Before I start I must state I am not a hater nor am I one to stop a mercs cashflow but, you would think after all he has been doing to help out the marvel universe he would be PAID seeing that he is a "pay and I play" person.  I know he is working on being good but  COME ON all this work and he doesn't get  anything?  Secret Invasion he got burned, helping out red hulk and banner and you know he's gonna get burned and now Siege!  Wade needs to tell the next arc that needs him "SHOW ME THE MONEY".  I know it's supposed to be for the greater good and for the happy ending but, I would love just once after someone hires wade for it to end with him sitting on a plie of cash I think he deserves at least that.

well now that I have rested up from my day let me tell you it was GREAT!  First off the talent was great and Chris Giarrusso was go enough to do a sketch for me and John Hinkman signed a few comics for me.  At the end of the day the total attendance was close to 900 for the day and it seemed like it too.  All day long the lines were long and constant and I was happy with that.  We had a few hero's there was Superman,Wonder Woman,Lady Blackhawk,Stormtrooper, Guy Gardner,Rorschach and me as the Falcon which the kids loved.  It seemed that the love of comics was alive and well in North Carolina which made me as well as the store owner happy.  I will be adding pics of the event in tomorrows post most likely but here is the group pic we took and I hope everyone had a happy and safe FCBD!

Just getting back from FCBD events and I am tired just wanted to say WE HAD A GREAT TIME!  will post pics and do a full recap tomorrow after a few good hours of sleep till then take care and I can't wait to hear what happened in your neck of the woods

well here we are on the eve of FCBD and to me it's like a mini Christmas I get to meet talent and also the locals who shop at the comic book store which is great.  I also like to talk with patrons about the industry and what is going on with it and its direction, we then head out to a big dinner and then off to the movie marathon.  Well I wish you all the best and happy shopping tomorrow and hey don't forget to post pics and blog about your events tomorrow cause I know I will!

OK ppl while in physical therapy for my knee replacement surgery  today we got onto the discussion about  the best and cheesiest comic book movie well my vote was very easy for the best movie and when I say that I take into consideration how true it is to the comic and character and how much can I believe in the story and how the actor/actress pulled it off so that being said  for best I went with spiderman 1 hands down and for cheesiest nobrainer the very first fantastic four movie   so what do you think feel free to share.

before I start don't get me wrong I have hung in there from the very start with the show but they are upsetting me with this Zod storyline(which by the way is crap) but even more than that the way they messed up the costumes in "Justice".  I mean how hard could it have been to get it right, I have a friend named Allen who made a Hawkman costume for Dragoncon that put the TV version to shame.  Even the Dr. Fate costume was crap along with the mask of stargirl, I mean if you are in charge of a show that is on the rocks why not at least try to get the costumes to look somewhat pleasing to the eyes.  Now don't get me started on the "Blur" costume, it looks like the director told someone "ok we need a costume for clark here's 10 bucks go to Wal-Mart and make it happen".  Why Hollywood keeps on making this mistake is beyond me and I guess it will take a huge outrage for them to finally listen and get it right.  I hope that they get on the right track and do this right, now I know this is suposed to be an alternate universe look on the character but MY GOD AT LEAST TRY, don't tell me that this is your view on it when it is a blight to all that is the Superman Universe and that people like it when they don't, that's like me looking at you are you pee on my foot and you tell me "no i'm not this is just the rain being redirected".

Just want to drop this and say I am so hyped about FCBD and working on my costumes that I didnt evenhave time to drop in here.  Is is just me or does it make you feel really cool when you see a kid open a comic for the first time or if a mom or dad says "look a bigfoot figure" and the kid says "NO MOM/DAD IT'S WENDIGO!".  Having lost my daughter recently this FCBD holds a special place in my heart  that along with my charity visits to hospials in costumes makes me feel a little better everyday.  I didn't say that to get alot of condolances but to make a point that no matter where we are in life or how hard the job/life/or significant other kicks you down there is still 1 place in this world where you can look and say "wow there still is that glimer in the world", and that place my friend is when a kid jumps for joy when they see a costumer or a comic or an action figure (didn't you hate when they called them dolls guys) that look makes it all worth while.  I thank any and everyone who takes out the time to read whats on my mind and can't wait to meet some of you at a con or heck even on skype (no I don't have skype yet waiting for the verizon droid price to go down..lol).  But in closing if you are at FCBD and a kid is upset because they are way in the back, let them cut or if a kid is wondering who is that in the comicbook or who is that signing in the store why not give them a quick lesson because don't forget  at one time you didn't know wolverine from the badger..lol.

OK so it's Sunday and i'm sitting home and my phone rings and it's a bud of mine from the gym and he wants to go hang but, i tell him "I can't i need to catch you with my comic reading"  is response was "damn what are you 12".  So, my problem is why as comic book lovers are we tagged and labeled as weird?  I have friends who can give me all the stats of their favorite team or players but do I call them names or weird...NOPE but, it's a double standard when it comes to us.  I have never heard of a fight breaking out at a "Cup of joe" forum or I never heard of Jim Lee with a gun in the club shooting his foot but because of the media we love we are labeled!  When I said that his reply was "Damn, did I hit a nerve", heck yeah he did!!  That is why I love conventions, my weekly comic book visits and hanging here, now don't get me wrong I don't live and die and eat and sleep comics but, when I decide to read to reflect on them or if you are doing the same and someone jokes on you just ask them how would they feel if you clowed them about what they love.

If you ever think a hurdle or obstacle is to high or you just cant get over that hill or problem in life you tell yourself....at least i'm not this cat!!!! 

Today was a good day, woke up thanked God for another day , watched the game followed by the draft and Batman brave and the bold!  I was going to go checkout clash of the titans but I just cant bring myself to see it.  I know I should give movies a chance and judge for myself but I want to keep the image of the classic stop motion crazy owl version in my head and not have it tainted by a remake.  Now don't get ne wrong there have been some good remakes but, some movies or tv shows should stay a classic and untouched by Hollywood.
