Character review: Blackheart

First time ever knowing about Blackheart
First time ever knowing about Blackheart
My big question is, where is this guy? Why dont I see him in or more involved with the major storylines that Marvel keeps coming out with. I really dont understand how Marvel can't find the potential in this character to involve him, but then again, there are times where Marvel lacks common potential for creativity.
Not being on my own top rated list of badguys because of his outstanding winning streak against heroes and his obsession with the death of his father Mephisto that really never follows through. But he is one of my favorite characters that I would love to see more of. As much as I like to explain the full details on this guy, it would take me pages to probably explain the mystical worlds of heaven and hell and its wonderful occupants, even with this guy. I honestly wished Marvel kept this guy on the basics and have him continue doing what he was supposed to do from the start in his first appearance, have Blackheart more involved with the heroes of earth and have his issues be focused on other characters rather than the impossible death of his father (and yes, impossible, because Marvel needs a Satan, and Mephisto graduated over Satan himself on being the main devil in the Marvel Universe, despite what is known).
When I first saw this guy, which was on some trading card, I mistaken him for a burnt monkey that was pissed off. Which I later found out who he really was, it was during that time Blackheart was one of the main villains in Marvel, probably because he was Ghost Riders main badguy. Then I realized his first issue was in the Daredevil series, finding it for a dollar at some crappy comic store, it was pretty amazing for a first appearance. Blackheart going toe-to-toe with Daredevil and Spiderman, that was a nice fight to see.

Why I like this character:

It's how he looks, creepy as hell, something that would literally make me s**t my pants if he came out of my closet at night. Even though he looks like a toasted level 3 Super Sayian, its also his superior character that I liked, which also fits him very well.

Whats wrong with him:

As if Marvel doesn't have enough demons flying around, I believe this guy fell victim to that fact. I honestly feel that Marvel just doesn't want to choose this guy out of a whole group of demons, like choosing teams in a basketball game, poor old Blackheart didn't get picked for the next storyline or major event. Or maybe it was because of that disaster movie that would label itself Ghost Rider that displayed Blackheart as a badguy who's less intimidating than a minor villain in the Twilight series. But I think what did happen is that he got his butt kicked so many times thanks to some half-ass writers, which had this serious looking character ended up slowly finding himself in the B-rated list of badguys. Anyways, I honestly dont know where this guy is, what happened, or if we will ever see him more involved again.

Blackheart in other media:

Blackheart manages to be a playable character in the Marvel vs Capcom series, which is awesome and he also looks badass. But whats really annoying is that im playing a powerful Marvel character thats getting a royal ass kicking because Blackheart is byfar one of the most slowest and laziest characters in the game. He does make an appearance as a boss in Marvel Ultimate Alliance, which had him as an annoying to fight, and as the final boss in the Ghost Rider Movie Game, but seeing how s***ty the movie was I doubt that a 2-liter of Evan Williams would make me play that game.
Im not going into the film, only thing I have to say about the film is that it should be less degrading than a snuff film and I have no idea who the main badguy on that film is that likes to name himself Blackheart, but that is not Blackheart from Marvel, must be some other Blackheart, but that badguy on the film doesnt rate to be known as Blackheart.

Basically I wish Marvel would bring this character back and more involved, I know that this guy would be useful for a major storyline or a event. I hate to see this guy secretly hidden away and forgotten like some kind of accident or disgrace.

Kang for Dummies

Before I go into discussing this character, I won't be going over his powers, weapons or chronology. Later in the future i'll write a full chronology again on this character and discuss everything there is need to be known about Kang and place his history, weapons, and powers on his Overveiw page. But basically im going over the basics on this character so Marvel readers could understand Kang if they haven't already and his placement within the Marvel Universe.

Kang is really one of the most confusing characters that Marvel has ever created, and Marvel even admits this. Kang is a serious threat to the Marvel Universe because of his ability to time travel. Reason why I like Kang is that his character cannot be ruined by sh***y writers, no matter how hard they try, another Kang would just reappear later. Its amazing how this character has a way to become immortal and mortal. As for his chronology, its really unspecific because you don’t know if your studying the actual Kang or just another Kang from a different reality. Its also hard to tell which Kang died and which Kang it was that took on the Avengers. But what is known, is that Kang started out as a kid name Nathaniel Richards who discovered a time machine and traveled through time. That’s basically the direct history your ever going to get out of Kang, as for the other appearances and what happened from after riding the time machine, its not for sure what happened, even its likely that he became Rama-Tut. Its also damn near impossible for Comicvine to have a three minute expert video on this guy because how confusing it is to get the straight facts about Kang.

Before knowing Kang:

You must learn about Marvel’s different realities, worlds, and timelines. Earth-616 is the current timeline that is being read through Marvel Comics, otherwise known as the mainstream. As for the other earths (realities), they are naturally results from changed events or was different from the events within the mainstream that are read by Marvel readers.

As an example: Marvel Zombies takes place in another reality where superheroes succumb to a virus that turns them to zombies. Which is known as Earth-2149.

Many of these realities are results from the What If comics, as for how many realities there are, it is unlimited seeing that there are so many changes that could be made and have an effect on its future.

As for Kang, he has the ability to travel to these realities. But when he does, he’s also causing other versions of himself to be produced and these other Kang’s can travel back to the mainstream world or any other world if they still have a time machine. Meaning that, if you kill Kang, then another Kang from another reality or timeline will enter the mainstream reality. Much like the realities within the Marvel Universe, there are unlimited amount of Kangs that exist, and because of this, is his ability to time travel. Kang has found himself going against, himself many times. Either as Kang against Kang, Kang against Iron Lad, or Kang against Immortus, basically, because of his ability to time travel, Kang has became an enemy for himself.

