Clark is all-around more effective with his abilities and I don`t think Hulk has the feats to say that he can compete.

If Thor`s durability and stamina was nerfed I think Kratos would take it handily due to versatility also their roughly around the same speed level with Thor edging him out by a small decent margin.

@monsterstomp: Just Curious but......

  1. Are you going to be doing a CAV for Sam Fisher soon? I loved your unfinished Hit-girl one
  2. Is Sam Fisher vs Arkham Batman a fair fight? I feel like it is, maybe even that Sam can win

I kind of want to do it now. Lol.

Ask and you may receive

@neongamewave: You Interested?

also CaptianBatman may be intrested

I wouldn`t mind sound like a cool idea :) But I`ll probably have to consider it for another time well after I`m finished my current tag-team CaV.

Alright welcome Viners! Welcome to Gods vs Demons where a world of godhood takes on a world of all things supernatural. Cadence like always brings awesomeness and ambition to his characters he knows how they tick but I am no different. I came prepared and I`m fully aware of that, I know that Kratos will be able to defeat Jim Downing in a very unpredictable battle. I am a avid Spawn fan myself as I am also up to date with Jim`s feats as the new Spawn his angelic powers alongside his hellspawn powers will prove to be quite the match for the Spartan but like all his fallen foes before him, Downing will be the one to fall down and never get back up.

Greetings to a God, a God named Kratos!

Like most who played God of War they are aware of Kratos` reputation. Kratos is known by many names the godslayer, the ghost of sparta, the marked warrior and much more. This all began when Kratos made a pact with Ares so that he could win against the Barbarian and his armies, Kratos was a spartan general who ruled with an iron fist who made his name known to all. Once Kratos made that deal his fate was sealed he was bonded with the Blades of Chaos which were forged in the underworld and from that day forth he served Ares for many years well that is until Ares tricked him into killing his own family which was the worst thing he could have ever done. Kratos for a certain period of time would later serve the gods of olympus so that they may keep their promise to rid him of his nightmares but after a series of betrayal that originated from the king of the olympians himself, Kratos would learn that he could never trust the gods again and this is how his vengeance would truly come into being because killing Ares wasn`t enough. While there is more to the whole thing I think that`s enough introductions for now the battle must begin! Now the way in which this will be done is I will be immediately delving into Kratos` stats and then his weapons there will be no concrete order in which this response will take place but to give readers an idea of how the GoW games work in regards to their order in correspondence to Kratos` character I will list them all in order so that Kratos` power level can easily be defined.

  • GOW: Ascension - Kratos just made his oath with Ares but later breaks it.
  • GOW: Chains of Olympus - Kratos for a specific time becomes the champion of the gods and is tasked with adhering to the gods` demands.
  • GOW I: Kratos is tasked with killing his former master Ares by finding Pandora`s Box this takes place ten years after his servitude to the gods.
  • GOW: Ghost of Sparta: Kratos just right after killing Ares is now announced as the new god of war however his past still follows behind him after all his long journeys his brother Deimos is still alive and he seeks to find him.
  • GOW II: Kratos even as the god of war is betrayed by Zeus who tricks him into relinquishing his powers into the Blade of Olympus and now he seeks vengeance on Zeus which inspires a new journey to bring the god of the sky to his knees.
  • GOW III: Kratos takes the war to the gods with the Titans on his side in the end though only Kratos is left standing.
  • GOW IIII: Still waiting for that one...

There are also canon comics and novels which I may or may not use. God of War Betrayal is non-canon as confirmed by a source at Sony and I never thought it to be of any relatable relevance to the overall series of God of War, and now we all await God of War 4 :)

To sum it all up this video puts all my words into perspective if you don`t want simple words then you can have the visuals.

The Response!

Now Jim`s suit is very powerful, after-all he inherited this very suit from the original most powerful Spawn that Spawn being Al Simmons, however it`s basic in the way it compares to Kratos. The suit acts on it`s own and it can affect matter but sooner or later it isn`t going to be enough to hold Kratos down who while doesn`t have a cool cape does have potent power-up abilities all across the board.

