Also, he's seriously going to knock Kingdom Come? That arc is absolutely fantstic.
Yeah? I was kind of suprised at that myself.

I AGREE WITH HIM 100% ON KINGDOM COME

and for the record he's not saying its a bad story, just saying the book has way, way, way too many characters. And I'm old enough to remember Kingdom Come when it was first out, I was a kid then and barley understood the story but a lot of older people in the comic shops knew a lot more about DC's verse than i did

and even they didn't have a clue about half of the characters

That's EXACTLY the problem with it, way, way, way too many heroes and villains its a failure of Ross/Waids KC and this way too many heroes that's always been a failure of Busiek's comicbooks. He puts in dozens if not hundreds of obscure heroes and villains in his story that don't really add anything to the overall story

and back then there wasn't really any internet

It's not as if back in 1996 you could google KingdomCome and get lots of info on its chapters or go on the comicvine site and check who's that creepy electricity guy standing next to Wonder Woman or who was that black dude with armor and a long beard running next to Lex Luthor

Kingdom Come is a great story but it could have done with cutting a few characters out of it, or setting up a long introduction chapter to slowly introduce people unfamiliar to DC verse

again something we see repeated in JLA/Avengers....lots of obscure enemies, heroes who were barley connected to stories

I think he's now become a worthless A-hole

..

He had huge potential with the golden age structure of smallville but they blew it

and he was cool was in the 80s when Reeve played him and his cartoons are ok

..

but now he's done, his stories are like Hulk comics filled with PIS feats so writers can keep fanboys happy, SUPERMAN HAS COMPLETELY JUMPED THE SHARK

example being learning martial arts in Asgard for thousands of years just so his fanwankers can claim he's a better fighter than Batman

Lois is also so outdated, her dinosaur personality does not fit with the modern era and how girls and women get stronger, more realistic roles

..

I'd also like to see other characters like Lanterns and Wonder Woman and Manhunter save the day for a change

Wonder Woman wins, she has fought a composite Superman/Doomsday. With Hal's help you can be sure she got this one

seriously you guys argued Superman was a better martial artist than the Batman and Goku

There is no facepalm across the whole internet that would describe your level of fanboy stupidity

That said I think both hold back equally, Superman rarely uses his speed in battle, he'd rather take a punch to the face from some beefcake or soak damage from some battle robot to show how 'super' he is rather than dodging their attacks and taking them out with a blitz or using a ranged heat vision attacl

Thor is also kind of foolish in fights, his magic weapon, the hammer is basically a plot device but Thor rarely uses any of its abilities, he could also fly up and just Godblast some beefcake to death but instead makes himself look stupid by brawling with muscle heads

That picture is retarded

There is no way in hell Superman should be able to punch Thor's hammer

I'll Quote Byrne to highlight how dumbass any Thor vs Superman battle was

. Mjolnir hits with its own devastating magical impact regardless of who wields it. If Thor was able to tag Superman with it, which would require Superman not to use his super-speed to easily avoid getting hit, than Mjolnir would knock Superman unconscious. At the very least Superman would always be vulnerable to Mjolnir's magical impacts and would not be able to simply block a full-strength blow with the palm of his hand.
••Being actually ABLE to hit him is, of course, the key problem, but I have said for years -- nay, DECADES -- that if Thor was actually able to hit Superman with Mjolnir, it would be like one very strong guy hitting another very strong guy -- WITH A SLEDGEHAMMER.

Asia ,

As a large united multi-national state, China is composed of 56 ethnic groups. Among them Han Chinese account for 90% of the overall Chinese population.

Yet try to find a minoritiy in Manga etc that doesn't look like a silly stereotype.

Europe

France, modern ethnic French are the descendants of Celts, Iberians, Ligurians and Greeks in southern France, later mixed with large group of Germanic peoples arriving at the end of the Roman Empire such as the Franks the Burgundians, Alamanni and Goths, very small portions of Moors and Saracens in the south, and Scandinavians, Vikings who became the Normans and settled mostly in Normandy in the 9th. The French demographics have Celtic and Latin with Teutonic, Slavic, North African, Caribbean, African, Indochinese, Basque minorities

Yet we rarely see minorites in Europe/Asian comics

Even Marvel and DC rarely put a minority hero in Japan or Britain, if they go to Asia the guy the face is always pure Chinese or pure Japanese or go to London they meet some overly British person like Captain Britain or the Butler of the Batman aka Alfred Pennyworth

and some times Marvel/DC publish embarrassing stuff

that French villain dude "Batroc ze Leapair" Batroc resembles "Batrachia", a older name for Anura, the animal class to which frogs belong

@Vance Astro: of someone trying to pass off a scan as proof of something that is clearly not the case.

Below is an example of someone using cut up panels from comics to try and downplay Supergirl's durability.

Actually when it comes to magic attacks almost all Kryptonians have pathetic durability

A magic shield bashing a person from Krypton in the face hurts just as much as a shield bashing a normal person in the face

Most Superman style characters are vulnerable to magic and that's CANON

You kick them in the gut with a magic boot, its gonna hurt just as much as a boot kicking a normal person in the gut

Magic screws up the Super people BIG TIME

SuperboyPrime and KC Superman being some of the few exceptions to this rule

Magical attacks generally mess them up bad