**Note** In Dark Avengers #4, you’ll notice how uncomfortable Dr Doom was to go back into time. This is the reason why, because with an unlimited amount of Dr Dooms, it could be very devastating for the Marvel Universe and himself.

Nathaniel Richards:

Kang the Conqueror is known by many names in the Marvel Universe, but his real identity is known as Nathaniel Richards. So throughout my discussion on Kang, due to reasons for his numerous identities, im going to refer him as Nathaniel Richards. Nathaniel Richards originated in a different timeline where society was basically uninteresting for him. Grown into a world where a civilized society grew in a short amount of time compared to Earth-616, Nathaniel’s world never even went through the dark ages. Seeking thrills, adventure, and excitement after studying the heroic age of Earth-616, Nathaniel came across a time machine that would fulfill his needs to escape boredom. Using time traveling for his own personal needs such as looting and manipulating a pre-civilized society into thinking that he was a holy figure, Nathaniel’s villainy within the Marvel Universe began.

Iron Lad:
It was during this time frame, before discovering the heroic age and the time machine, Nathaniel was attacked by a bully named Morgan. Instead of having his throat cut and being sent to the hospital where he learned about the heroes of Earth-616, his attack was prevented by his future self. After knowing what kind of man he would be, Nathaniel was shocked on how ruthless and destructive he was going to be. Going back into time to have the Avengers help him defeat his future self, Nathaniel ended up forming his own group of heroes known as the Young Avengers and with them they battled his future self. After killing his future self, Nathaniel realized how he could damage the time stream if he doesn’t continue his destiny of being Kang. Leaving Nathaniel with no choice but to return to his own time and continue his path knowing what kind of man he will be.

Deciding to influence his younger self and prevent his throat being cut by the bully known as Morgan. Kang could have possibly changed the events and course of not only his history, but also the history within the Marvel Universe. Unless Nathaniel continues his exact course and foot steps of being Kang, then there shouldn’t be any or a whole lot of damage to the time stream of Earth-616

.

Rama-Tut

When Nathaniel Richards planned to conquer the Egyptians in 2950 BC on Earth-616, he built his time machine as a Sphinx to manipulate their beliefs. Even though his time machine malfunctioned and left Nathaniel stranded, he was worshiped as a god by the natives. For about ten years, Nathaniel Richards took was known as the Pharaoh Rama-Tut ruled over the land of Egypt.

Scarlet Centurion

After being forced out of the Egyptian timeline by the combine effort of Marvel heroes, Nathaniel found Doctor Doom adrift in space when he traveled to modern time (which is somewhere in the late 19 century). Later after his encounter with Doom and a conflict with the mutant Cable, Nathaniel took another identity known as the Scarlet Centurion. It was believed that Doctor Doom inspired his idea for the new armored identity. As Scarlet Centurion, Nathaniel traveled to a different timeline, which was Earth-689. Nathaniel managed to manipulate that worlds Avengers to kill every hero within it and have him rule the world, but this plan was thwarted by the mainstream Avengers and Nathaniel found himself fleeing again.

There are many realities and worlds that changed after this event, and where we see Scarlet Centurion from those worlds take over in different ways.

Kang the conqueror

Trying to return to his own time, instead Nathaniel accidentally found himself in the 40 century where the world was destroyed by global wars (Earth-6311). Taking the name Kang, he decided to become a warlord after forming his own army. Nathaniel managed to take over the world and after that incident, Kang became a conqueror in that time.

Immortus

Supposed to be the final identity for Nathaniel, it is unknown what century it was when Nathaniel took the identity of Immortus. Approached by the Time Keepers, who are guardians of time and reality, they promised Nathaniel immortality if he chooses to serve them. Agreeing to their offer to become guardian in the time stream, Nathaniel retired his identity of being Kang, and took on the role of preserving rather than conquer or abusing time.

It is almost for sure that the original Nathaniel does take on the role of being Rama-Tut, Scarlet Centurion, and Kang. But as for Iron Lad and Immortus, it could be either another reality that these characters exist.

 Avengers #1

With Kang's introduction in the new Avengers comic, it is possible that there may be some confusion with the storyline that involves realities and different timelines. Like when Kang showed Starks doomsday device, it doesn’t mean that Stark will make it. Kang managed to acquire it from a different reality where Stark did build it and used it to threaten the Avengers from the mainstream time.

As the story progresses, I will update this if it needs to be.

Psycological review: Rhino

When I see a comic with Rhino on the cover, it mostly turns out to be a very predictable storyline, where it naturally ends with him getting beat by a random hero. Many readers would label Rhino as a B-rated villain because of his reputation of accomplishments, which is very low for a super-powered villain. But the question is that should be asked, is Rhino really the B-rated villain we naturally see him as?

Understanding this character is very easy when you look at his history. His lack of intelligence, dependency of his armored suit and others, incapable of making his own choices, limitations of certain acts of violence, impulsiveness, and the need to express his powers. Rhino basically has a mindset compared to a twelve year old child. Its no mystery that Rhino’s IQ is very low, which is why he blindly participated as a guinea pig for profit and what caused him to be the Rhino in the first place. Rhino is basically a follower, like many children who turn to crime. They were either inspired or motivated by other means to follow the path of others or see it as the only choice they have in life, which naturally leads them to doing criminal acts. Overall I actually don’t see the Rhino as a real super villain due to his on and off situations that would label him as a hero or villain and his actual personality.

