@Mr. Smiths said:the major goal would be to do good for the sake of doing good... but unfortunately some people see that as purposeless... this is why I took the approach of saying do good for the sake of fulfilling the purpose God has for you on the Earth... it gives incentive for some folks to make those moves... really everyone should be doing good for the sake of doing the right thing though.
@King Saturn said:@Mr. Smiths said:nope... you would not be wrong.
@King Saturn said:@Mr. Smiths said:well based on our conversation so far... I would think the very act of doing good on the Earth should be purpose in itself... being a vessel of goodness for your God upon the Earth is part of the purpose you have here... as well as enjoying the quality of life you have also... no reason to jump ship and pray for death when death is something that's inevitable anyways... just enjoy the life you have here and be a light of goodness unto others... now that doesn't mean you have to be the enforcer of biblical law or anything... just help out where you can and enjoy this existence. So because you think it's Hard to do some Good you want to check out from the Earth ?
No see its so much more then that dude. Hard to explain cause you do not know me personally, but more deeper then that. I have no problem doing good, just I dono my purpose here, dono what I want out of life. I mean whats point in being here if do not feel like you have a purpose or dono what you want out of life.
So would it be wrong if I decided to do good things for the rest of my life hoping when my time was up I go to heaven?
But what if I was only doing those good things mainly cause they could land me there, but also feeling good about doing good?