No Caption Provided
  • Firstly the Rage of the Gods which amplifies Kratos` damage output by quite a lot and it grants him with a form of invulnerability this power directly comes from the olympian gods so it will be packing some heat. This same ability is very effective against powerful deities like Ares who at max are casual city busters and reality manipulators I`m pretty sure it will be enough to hold down Spawn for quite some time also it gives Kratos a form of defense.
No Caption Provided
  • Kratos with the Rage of Ares can powerup his blades with the element of fire this also pertains to him overall this magical fire should prove to be a problem for Spawn but this doesn`t compare to what comes next.
No Caption Provided
  • Kratos after witnessing the death of his brother Deimos is empowered and enraged to the point in which he stomps the god of death, Thanatos.
No Caption Provided
  • With the Rage of Sparta, Kratos is immediately sent into a beserk mode and is equipped with the legendary blade of olympus in which he can do heavy damage at an alarming rate.

Now in regards to necroplasma while it can be useful and pretty handy it does come with a price in how it can be perceived as powerful. It has a limit counter and the more that`s used is the more that is drained so while Downing can prove to be resourceful with the magic that is involved with the necroplasma he still must carry the limitations that are aligned with the abilities and Kratos still by a LARGE margin outclasses Downing when it comes to overall versatility. Kratos has more weapons, more powers, more abilities and more advantages he can go on the offensive as much as the defensive also skill alone makes Kratos a lot more godlike in the comparison to Downing. While Jim is now learning to mature with his powers so that he may experience a growth in maturing himself as Spawn he still pales in comparison to Kratos in regards to skill when it comes to the conversation, experience, language, discipline and talent in relation to skill, and its levels. Downing`s fighting style is very basic and appropriate for a Spawn while I will give him credit for his creativity it won`t be enough to overcome someone like Kratos who can overcome the odds on a more consistent basis. Speaking of magic and weaponry, this demonstration alone is enough to say Kratos is going to give Downing a hard time, and this is not even a quarter of Kratos` true capabilities while composite. I will elaborate on the plethora of his powers and abilities in later posts but for now I will leave this video so that you can have an idea of what you are exactly going up against in this match when facing Kratos.

Strength and Durability:

Now this is where Kratos outperforms and outshines the rest his strength is one of his most celebrated aspects. While Downing is strong and quite built he can`t stand up to Kratos whose lower strength feats outnumbers his, and Al`s even by quite a lot. Striking and lifting strength are in Kratos` favor also overall physicality now in regards to durability I do think Kratos should undeniably have the edge here as well. His endurance, willpower, stamina and pain tolerance has had more time to grow especially compared to Downing the only aspect that Kratos lacks in his advantageous attributes is a healing factor. Spawn can heal from the most awful of injuries and can recover at a fast rate also he has the ability to heal others now with his angelic abilities however I don`t think it would matter considering the Spartan has durability AND defense on his side also his weapons will prove lethal for someone like Spawn another thing is he has more options as much as he does resources. He is also much more looser with his morals so he wouldn`t hold back against Downing his measures for combat, kill, capture and conquer exceeds Spawn`s by a obvious degree. Now I won`t be getting into too much of the content when it comes to Kratos` durability and strength, I will just counter what you presented for Spawn accordingly and save the rest for later.

  • Kratos in one of his most famous battles matched the god known for his godlike strength you guessed it...Hercules! Now remember this is the same Hercules who shares his history with his original mythological counterpart like David Jaffe, the developers and visionaries at Santa Monica in their intentions always make sure to inform players and GoW fans that the characters within the GOW universe are closely and loosely based on the originals while they are based they are still sourced which means that this is the same Hercules who lifted the earth in the myths also this Hercules like his mythological counterpart completed the 12 labors. Later throughout the debate I will be referencing actual words spoken by the creators that can be evidenced by the many behind the scenes features and makings of GOW it`s already pretty obvious that the series does more in its design to just borrow from the myths it makes sure to borrow and return them in respects while unique in nature due to being within a video game universe under the direction of multiple game directors the direction never does change from what, where and when the original idea is based from. Kratos throughout the whole fight overpowered and outmuscled Hercules also he defeated him with the Nemean Cetsus his own signature weapon. Hercules was creating shockwaves/thunder-like claps with his strikes and attacks with no real exerted effort at all. Also he was strong enough to lift the entirebattlefield but he still was no match for Kratos. Kratos while being held in place, bear hugged or grabbed by Hercules was still able to overpower him. Even the weaker characters of GOW are quite strong and can be compared to Spider-Man (Peter is like a 60 tonner or a bit more) who is from the Marvel universe (comics vs video-games can get complicated but video-games can be in competition with comics) but Hercules is considered a top-tier and this isn`t even Kratos` best feat yet it still overshadows Spawn`s strength feats majority-wise. A 100 tonner is cool but it`s nothing to Kratos and the opponents he faces regularly also that didn`t look like a skyscraper that fell but a construction site. Another thing to point out just by looking at those scans is that it seems to me that there was a clash that took place basically between Spawn and his opponent the kinetic energy produced from Spawn, and that enemy`s colliding attack caused for the site to fall. But overall compared to Kratos it doesn`t say much considering he does things much more casually, and while both are being compared from beginning to end and lowest to greatest, it seems as though Kratos` lowest is still greater than both Jim`s lowest and highest showings.