Wearing the Rhino suit

Now, imagine what type of person the Rhino would be if we removed his suit, how his character will be developed within a storyline?

Before being the Rhino, he was nothing more than a hired thug with low intelligence, easy for others to manipulate. With his IQ so low, you can imagine him not being able to find a job or being easy to associate with. All he had was his brute strength and that’s the only power he had to make a living, which is understandable on how he was easily led to crime. But overall, the Rhino was nothing without his suit. So when he started wearing his armored suit, he instantly realized that the power he gained, he was much more than a normal thug, which also led the dependency of wearing his suit. Rhino’s motives are overpowered by only one goal, which is self-realization, and he feels the need to wear the Rhino suit in order to aquire that goal. After so many years of having his ass handed to him, you thought he would get the clue by now. But its not gaining victory that the Rhino is after, it’s the fact that he can go up against the heroes of the Marvel Universe. As a way to convince himself, that he’s more of a man than just a useless and powerless thug with a low IQ.

Rhino’s dependency of his suit, lead him to a very unhealthy lifestyle, and he realized this within the Gauntlet storyline. Giving up on his suit, Rhino served his time and managed to find himself a girlfriend and a job in security when he got out of jail. Managing to make a living without the Rhino armor, his connection to the suit isn’t fully disconnected due to the fact that he has it stored in a shop. As he begins go through an event that involves him defending himself or his loved one, he can’t help but use the suit to solve his problems. Going through life without being the Rhino was very difficult, and when he starts to go through difficulties or crises we see that he cannot fully function without wearing the suit. What also helps prove his dependency of his armor, is the fact that his body without the suit is thick enough to protect him from gunfire, so even without the suit, its possible that the Rhino could have protected himself and his loved one.

Trust

Trust from others, is Rhino’s biggest downfall in Marvel Comics. One thing that is a fact, it is possible that heroes like Captain America, SpiderMan, or even the Avengers could have guided a character like the Rhino away from crime. But we don’t see that at all. In the Gauntlet storyline, you’ll notice how SpiderMan doesn’t trust the Rhino on wearing his suit, because he assumed that Rhino would most likely return to a life of crime, when he was wanting to wear it to protect his girlfriend and his life that he built. At the end of Rhino’s storyline, you’ll see how SpiderMan possibly made a wrong but difficult choice on not trusting Rhino, causing Rhino to further his dependency on the armored suit and caring less what he does as a villain. Imagine yourself being released from prison for a petty crime, and your actions for the crime was understandable and could have been prevented by the help of others. Upon release, you start to discover people not trusting you due to your criminal background, finding a job and even starting a new life ends up becoming very difficult because people lack the trusting you. In a way, you actually become a victim of this trust and find yourself being pressured to commit the crimes that got you arrested from the start.

So is it a fact that Rhino is a villain because our heroes fail to guide and trust him on making the right choices or even being a hero?

Anyways, if you haven't read Rhino's storyline within the Gauntlet series, I hope this helps for you to understand in some for or way to see why it's such a powerful and emotional event.

Kingpin review: Kingpin of Crime

How me and Kingpin are homies

As a child, I remember the first time my father took me into some shitty comic book store and there was one character among many that stood out for me. It wasn't Captain America, Spiderman, Superman, Batman, or even Venom, none of them at all, it was the Kingpin. I can’t explain why he would be one of my first favorite characters, probably because I’m looking at a cover where I see Spiderman getting his ass beat with a rug by the Kingpin. After hearing my father bitch about wasting twelve dollars on the comic, I ended up worshipping the comic after reading it numerous times, till this day I still have it and it always makes me laugh when I see Spiderman’s “what the fuck” face as he’s being tossed around by the Kingpin. So after knowing about the Kingpin, I was a huge fan of this jolly fat guy. Back then I was fans of a whole lot of bad guys that sadly turned out to be nothing more than B-rated villains, dead, or just mysteriously disappeared. But the Kingpin really didn’t fail me at all, he was the same Kingpin all the way to this day. He basically was one of those Marvel characters that you really don’t want to fuck around with. Some Marvel fans probably wouldn’t be a huge fan of the Kingpin like I am, or just don’t care for the guy, which is understandable. But there’s one thing that currently bothers me about the Kingpin that has me writing this review, is his title.

Kingpin of Crime

To understand the title is to understand the Kingpin. Inspired by crime novels, like the Godfather for example, Stan Lee wanted a character that treated crime as a business, a man who was responsible for all crime within Marvel, and that’s when the Kingpin was born. Even though he’s called the “Kingpin”, it’s actually a title; the reason why everybody calls him Kingpin is because they shortened it for Kingpin of Crime. Can you imagine if everybody called him Wilson Fisk, his popularity probably wouldn’t be as famous as it currently is. Most of the time in the comics, he’s known as Kingpin when he’s the Kingpin of Crime, then sometimes you see him being called Wilson Fisk when he’s not retaining his title. But why do we call him the “Kingpin” when it’s actually a title?

Question to that is simple, just ask who out of all the characters within the Marvel Universe claimed that they was the Kingpin of Crime. Answer to that is really uncanny and simple, there were four individuals that claimed the title ( I could be wrong on that ). Out of the four, there were three that took action as Kingpin of Crime. Out of the three, there were two that took the title personally and claimed that they were the true Kingpin. That’s right, I’m talking about both Wilson Fisk and The Hood.

