Hey there!

In the last year of high school in Norway, all students must write (or make a short film/presentation) an essay about almost anything, as long as it's kind of related to the Norwegian subject. I was thinking of writing about Watchmen and the movie that came out a few years ago. Other than just comparing the novel and the film I was wondering if there is anything you guys feel that I should include in my essay? I of course have a few ideas my self, but I also wanted some opinions from people who have most likely read the book more times than me and have more knowledge about it.

I've also pondered around the thought of writing about Fight Club, but I've heard it's been done a few times before so I don't know if I'm gonna go for that. Watchmen is a little more original choice I think.

So yea, any kind of input is kindly appreciated!

Read the article and definitely picking it up now! Will also be buying The Killing Joke and Hush. Seem like they're quite important Batman books. Read Long Halloween and Watchmen recently and I'm already a fan of Jeph Loeb and Alan Moore, so I've high hopes for TKJ and Hush!

I really want to buy The Black Mirror but I'm not entirely sure if I should. You see, Long Halloween and Year One are the only Batman comics I've read so far. I have The Dark Knight Rises and I plan on start reading that one tonight. My concern is that I might feel lost going into this book because of my lack of knowledge of the Batman series. I have yet to read anything in which Dick Grayson is Batman.

What I want to know from those who have read it is do they do a good job at introducing the different characters? Do I need prior knowledge of some of the characters to understand the story? Also, are there any books should absolutely read before delving into The Black Mirror? I'm still fairly new to comics, so I thought it could helpful to ask some experts on Comic Vine! :)

Looks like off-topic threads don't appear on the main forum page on Comic Vine. Hopefully I'll get enough answers though. Thanks to everyone who has answered so far! Keep 'em coming!

So I got a crazy idea today. Ask every Whiskey Media site what their favorite movies are and make a giant infographic of all the useless information! I was first thinking of just doing this for the Screened community, however I wanted a lot of data, so I decided I'd ask every WM website.

I did a similar thing last year, however that was only for Screened, and I didn't make a infographic. I believe Pulp Fiction came out on top that time. Let's see how it turns out this time.

What do I do?

  • Make a list of your top 3 films. Number 1 will get 3 points, number 2 will get 2 points and number 3 will get 1 point. At the end all the points will be accumulated to announce one winner.
  • This thread will be posted on every WM site, so reply in the one that you want to be a member of (reply on Giant Bomb if you want to be regarded as a Giant Bomb member). This is so that I can sort out the answers easier.
  • Do not reply twice, or on two or more different websites.

Ready? Go!

@Caligula: @Timandm: @harleyquinn12: @Billy Batson: @CitizenBane: Thanks a lot for the recommendations guys! I know I saw Batman Year One when I went to the comic book store so I'll be sure to check that out. And it seems like The Dark Knight Returns is also one of the best, so I'm definitely gonna get that after reading through Year One. Long Halloween and HUSH have also intrigued me after reading about them. Seems like I've got a lot of reading to do! :D

I recently re-watched the Nolan Batman movies and am planning on finally buying Arkham Asylum so I can play the second game that is coming out this year. All of this has made me really interested in Batman. So I wanna start reading some of his comics, but the problem is, I have no idea where to start.

Before suggesting anything I should tell you that a know next to nothing about the Batman universe. I know Batman, Robin, Joker, The Penguin, The Riddler, Two-Face and Bane. And by that I mean that I know of them, not that I know them. I have never touched a Batman comic before so I'd really like to know some comics that are extremely friendly for absolutely new readers.

So yea, have any suggestions? I'd prefer to buy something that is reasonably lengthy. Oh, and awesome covers are a huge plus!

Hey guys. I was wondering if it's easy to get into the Amazing Spiderman series, since it's in it's 600th issue or something.

Hey guys. So last year I went to Free Comic Book Day and picked the first copy for Ultimate Spiderman. I read it one day and really enjoyed it. Sadly after that our comic book store never got in anymore issues of Ultimate Spiderman so I just basically stopped reading.

So I wanna start reading a comic book now. I'm open to any recommendations. I was thinking of Amazing Spiderman but I wasn't sure if it's easy to get into cause the series is in like its 600th issue or something. What do you guys think?
