Oh, I realize that ...but, why didn't his mother just let him go completely into the water for...oh, say 2 seconds? The child surely would have survived such a lack of air for such a short time? Kind of silly...oh well, he did help to breach Troy at the least, I guess.
@Mr. Ubiquitous said:I believe that was because when Achilles was dipped in the river styx by his mother she held him by the ankle, making it the only part of his body not touched by the river styx.I'd personally have to go with 'Achilles Heel'I mean, really? and it JUST so happens he gets shot in his HEEL? and dies? Who the fark shot that arrow, Hawkeye? Don't know, major league dumb.
I live on Long Island, NY...Beach life is a wonderment that those that don't live near the ocean will never understand. There is something unique about water and man...maybe that 70% of our bodies is made up of water is part of the mystery...but lord I do love the beach.
To be honest, I thought this thread was about the Leo De Caprio film...which I personally think is awesome :)
@Mr. Ubiquitous said:For real? My uncle is almost 70 and he used to have a bunch of comics from the 1950s. A lot of different genres during that time, but kind of sad from a collectors point of view. He was to young to have bought the Golden Age original Superman/Batman/Captain America stuff but then he was to old to be buying comics by the early 60s when the Marvel books started coming out. I started collecting in the late 1980s and IIRC I could still find some for $0.75. They went up rapidly though and about four years later the early Image Comics were $1.95.
no, not really. However, i've added quite a few 10 centers over the years :)