Now, even if you hate the Kingpin, his role within the Marvel Universe is very convincing and interesting. Wilson Fisk was designed for the title, his character was entirely created for that role to where Marvel fans and characters can’t help but call him by his title. Crime in the Marvel Universe is very important, and to have a character who’s secretly responsible for all crime is very helpful for storylines and which makes them much more interesting. He’s the actual Godfather within the Marvel Universe, the drug lord, the Lex Luthor of the criminal underground, his power is crime itself and control over every form of crime and corruption within the Marvel Universe.

The Hood

Then, we see this ass-clown, this red blanket wearing jack-off who gives himself up as a demons bitch for some shitty powers. I can see this character being important for the Dark Reign series, and as the Kingpin of Crime during that time. Because I honestly can’t see the Kingpin fitting into Osborn’s special club, I also believe that Kingpin was actually too good for Osborn’s special club and that Osborn (who actually admits) can’t control the Kingpin and that he doesn’t trust him, so say’s the second most powerful man in America. I can also see the difficulty for Marvel writers to even have the Kingpin involved and taking orders from Norman Osborn. As for Hood, I really never cared for the Hood, his character never interested me at all, but when Marvel had this ass-clown going around and saying he’s the new Kingpin of Crime, and seeing that he has a family of his own. Being a Dormammu’s bitch is one thing, but going around and saying that you’re the Kingpin of Crime just lands you and your family a one way ticket to Mephisto’s magical realm. Just because he can control an entire group of B-rated villains with his magical blanket doesn’t make him the true Kingpin. Overall, Hood isn't my favorite character, but keeping the basics within Marvel, I actually wouldn't have had him as the Kingpin of Crime because its expected that Kingpin is going to want revenge on this guy. As for the family thing with the Kingpin, thats another interesting review that takes the fatguy into a much more psychological veiw which involves Daredevil.

Kingpin vs Hood

Marvel really needs to have both Kingpin and Hood to meet each other, I hope that Marvel has these two go at it and that the Hood knows what happens when you get big for britches and claim that you’re the Kingpin of Crime within the Marvel Universe. I really hate the Hood with a passion, I hope Kingpin beats his ass continuously throughout a double-size special, to hell with a decent storyline, the artwork, just have Kingpin beat his rookie ass, that’s all I’m actually asking for personally. Make it like like one of those One-shot comics or something. I personally wanna see Kingpin smash him, beat him senseless, kick the shit out of him, sumo slap the shit out of him, E.Honda head butt him, Judo toss him, swing him around 360 with his stupid red blanket, throw a desk at him, beat him with a carpet, beat him with a lamp, beat him with his magical blanket, shoot lasers at him with his pimp cane, throw henchmen at him, throw Bullseye at him, throw Lady-Bullseye at him, throw Typhoid Mary at him, then throw his rookie ass out the window, and finally use his magical red blanket as toilet paper. Whatever it takes to teach the Hood a lesson for taking the Kingpin title the cheapest way possible, which the Kingpin busted his ass for. So the main reason for this topic, is that if Marvel is going to have a rookie character going around claiming that he’s the Kingpin of Crime, they better have that guy come across the Real Kingpin sometime soon.

Kraven's dedication page

Im keeping this blog till Kravens return at the end of the Gauntlet, letting readers know why I like Kraven and why I would be throwing one hell of a detailed fit like I usually do if the Gauntlet storyline ended very badly. But right now I don’t have any reason to have an Evan Williams shot and be pissed off, so I have no reason to share my brightside. This blog is basically my dedication page to Kraven the Hunter, even if you hate him or not, I could careless because to me he’s badass and he hasn’t failed at being a badass.

History

During the 60’s, both Heroes and villains were being introduced into the World of Marvel. Villains, like Electro, Executioner, Green Goblin, Blob, Mandarin, and so much more. But there were very few villains that had no powers at all, like the Enforcers and Chameleon, these were villains that relied on skills and who would prefer to avoid direct confrontation. Then in August 1964, Spiderman comics was introduced to a whole new villain, inspired by the villain from the short story “The Most Dangerous Game”, both Stan Lee and Steve Ditko created Kraven the Hunter. Realizing that Spiderman was more powerful than a normal man, they designed Kraven to where he would be evenly powerful as Spiderman by having Kraven stronger and faster than a normal human due to a potion that he drinks occasionally. Kraven would become a unique villain for Spiderman as readers see this guy try to take down the webslinger with his bare hands and handheld weapons. Kraven was different from the other villains, unlike Electro, Doctor Octopus, or even Sandman, he basically wanted Spidermans head planted on his wall, and he wanted a specific way of doing this. Seriously, how hardcore can that be for a villain. Anyways, Kravens skills as a hunter became a serious challenge for Spiderman, but he always found himself being defeated. Over the years, Kraven was nothing more than just a costume criminal and that’s when Marvel had Kraven react to that fact in “Kravens Last Hunt”. “Kravens Last Hunt” is where we see a part of Kraven that showed us how he could have easily taken down Spiderman the whole time if he didn’t stick to certain rules on using firearms. Kraven takes down Spiderman using a rifle and decided to become Spiderman and do what he couldn’t. Without going into the story, it ends with Kraven killing himself. Marvel Comics would never see Kraven “alive” again, but he did however make a mark into the Marvel Universe.

