sorta issues, but when I saw Batman ready to make a kill just before Superman's trying to stop him, I thought to myself "has Batman finally lost it."  After reading this several times, I found this enjoyable. The first thing I've notice when looking at it was that THERE'S NO NARRATION AT ALL, except at the end of the issue wh...

He's BAACCCKKKK!!! My first Captain America issue. 0

Review:  This one is a Must Buy. The front cover of seeing 2 Captain America's is what got me into getting this issue. I love the impressive art work (such great atomsphere) and how the dialouge was executed, esspecially the converation with Sarah and the other Avengers. Whats even more impressive is that their two Captain Americas in this issue (Steve and Bucky). It's get to see the original Captain America back in the game. but I knew he'd be returning somehow  sooner or later. It seems that h...

The Hulk Lashes Out 0

Review:    The original X-men mourn and fight against eachother over Professior Xavier's comatose. They later use a Mind-Prob to wake him, but he insteads warns them about the Hulk. Thinking Banner is the key to save Xavier, the X-men confront the Hulk in Las Vegas, and after an incredible battle, they get the device to save Xavier.   This was part of the X-men vs Hulk issue I brought.  X-men issue #66- The Mutants and the Monster... To be blunt I don't like reading old comics because of the 70'...

Aquaman's a dick, Bruce still got game. 2

Review: I was fooled into picking up this one because of the pretty legs on the front cover. ^-^ I found this one good,  despite the lack of story depth and some ass-whiping action. This is only part 3 of the 6 parter, so I don't know what's going on in this story arc. Some psycho get's Batman tied up just before Robin intervenes. "Bruce Wayne" travel's back and forth, from St. Cloud where he spends some time with his rich girlfriend 'Silver', who knows he's Batman, during the day. While at nigh...

3 Wolverine stories in one issue. 0

Review:   This one shot issue was ok for me because; One it was my first Wolverine issue, Two you get 3 stories including Woverine Ultimate Origins prveview, and Three...IT'S WOLVERINE DAMMIT. The first one is more of a hunter and hunted thing. I love the art design, Wolverine just looks so vicous with those glowing eyes. I like how they made everyone's accent incorporated in the dialouge, because Logan is in New Orlands and their accent is a bit awkward. The second story involves Logan in Thail...

Let's go to chinatown, folks!!! 0

Review:   Okay, I've brought the first two issues at a converntion at a low price out of curiousity and have been "AWESOME-MIZED" by the front cover. I don't entirely know why Logan had to go ta chinatown of all places, knowing full well that he had bad history there. So it's not much of a surprise that he get's attacked, and is stabbed by some dude name Lo jun (he looks like that master from Kill Bill 2) His ex-girlfriend, who is about in her 50's or 60's since it's 50 years later, is the leade...

Curiousity did killed the cat. 0

It's just as what every reviewer is saying about this issue; Marvel Divas IS a parody of Sex in the City (not my type of show BTW); 4 Gals in New York talk about their daily lives and relationships, and are now hanging out together doing women stuff like going out to movies, fighting skrull, etc. Though Aguirre-Sacasa was accused of misogyny (hatred on women and girls) I didn't felt that way per se, but more like these ladies were trying to take charge in their lives and that 'certain obstacles'...

Not enough Elektra 0

Yes, Elektra did witnesses a mystic ceremony that russurrects the died, but then puts up with a typical japanese origin story that takes place in, yes you guess it, "Feudal Japan". Nothing much though; an orphan get's taken in by a Sensai and train's him in the art of a samurai after his mother was arrested by the authorities for killing a customer (the mother was a prostitution), but the boy killed him and she took the blame for it, thus saving her son. Wonder Woman...BEATEN!!! 0

I'm not into Wonder Woman comics that much, but this was a bit of a sad issue for me. Wonder Woman was beaten into a bloody pulp by Genocide, taken her Lasso of Truth, and is causing havoc around Gotham. Donna is telling Cassie to stay strong as an Amazon should Diana die, they along with Nemesis take her to Themyscira to heal her with the Purple Ray. Meanwhile at The Departmant of Metahuman Affairs, the current J.L.A. have their hands full against Genocide, and Red Tornado give punched through ...

Battle of the Ms. Marvels 0

I like this issue so much; I love the art design, the storyline, and conversation between characters, Carol Danvers (who's calling herself Catherine Donovan, a screenwriter) inner thoughts, the suspense, it was all good. Karla (Moonstone, who is the current Ms. Marvel) can't help but feel something was wrong when Ms.Marvel getting hit by a pumpkin bomb with ease, telling Osborn something was off and was eager to kill her every chance she had. I loved the part when one of the soldiers was being a...

Wow, what an amazing issue...NOT!!! 0

I only picked this up because I wanted to know more about Logan's past, besides the usual stuff with Alpha Flight, Weapon X and so on. But what I got was Wolverine having a run-around in the White House and had a Secretary (who was a mole in the higher up's) killed by a dumb robot. The dialogue was dull, Wolverine looked like an Old Granny with that face, in fact EVERYONE had the same face design. S.H.I.E.L.D. didn't do much, and who the hell was that weirdo at the end of the issue? The only int...

X-Force, you mean it's not X-Men. 0

This is my first X-Force comic, so unless I have the previous issues on X-Force, I don't know much of anything that's been happening before this. So far, Stephen Lang and Bolivar Trask has formed The Murant Response Division in an attempt to monitor and deal with mutant threats, which doesn't convince the U.N. 2 mutant were captured and are set up to attack civilians as a way to prove Lang's point until Wolverine and Co. rescues them (Wolverine really cut the SHIT out of them). But Surge was go...
