She stopped him. Physically? No.

Yes she did. She got in between Superdoom and his target, through her lasso around him and whipped it so hard that it smashed him backwards into the ground. That requires physical strength.

And when Superdoom tossed her aside, it wasn't because he beat her in the physical grapple, it was because she was grappling against him, then he decided to break the grapple to hit her away. During the grapple itself, she did manage to stop him in his tracks.

At no point in the panel does it show him break her grapple in order to hit her. She pushes against him, and in the next panel of their fight he's clearly tossing her aside with his left hand. It doesn't show him break away from her and then smack her. If he hit her, she would've been sent forward or to the side. He's clearly tossing her behind him here. So either you're memory's fuzzy or you're exaggerating her feat here.

What Wonder Woman did here was she stalled him. But stopping him? No, that was a combined effort by many people including Clark's internal struggle. Her best feat against SuperDoom was ambushing him with her lasso and pulling him out of the cloud to bring Clark back during their first encounter. That was an actual example of her stopping SuperDoom in that instance. But in this encounter? Nope.

Probably because she didn't stop Superdoom physically, but by reaching out to Clark who was trapped inside. The only time she tried to match him physically, he tossed her aside.

If you're referring to her ambushing him with her lasso and dragging him out of the cloud to brink Clark back, then technically she did stop Superdoom temporarily in that case. But if you're trying to imply she could physically match or beat Superdoom in a fight, you don't have enough evidence to back up that claim.

Truth be told, Wonder Woman should be a sexually charged female. She's super athletic and healthy, and those things make your sexual drive stronger. We also know for a fact she's into men, and having spent her whole life on an island full of woman, you'd think she'd be craving some action when she arrives in man's world.

Stop complaining and instigating fights with the Superman and Batman crowd then. You guys cause a lot of it. You don't have to describe how great WW is by making digs at Supes and Batman. I see it happen a lot on here.

Yup that's exactly what I'm getting at. There's a reason the WW fan base on the vine has a reputation for being whiny. It's not because they whine. It's because they whine all the time, and it's usually over things that really aren't a big deal. WW has probably been one of the better treated characters since the New 52. Hell she's had one of the best runs compared to the other books, before the Finches took over. And yes it's understandable to be unhappy over how a new creative team is handling a character. But this is also common. Characters go through good and bad writers all the time. At least Johns is doing a good job with WW in Justice League right now.

Meanwhile Superman fans are constantly dealing with mediocre story lines, out of character moments, the core of the character being betrayed (identity being revealed, falling for WW instead of Lois, etc), and people always crapping on the character for being "boring and lame because he's invincible and can do anything."

So yeah, don't blame Superman fans for not feeling sorry for WW fans.

You do realize DC's portrayal of Superman in the past few years, has been one of the common criticisms of the New 52 right?

@mpfly88: You mean because that right is reserved to Superman, the all-powerful being that dwarfs and renders the Justice League redundant...

Yes and no.

Yes as in Superman is basically (for lack of a better term) the Christ figure of the Superhero community. He's the living embodiment of what a Superhero is suppose to be. Brave, selfless, kind, strong, merciful, honest, etc. I'm not saying other heroes aren't like that, but Superman has always been the guy that champion's those principles. Combine that with the fact that he's incredibly powerful, and yea, a lot of heroes would without a second thought, rally behind him.

No as in Superman has, on many occasions, not had the power to stop certain threats. Like I said, everyone brings something different to the table. If there's a powerful magical threat to the world, there's not a whole lot Superman can do, other than support. Meanwhile Wonder Woman would most likely be the MVP in that situation.

I think it's completely dependent on the situation on who would fill in the role of leading the charge, and who would be the biggest threat the League can offer.

@brunnhilde:

Fair enough. But WW has never been portrayed as a pushover. I disagree though that she should be portrayed as the biggest threat because:

A. That cheapens the value of the other teammates.

B. She's really not the biggest threat.

There's a reason the all powerful Superman, Hal Jordan, and Flash, for all their amazing power, job to their other teammates every once in awhile. It's to show everyone brings something different to the table. There should be threats that WW specializes in, and threats where she gets her face kicked in.

In one of the earlier issues of New 52 Justice League, WW threw a temper tantrum and beat up the whole League. Right now she's leading the charge in Darkseid War.

Is this thread suppose to be bait? Because this is a prime example as to why WW fans have a reputation for never being satisfied.