Kraven’s Mark

As he died in the late 80’s, Kraven was mostly there when Spiderman was introduced into a franchise. Either as a villain in a show, a boss in a game, or as an action figure, Kraven did have an impact within the world of Spiderman. As a way to bring the hunter back, they had two characters like Kraven, who are his two son’s being introduced into the Spiderman comics. But even though they were more powerful, they were not the real Kraven and lacked the same popularity as their father. Replacing a dead character like Kraven was difficult, Marvel even tried to replace Kraven with another Spiderman character known as Puma, but he too didn’t reach the same popularity as Kraven. After “One More Day”, a new Kraven was introduced, a female version who was the daughter of Kraven. But rather being a fully replaced version of Kraven, she actually becomes involved with the resurrection of Kraven, the return of Kraven the Hunter.

Fans may hate Kraven because they feel like he's one of those annoying ass splinters they keep reading about, the one wear you see a nutjob in some ridiculous outfit go out in public to take on a hero who's too big for his jungle britches. But is Kraven anything closely resembled to that at all? I honestly don't see that. I guess it's the whole "man hunting man" concept that keeps me interested in Kraven's character. Yeah he may be a nutjob, but I see it as him thinking and telling the readers that he owns New York city, as he thinks it's his own Urban playground. Wether you agree or disagree, Kraven has actually never failed at being a challenge for Spiderman and other heroes.  You can imagine that this blood-thirsty gentleman like badass riding on a T-Rex wearing every fucking thing he kills as he comes after your freindly neighborhood Spiderman. Im suprised he isn't wearing Zabu for undies, no animal is actually safe from this guy at all, animal rights doesn't revolve around this guy when you see him make an his appearnace. Which brings me to the reason why I like his costume, he's probably wearing every known endangered species as a costume and going out in public to fight Spiderman, now that in some sick way, is badass.

As you can see, Kraven is byfar one of my most favorite characters in Marvel and knowing that his return is promised at the end of the “Gauntlet” storyline. Im actually excited to see him back into action. Some people may not like him as much as I do, but Kraven mostly represents challenge and skill, he actually makes it difficult for himself when fighting an enemy, he even could have had victory over Spiderman, and almost killed Daredevil. Kraven’s character is very unique and popular, which is why I hope the Gauntlet storyline doesn’t ruin that character. So far, Marvel has given its fans disappointments in other known storylines, major events, and even ruined favorite characters for the fun of it, so I honestly don’t know what the hell they are planning,  if you've followed my blogs and comments, you would probably expect one hell of a shitstorm if they decided to ruin not only Kraven, but also the "Gauntlet" storyline, im already starting to have some doubts because of Dr Conners mysterious ability to grow his arm without turning into the Lizard, which was a mistake for the artist and editors. But as you read the Marvel history, Kravens character is actually quite hard ruin, so it would take alot of " having fun" to fuck this character and the Gauntlet storyline up.

A crappy history of Iron Man blog

Seeing that a new Iron Man is coming out at the end of this week, I decided to dedicate some time to know all about Iron Man as much as I possibly can. So before I go into the history of Iron Man, let me just say that I myself am not a huge fan of Iron Man. Yeah, I like him, his suits are awesome, but the questions is, is he really badass material? is he like Captain America, Thor, or even the Punisher. I might be looking at this guy the wrong way, but for me I just see a rich guy who was raised being pampered who manages to fight crime wearing an exo-skeleton military battle suit. I honestly have no interest in Iron Man, but for those Iron Man fans that think Iron Mans awesome, then I ask you this, can you tell me a storyline where you would label this guy as badass, as my own definition of badass which is labeled on one of my lists that I created. Well, with that out of the way, lets move on and read about Iron Man.

Creating Iron Man

Howard Hughes the influence for Tony Stark
Howard Hughes the influence for Tony Stark

When Marvel was booming with superheroes from left to right, Iron Man was one of the most triumphed creations that took the team effort of Stan "the man" Lee, Jack Kirby, Larry Lieber, and finally Don Heck. It was at the height of the Cold War and one thing that these four knew, was that Marvel Fans and many others hated the war. So they thought of a superhero that was more focused on anti-communism, but that wasn't enough, they also wanted a hero that wasn't only veiwed as indestructable, but also vulnerable as well. So who would be taking the identity of this new hero? and thinking of the wealthy business man known as Howard Hughes, Stan Lee found the perfect identity for this new hero. Howard Hughes was known to be as one of the most brilliant inventors ever known, both wealthy and known to be a ladies man, and the characteristics that Howard Hughes displayed followed onto the identity of this new hero as Tony Stark. Seeing that this character was rich and brilliant, Stan Lee displayed him as a weapons inventor, who's origin focused on becoming a victim of communism. Tony Stark would play as character that suffered from an attack that damaged his heart after tripping onto an explosive trap, taken prisoner, Stark was a dying man when shrapnel pieces was almost entering his heart. Constructing a device that kept the shrapnel away from his heart with the help of another prisoner Ho Yinsen, both men constructed a suit of armor that would help Tony Stark to escape. With Ho Yinsen sacrificing his life to help Tony Stark escape, in his new full suited armor, Tony Stark managed to defeat his captures and escape, after that incident, Tony Stark dedicated his life as not only a brilliant inventor, but also as a hero that would bring down communism and crime. So in three sentences, that was the birth of Iron Man.