This is more so Kratos` less impressive feats:

No Caption Provided
  • · Kratos resists the grip of a building sized statue by the name of the Colossus of Rhodes this statue was brought to life by Zeus as well and Kratos then super-charges the Blades of Athena so that he can further loosen it`s grip but the impact sends Kratos a great distance.
No Caption Provided
  • Kratos is sent flying into a large temple this showing is definitely more impressive than Jim`s feat of crashing through the floors of a skyscraper considering the momentum that carried Kratos throughout his descent, and he was left unharmed also he got right back up unlike Jim who was left there for awhile. Although that isn`t Jim`s best feat neither is this Kratos` and yet he still moves ahead with the advantages.
No Caption Provided
  • This feat beats the city block feat for Spawn by miles the Rhodes` hand slammed right on top of Kratos and he lost all his powers, and attributes due to disconnection from the Blade of Olympus but Kratos was still able to get up and move also even resist Zeus himself, and Kratos was heavily weakened on the brink of dying. Another important thing to note is that the Rhodes was busting building size structures during it`s encounters with Kratos.

Speed:

Now this is the area in which Kratos is overlooked and I can understand why. He doesn`t have a lot of amazing reaction, reflex, and combat speed feats but for a composite Kratos that isn`t going to matter... However, like his partner Thor all it takes is for some looking/searching/researching, and you`ll find some of the answers in this case being speed. Kratos does still have noteworthy reaction feats I definitely do think this is an area in which Spawn has a considerable edge but like I said that would apply much more dangerously when up against a standard Kratos a composite Kratos is a different beast altogether. Kratos` most talked about speed feat would probably take the form of his fight with Hermes and I would say that Kratos did a good job in reacting to Hermes as much as he did tracking and following him from point to point. Kratos with the Boots of Hermes gains great sprinting speed also I think with his large command over elemental AoE attacks he should be able to tag, and overwhelm Downing while he may be more responsive with his cape he still can be caught off guard by Kratos` large area affecting attacks.

Loading Video...
  • Kratos had to outlast Hermes when it came to stamina so his speed advantage could be rendered void but before that brief battle, Kratos was still fast enough to react to the obstacles being thrown his way. However Kratos does in fact have lightning fast reflexes as confirmed by sources from Santa Monica Studios.

It doesn`t end there...

No Caption Provided
  • Kratos as shown in this commercial for GOW II avoids and reacts to a lightning bolt what furthers this as being canonical to the character of Kratos is Todd Papy`s own words which can be found on Twitter. Todd Papy was the game director for Ascension and worked on pretty substantial stations within Santa Monica from GOW I all the way to Ascension his word is fact.

https://twitter.com/SDCStormyNights/status/374710470696910848

No Caption Provided
  • Kratos reacts to Zeus` lightning strike and is able to resist it also this was done at the exact time Zeus discharges his lightning.

I`m pretty sure Kratos could dodge and avoid bullets also the laser feat can be replicated by Kratos IMO it`s something most street level comic characters have done as you have already heard (although in Spawn`s case he wasn`t aim dodging) but Kratos either way will be able to keep up with Spawn especially when equipped with the Boots of Hermes also his AoE attacks will tag Spawn no matter what, and there are other surprises waiting as well.

Flight:

Even flight won`t prove to be an advantage for Jim in the long run due to the following reasons:

  • Kratos in his god form will have a far greater AoE on the battlefield despite Jim`s flight ability he will be tagged.
  • Kratos has faced and beaten enemies who could either fly, levitate or attack aerially from above.
  • Kratos can glide with Icarus` Wings while not as efficient as Jim`s angel wings they still can provide Kratos with the opportunity to counter.

This is only the GOW I instance I will delve deeper into the GOW II instance in later posts.

