I would argue Wong never was a sidekick, that would be like calling the original Jarvis or Alferd a sidekick. They were butler's or in Wong's case servants, but liked the way they updated the relationship in the movie regardless

the concept doesn't make sense for the character. If Doom was to become 'good' is flawed as DOOM doesn't see himself as evil in the first place, just the rightful and most logical choice to LEAD/RULE the world.
second, his ego is too large to pull a Doc Ock and try to prove he is superior, he is Doom and he already knows that he is.
So to me, the idea is just silly right of the bat, and it will take a few issues to prove to me otherwise that this concept would work.
But Bendis seems to have a habit of just 'winging it' and writes stories were characters act odd just to meet the needs of the story.
Man, when you read McFarlane Venom variant...that is NOT what you expected to see..A bit disappointing, looks more like a Sam Keith foil etched cover from the 90's
Fun issue, yeah sure their are some items to nitpick over, but the overall feel and vibe was just a enjoyable read. Especially laughed with Gwen trying to use her claws for the first time haha