Last thing I want to do is go through the entire inventory of Iron Man suits, I would be here forever trying to describe every damn suit that this guy ever came up with. But I will discuss the first suit, the trash can suit, yeah, it looks like a trash can. Anyways, when Iron Man first appeared, his suit was gray, which was okay, but for some reason unkown, Stan Lee didn't like the heroes being gray, so they changed it. Now, this I love, back then when Stan Lee didn't like something and wanted to change it, they put it into the story, and one of the most funniest stories is the transformation from the first Iron Man suit to the second one. As a superhero, Iron Man didn't gain trust from the civilians, why, because they thought he was some kind of a gray robot monster, like Hulk who was also gray, and a monster. So to gain the trust of the people, what did Iron Man do? Bling Blinged his suit to gold.................same robot monster look.....but now its gold. I guess if Ultimo was gold we wouldn't have anything to fear, or Titanium Man, or maybe the Destroyer armor going on a rampage, as long as they are gold, its okay, we are all okay. I wonder if anybody ever noticed that before? probably did and just dont care that the people in the old Iron Man storyline were all just complete dips***s. Anyways, It wasn't long till the Bling Bling suit was placed in the far end of Tony Starks collection of Iron Man suit collecting dust. It took some idiotic clown called Doll Man to make Tony Stark come out with a better version of an Iron Man suit, which I dont know why he didn't design and wear it from the start of his new superhero career.
There is one thing that I do know, if Howard Hughes was a superhero or wanted to be, he would probaby wear the bling-bling suit, I bet he would have made it himself, I kid you not, he would serously have made it and fly around the world with it. If it wasn't for the government hounding him, he would have made the suit, a real life Iron Man suit.

Ladies Man

Before I wrap this up, here's something else interesting, why is Iron Man portrayed as a ladies man? Believe it or not, it was said that Tony Stark feels like he was less of  a man possibly because of the injury he sustained in his first issue. So the Iron Man suit that Tony Stark wears was a compensation for Tony Stark being a man. But when the issue continued to progress, Stan Lee managed to restore that problem by portraying Tony Stark as a hardcore ladies man.

Anyways, thats my crappy history lesson of Iron Man, as for the movie, I can't wait till it finally comes out.

Red Hulk, franchise buildup or a victim

No Caption Provided

When the newest and better version of a new Hulk Movie was coming out in theaters, so was an idea to boost sales, Joe Quesada came up with the idea of having a new version of a Hulk introduced in Marvel Comics, a Hulk that was much more different than the Green Hulk by color and attitude, and to also have his identity kept secret, a build up for more excitement for later issues. So having the well known writer Jeph Loeb develop a story that would introduce a new destructive powerhouse hulk that was red, Hulk fans were excited and curious when this new monster came out. Red Hulk didn't fail the audience at all, his first appearance was like an instant ass kicking of anybody he could find. Killing Abomination after kicking his ass, beating up the new wannabe Abomination who was Rick Jones, beating up Hulk, beating up She-hulk and Iron Man, and most of all, beat the crap out of Thor with his own hammer and of all characters, punched out the Watcher (that was funny). It was finally after the second fight with this new Red Hulk, Hulk managed to beat his new rival, but at the end of Red Hulks ramapage, fans was left with a question "Who is the Red Hulk".

Now, before I continue on with the downfall of the Red Hulk, I personally like the Red Hulk, at first I was unsure about him until he promised Hulk fans mindless destruction, bad mouth attitude, and to see him do things that the Hulk would never do. First six issues of the Red Hulk was and only is the best you will ever see of this guy. Some fans may like the Red Hulk conspiracy crap, and thats fine. But mixing conspiracy and Hulk comics into a Marvel event is really stupid and confusing as hell. After issue six, the Hulk comics started to go downhill. The Red Hulk saga went from ass-kicking action, to confusing moments, to cheap victories, to more confusing moments and conspiracy crap, to Red Hulk constantly being punked and getting his ass kicked, to where i'm finally wiping my ass with the latest Hulk issue saying "who gives a **** who the Red Hulk is, where's the action, destruction, the mindless violence". My question is, Why involve conspiracy crap into a Hulk comics??? That should be left with somebody like Nick Fury, not the Hulk. I mean, its trying to make a crap smell like roses, its just not going anywhere and it sure as hell don't mix. Yes, fans would love to know who the Red Hulk is, but it doesn't need this pointless, non-directed, dragging, ridiculous, stupid conspiracy s*** to build up the excitement on his secret identity. Why not continue the mindless violence, the destruction, the fighting, like any Marvel fan would love to see, a real fight like in the first six issues, and let the other heroes discover who this Red Hulk is while they are trying to stop him.

I probably mentioned this already, but yeah, the Red Hulk fights after the first six issues just wasn't as promising as the covers looked. Seeing Red Hulk cry like a baby after Wolverine scratched his eyes, getting his ass kicked by the Thing, being punked around by Bruce Banner of all people, being taken down by the Red Ghost, I can probably just go on and on. When Marvel fans see Red Hulk going up against somebody, I know that they were expecting a hell of a fight that they would love to review, little did they know, they just expanded their supply of toilet paper when they see either a cheap fight or the Red Hulk getting his ass beat.

I know that it looks like im going hard on the Red Hulk, but im not, im actually going hard on the writer and storyline. I do like the Red Hulk and he would have been awesome as hell, but I dont know how the Red Hulk is going to recover from this storyline. I do hope that they replace the writer, I really do, because everytime I get a new Red Hulk comic, it just makes me mad that im using it clean my floors with it. Idea for the Red Hulk was to build up hype for the Hulk franchise when the Incredible Hulk movie was coming, and it did very well, but after the Hulk movie, the Red Hulk just turned to crap and the writers only lingered onto the "who is the Red Hulk" to continue to write more stories of the Red Hulk, which is probably what happened and which was their biggest flaw. Honestly, I dont know why Marvel would create something awesome and slowly destroy it. But if you disagree with me, then thats okay because every Marvel fan is entitled to their own thoughts and theories.Overall, the Red Hulk could have been awesome and may still be.