No Caption Provided
  • Kratos due to Pandora`s Box grows to the point in which he rivals Ares in height in this form Kratos can switch between this and his smaller form as he became the official god of war in GOW II, I can definitely say that he won`t have any real trouble in countering Jim`s flight ability.

The following links are only a few examples in regards to Kratos` experience in dealing with enemy types similar to Jim.

  • https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q5NCswWqOvw
  • https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uESQw82n2EI
Loading Video...
  • As shown in the video above Kratos removes Icarus` Wings and takes them for himself and he was able to glide with great balance due to the air pressure surrounding him from his fall with Icarus. There is a showing for the wings during GOW III but I don`t think there is any need to reference it. I will mention it in later posts but this should do for now.

Conclusion:

While this is only the beginning for both characters as I have mentioned before, Kratos is still in the lead and out of Jim`s league overall. Kratos could give Al some trouble even back in his Second Age days and while Jim may have Al`s K7 Leetha in his possession he does not have the same experience in which he can apply his abilities accordingly what I find to be more impressive and interesting about Jim is the development of his angelic powers. Al also had the edge over Jim when it came to combat experience and expertise this is critical because one of the critical deciding points is going to be combat antics and how both fighters choose to apply their abilities against one another this is an area in which I firmly believe that Kratos will reign supreme. To sum it all up this chart will conclusively and collectively bring all concerns to the forefront, numbers don`t lie.

Kratos` AdvantagesSpawn`s AdvantagesThe Numbers
Versatility/Power-set: Kratos has way more abilities as well as weapons, and he can counter anything Spawn has to offerSpawn can be really hax at times but that`s more so indicated with the identity of the original protagonist Al Simmons who was much more in tuned with his abilities, and was always written to become more powerful while Jim is written much more differently it`s more so understanding who he is as he gains new abilities along the way that makes him different1
Physicality: Which includes striking, lifting (lifting doesn`t matter but it is a fair point) and everything elseSpawn is FAR behind in general whether it be Jim or Al they can`t compete with Kratos in the overall strength department they have nice feats of their own but they still pale in comparison when compared, Spawn`s focus is more on supernatural energy attacks than physical strength2
Durability/Endurance/Stamina/Pain Tolerance: Spawn isn`t far behind thanks to his healing factor but he does have limits and Kratos has shown that he can last longer in a much more drawn out fightJim has a healing factor and he can recover from deep wounds or injuries at an impressive rate but it won`t matter because Kratos` weapons are strong enough to K.O or kill him however his healing factor will come in handy3
Combat Experience/Training/Knowledge/Tactics/Talents: Kratos is far ahead of Jim in this area and he knows how to apply his combat knowledge more effectively in intense situations while Jim relies more on his supernatural abilities to win fights also he`s a developing character while Kratos has had more time to develop all-around and Kratos has faced discipline combatants as well while Jim`s enemies can be much more one-dimensionalAl had more training and understanding than Jim even before becoming Spawn in servitude to Malebolgia, Jim simply can`t compete in this area and track record wise when it comes to the opponents they`ve faced, Kratos still outnumbers and outperforms Jim by quite the margin4
Combat Speed/Travel Speed/Reaction Time/Reflex: Kratos` AoE attacks should be more than enough to counter Jim`s speed edge and Kratos himself isn`t a slow poke it`s just that his speed isn`t necessarily considered a strength in his case.Jim has the advantage here but not by a large margin since Kratos can still tag him and his reaction speed is fairly comparable5
Overall (5) for Kratos and (2) for Jim

So in conclusion this is what likely will happen to Downing after his fight with Kratos concludes.

But till then Kratos awaits for his opponent for Round 2!!!

Dante would probably stomp. Superman is fast but he isn`t blitzing a massively hypersonic/FTL character like Dante also his supernatural weapons will be more than enough to take Superman down and most likely kill him. By comparing power-sets it`s obvious Dante has the massive advantage, heat vision won`t harm him because the hottest of hellfire can`t phase Dante, ice breath won`t freeze Dante because supernatural ice is rendered useless by DT, solar flare isn`t bringing down someone as powerful as Dante who heals from much more damage on a regular basis and while Superman is physically stronger he lacks the combat ability to apply that strength in a truly effective way against Dante who`s healing factor would allow him to be able to easily tank his attacks. Dante doesn`t even need time manipulation to stomp Superman he`s already all-around more powerful.
