Actually i think you have got it the wrong way round. Josh pitched his idea to Dan at DC who promised Josh that he could do his idea. But then DC editorial wanted John Stewart to die and the book to go in a different direction so Fialkov left the books.

I have faith that this will be good but i'm still gonna drop Green Lantern when Johns and Mahnke leave.

I have no idea since i don't know any of the pre-relaunch Valiant books. But what i do know is that this book will be great!