Whatever happened to the Green Goblin?

No Caption Provided
Steve Ditko is known for the creation of one of Marvel's most feared villains. I remember Amazing Spiderman issue# 14, where they try to portray this villain as harmless as they could, even fooled Spiderman when they first met, but Green Goblin was far more dangerous than what he seemed. Over the years, we see how far this halloween costume madman will go when it comes to being an enemy of Spiderman. Because of this, Green Goblin has not only forged himself into the life of one of Marvels greatest heroes, Spiderman, but also within Marvel Comics itself. Green Goblin has never failed his role as a villain in a cheap colorful costume and gimmicks, it was his personality that made him one of the most favorite villains in Marvel. Green Goblin had it all, he was cruel, had no remorse for his actions and enemies, he's murderous, impulsive, insane, and he would go through great lengths to ruin the lives of his enemies, and he did it all with his halloween costume, gimmicks, and weapons. Even the flying board he rides around with is cheap, which also makes him more awesome, seeing all that smoke gushing out, only a villain like Green Goblin would try to dick up the ozone layer and f*** up the lungs of his enemies, im suprised that Spiderman haven't had cancer already after all the years of fighting this clown.
Over the years, many have taken the Green Goblin mantle, even other versions of the Green Goblin had tormented Spiderman and other heroes of the Marvel Universe. Its amazing to see how much of an impact the Green Goblin made within the Marvel Universe itself, but overall, there is only one man who is the true Green Goblin, Norman Osborn.
There is no person in the Marvel Universe who can fit in the Green Goblin shoes better than Norman Osborn. Even without his Green Goblin costume, this man is still as cruel, devious, and cold hearted as ever. Best part that I have to mention about Norman Osborn is when he beat the snot out of Mr Hyde and Whirlwind making sure they know who they're f***ing with when these two idiots tried to corner him. That was byfar one of the most greatest Green Goblin moments in my book. Anyways, if you been reading Dark Reign and Seige, you should know who Norman Osborn is, but the main topic of this is, what happened to the Green Goblin?
No Caption Provided
Yeah, what did happen to that loveable flying green elf that we all loved to hate, the best part about Norman Osborn was the Green Goblin, but what happened? When Dark Reign started, you dont see Norman Osborn as the Green Goblin at all, no pumpkin throwing, laughing my ass off for no reason Green Goblin that we knew him to be. Yeah, Marvel dick teased Green Goblin fans by making the Green Goblin appear on covers of certain titles, but there was no Norman Osborn in his Goblin costume stirring up s***. So I thought, hmmmmm, its just building up, I see what Marvels doing, Norman trying to be normal Norman and not the Goblin and when Dark Reign is about to come to an end, thats right, Norman starts to go crazy and Green Goblin is back again. Even seeing Norman talk as the Green Goblin was building up some hype for me when Seige was coming up. Now before I go on to the Seige storyline, there something that I would like to spot out, something odd about Norman. I've looked over all the Dark Reign titles and read them all in order. Here's something for you to look over if your ever bored, is it just me, or is Marvel trying to portray Norman Osborn as somebody else that we know? Which president does Norman Osborn closely resemble? I would say George Bush, maybe as a long lost brother. Then heres another thing, knowing what kind of person Bush is, what would he look like if he was a super hero? knowing that he loves to fly and he does love to be an American, I would say the Iron Patriot. So thinking that I was over analyzing this, till Seige came out, George Bush invades Iraq when he was told not too, Norman Osborn invades Asgard when he was told not too, and both men took down the places they invaded. Now is it just me or is it just a very strong coincidence, if my theory is right, and Marvel is trying to find a way to make Bush as a bad guy in the comics, why the f*** would they have him as Norman Osborn??? Norman Osborn is the Green Goblin, not the Iron Patriot (which is okay for Norman Osborn trying to play hero and gain trust) and sure as hell not as Bush. I can see Norman on top of the Marvel Univserse, as SHEILD director, president, or whatever, but Norman has his own character, if Marvel is taking the idea of George Bush as president and molding Norman Osborn into that type of character, why the hell would they try to change an awesome character into somebody like Bush. I dont know, it could be that Bush is so hated that he would make a perfect Bad Guy, if thats so, then Green Goblin goes along with the Red Hulk as victims of Marvel Comics (another topic for me to discuss).

So besides the George Bush thing, Seige is coming, and the Green Goblin is coming. Hell yeah, I wonder what the Green Goblin is going to do when Norman puts the mask back on, what kinda s*** is he going to stir as the Green Goblin seeing that he has the Sentry and a an army of supervillains with him. Months of waiting for another appearance Green Goblin even since his last appearance in Thunderbolts ( which is the best of the Green Goblin for me ), Seige finally came out, wow all that excitement was flushed down the toilet like it was just a giant pile of ----, talk about a waste of money and hopes for Green Goblin fans. Now if your Goblin fan and you like the Seige storyline, thats fine, but as for me, I basically grew up with the guy and I dont know what Marvel was trying to do, but what I do know is that they managed to screw one of their most favorite Marvel characters, sometimes I think the company doesn't give two s***s about the fans or readers and only care for profits, but im not getting into that, yet. Months of hoping to see when the Goblin making an appearance lead to the suprise appearance of Papa Shango from WWE.

