well based on our conversation so far... I would think the very act of doing good on the Earth should be purpose in itself... being a vessel of goodness for your God upon the Earth is part of the purpose you have here... as well as enjoying the quality of life you have also... no reason to jump ship and pray for death when death is something that's inevitable anyways... just enjoy the life you have here and be a light of goodness unto others... now that doesn't mean you have to be the enforcer of biblical law or anything... just help out where you can and enjoy this existence.

So would it be wrong if I decided to do good things for the rest of my life hoping when my time was up I go to heaven?

nope... you would not be wrong.

But what if I was only doing those good things mainly cause they could land me there, but also feeling good about doing good?

the major goal would be to do good for the sake of doing good... but unfortunately some people see that as purposeless... this is why I took the approach of saying do good for the sake of fulfilling the purpose God has for you on the Earth... it gives incentive for some folks to make those moves... really everyone should be doing good for the sake of doing the right thing though.

Cause it just might happen? Hey being in heaven for eternity sounds awesome, especially the way heaven is described. Why not wish for something like that?

because you are here for a reason... to wish to die and go to heaven would be a selfish exploit, because if you are alive The Almighty has you alive for a reason... and though going to Heaven could be a Good Thing... wishing to die and go there to leave this Earth because of it's issue would leave you in the hands of a Disappointed God, who expected you to do more with your life than just check out for the rewards and not put in the work to help lead more people to him... ( at least from a Christian Perspective )

i understand this but I feel at times that i did not ask to come here, i was put here not because i asked to be put here. But at the sametime i dono man, this place such bullshit man.

I mean under those conditions there is a good chance you would not exist at all... so even though the Earth can be a rather vile and awful place... be thankful you are alive and are in a position to do some good... instead of not existing at all... cause that could be the case also.
