though it does seem kinda redundant to have them both. they do however pose interest.

One of the best lists I have seen, and with a very unique angle. I really enjoyed and appreciate your poetic write ups as well Mr.Q, and I love many of the characters you selected, and with many of the ones I did not know or love, I have developed a healthy curiosity for, so thank you. ^_^

@SC: "poetic Write ups?" what do you mean?.... either way thanks for the support. all ways such thought in your posts. appreciate it.

@Mr.Q:  "He who sells his soul for his planet has the power to move worlds."  "Did you ever feel like the whole world was against you?"  and a host of other comments. you could have just wrote "Silver Surfer, Herald of Galactus", "Ego, Sentient Planet", etc but I found a poetic quality to your phrasing. Its adds a really nice touch to the list. ^_^

You have quite a few lists too, I look forward to making my way though them. ^_^

@SC: oh, that. yeah I was going for a sense of mystery. not too thrilled with Swamp Thing's. need to amend that. look forward to your comments.

Shouldn't Spider-Man be on this list, ever since Ezekiel came along and revealed that Spider-Man was the latest in a long line of a resurrected spider god?

@mewmdude77: perhaps. yet that isn't the most important attribute about him. we shall see...

Wasn't that a big point in Grim Hunt? Pete is supposed to be the center of the web, and that if he became corrupt, the world would fall apart? Also, "ezekiel" (who turned out to be Chameleon in disguise) came back and talked about that again, right?

@mewmdude77: not sure. didn't read it. what I was getting at was that Parker's biggest and most important asset is his sense of right and wrong as well as his responsible nature. power or importance aside, he'll do what he must. that's what makes him who he is. it's not the Spider its the Man.

oh, I didn't see "him" when you said the first thing, I completely agree that's his most important quality. That's why he's the center of the web. With great power comes great Responsibilty is what makes Peter a hero.

@mewmdude77: a hero without heroic resolve is not much of a hero and they don't come much stronger than Peter Parker. agreed.

@Mr. Q There's a great story that underlines how a hero can not have powers, and still be the same hero. It's called Powerless, and it's a story where a guy wakes up from a coma, and Marvel Universe was just his dreams. HE eventually meets many powerless Marvel heroes, but the three central heroes are Peter Parker, Logan, and Matt Murdock. It follows them, and their paths of heroics without their powers, and shows they're still heroes cause of their personalities, and belief. Peter saves Gwen from Norman Osborn, who was trying to get the plans Tony Stark was making for Iron man. Matt Murdock was defending the Punisher, by defying Wilson Fisk, and then eventually gets killed for defending Castle. Logan defeats being brainwashed, and fights Sabertooth, and goes off to stop the person who tried to get him to kill Xavier. It's powerful stuff. I highly recommend it.

@mewmdude77: 2 for 2. powerless, I'll look into it. nice to see Marvel getting into the inspirational story thing. a nice departure from their usual nihilism.
Posted by mewmdude77

@ Mr. Q It's got a few touched of nihilism, but it is mostly inspirational, and very good

@mewmdude77: got to work with what you know I guess.

Hello,

I am not very well versed on the costumed superheroes and was just wondering what was the glue that held this list together if you would care to illuminate me? As I mentioned elsewhere, I really like your lists, especially the descriptions (as another writer on this thread pointed out) and am curious. The Hellblazer being my favorite character of all I wondered what he shared with a being such as Galactus.

Posted by Mr.Q
@kuonphobos: prophecy and potential. I was thinking one day of the end times, cataclysmic catastrophe, and twisted fate. as I tend to do. I thought in a grand plan what would the pieces at play be? and so came the Chosen. they are all different, yes but I felt many of them have their attributes that would make them stand out among the mob. not all of these beings would stand together of course. even if reality was dying. but they would play important rolls. some obvious. others not so much. just a thought that wouldn't leave me.

A nice one. Some comments seem off, though.

@kfhrfdu_89_76k: how so?
Posted by kfhrfdu_89_76k

A few of them are wonky. For example, Red Tornados:

"sometimes, when you try to be something your not... you prove you were all along..."

@kfhrfdu_89_76k: in his attempts to become more human, protecting humanity, starting a family and cherishing all the things we take for granted, he has proven he is just as, or even more, human then the rest of us. some of these are vague yes, but there is reason to the rhyme.

Better. Not the only one though, that should be improved, but that`s just me thinking so.