No Caption Provided
How the hell does Marvel go from Green Goblin, to George Bush, to Papa Shango, is beyond me? I know seeing Captain America and other heroes in the Seige storyline was the greatest, but we need our villains. Seven years in the making need super villains, we need disasters, deaths, fights, kickass storylines that proves it was seven years in the making, not the return of WWE's most crappiest wrestler. Believe it or not, its the villains that make the heroes standout, villains like  the Green Goblin.
Overall, it was months of excitement, and Marvel managed to take that excitment and wipe their asses with it if you was a Goblin fan. As for the the Green Goblin, I actually feel sorry for the character and the fans of Green Goblin. I actually do hope that the Green Goblin returns as the flying nutjob with the halloween costume and gimmicks and not as Papa Shango, George Bush, or the Iron Patriot.

He tried

" Im not a f***ing elf "
There was a time when heroes entered the world of Marvel Comics. We had the Hulk, Thor, Spiderman, and Iron Man, but what also followed was beggining careers of costumed villians. Many of these villians was unable to get a second chance because it was hard to involve them in a storyline. Unlike today, the sixties had its own kind of creativity and back then Marvel was more focused on young readers. Now there's one guy that did manage to get a second chance, but it just wasn't going anywhere for him. His name was Bruno Horgan, basically his story involves getting revenge on Tony Stark for ruining his career and job after Stark exposed him using cheap materials. Accidently inventing a device that could melt Iron, he had an idea of using it to get revenge on Tony Stark. Okay, story sounds fair so far, so as promising as it sounds that Iron Man has a new villian that can melt Iron, you can expect something is going to happen when Horgan and Iron Man actually meet. So Horgan decided to become a costumed villian called the Melter and when you see him step in public to face the armored avenger, the words that would probably come of your mouth is "what the F*** is that". I kid you not, just look at him, he looks like a christmas elf, a Mortal Kombat version of Peter Pan, a costumed pedophile. Yeah I know that Marvel targeted kids, but they also had realism in their stories too, and this guy was far from realism. Anyways, it was no secret that Marvel back then made a mistake with this guy, but why keep him. Potential, Melter had potential in his career and Marvel had to slowly build his character and change his costume. His second costume was okay, but he only had a gun that melted, basically, he was just a guy with a gun. Realizing that they wasn't going anywhere with this clown, they changed him again. Back to his chest piece and a mixed costumed of the original and the second, overall, it looked like a second version of the first which still made him look ridiculous. Realizing that this guy still wasn't going anywhere and still a joke, Marvel finally killed him off as a Scourge victim and Bruno Horgan never returned again. This guy was so useless, that when the Hood revived all Scourge victims in the Punsher series, this guy never returned, as a sign of how stupid and usless he was. You may see him in the Iron Man game for PS3 as a boss, probaby in a much better version than this sorry excuse of a villian. You'll find him in the childrens television show Marvel Superhero Squad, but the best of this guy that you will ever see is in the PS1 version of Iron Man/ XO Manowar Heavy Metal game as the second boss, talk about a promising fight, jumping all over the damn screen and shooting a crap load of lasers at you like he just drunk 20 Redbulls before the fight. Overall, you will probably never hear from this guy again, he had potential, but it only landed him getting is ass blown away.

Marvel Badass

The real Kingpin of Crime
The real Kingpin of Crime

If you have been reading comics that involved this guy, you will come to realize that
this guy doesn't f*** around. At first, Marvel characters and readers ( the one's who dont
know this guy) see a fat and bald guy wearing clothes that don't match, it's amazing how this
guy isn't taken seriously at first, but after seeing this guy in action, readers and even the characters
in the comics that pissed the Kinpin off are suprised that this fat guy just layed the smackdown on

them. That was Spiderman's and the Punisher's biggest mistake when these two first met the Kingpin, after

all the badguys these two took down, they thought that the Kingpin was just another goon. Now it isn't
the way he handles himself in a fight that makes him more of a serious villian, this guy plays dirty.
Daredevil found that out the hard way, when this guy managed to get Daredevils secret identity. Because of
the Kingpin, Daredevil's costumed career has been one of the most difficult to live through.  Another reason
why the Kingpin is Badass, is his title and position, he is, was, and always will be the god of crime and the
true Kingpin within Marvel. Over the years as the Kinpin, you'll realize that the heroes not only don't want the Kinpin
brought down, but then again, they dont, because if you take the Kinpin away or take him down, what happens? A war, thats right
a war, who wouldn't want to be the Kingpin of crime? All villians, criminals, or whomever fighting each other to the death in streets
so they can be the Kinpin of crime.

Despite what you say about the current Kinpin, the Hood, is that he is not the real Kingpin. Now, the Hood is okay, but going around saying that he's the Kingpin is a little too big for him. Honestly, hearing the Hood claim that he is the Kingpin of crime just makes me hate him even more. Even the Punisher scares the crap out of the Hood, when he mentions the Kinpin. Whats also sad, seeing that im in the Dark Reign time frame, is that the Kingpin isn't involved with Norman Osborn at all, and I asked myself why is that? and the recent issue of New Avengers answered that question, he was too much to handle for Norman Osborn, the second most powerful man in America, wow. Anyways, before I get carried away, there's two things I hope to happen in the future for this guy, one, he's back, as the Kingpin of crime, two, he goes after the Hood to show how a real Kingpin of crime does it. Kinpin has never failed his role in a storyline and is byfar one of the most interesting characters involved in the Marvel Universe, even in that crappyass Daredevil movie, Micheal Clarke Duncan did an outstanding job as the Kingpin, which is probably the only reason why I would still watch it. So if you hate him, love him or dont even know him, overall Kingpin has never failed his role as the guy you dont want to f*** with in comics, games, and even movies, which is why he gets the Marvel badass award.
