X-23 has a way of worming her way into people's favorite lists doesn't she. small girl made a big impact. is Nightcrawler still dead? or am I off about that?
Posted by moviegeek17
@Mr.Q:
yeah she is a surprisingly good character for a concept that easily could have been a female wolverine gimmick. Her new comic is one of the reasons why she made the list. and sadly yes nightcrawler is dead hopefully he wont be for too long though

@moviegeek17: same could be said about Harley Quinn. Kurt will be back. in some convoluted way.
Posted by moviegeek17
@Mr.Q:
yeah i only hope that they can bring him back properly and not like ok now he's back

maybe someone will sell their love to Mephesto or something? that seems to solve everything.
Posted by moviegeek17
@Mr.Q:
then get tony stark, reed richards and doctor strange to make the world forget about it even though mephisto technically already did... damn it makes me sad knowing what they did to peter and mj :(

@moviegeek17: all because little Joey is having a mid life crises.

@Mr.Q:
can marvel just get a new creative chief? someone like brubaker would keep crap like this from happening! t least most of it. no one'sperfect
Posted by Mr.Q
@moviegeek17: little Joey is the editor in chief and now the chief creative officer at the same time. two positions made to keep the other in line are being held by one person. this gives him control over editing and creative. there is no in between now. what he says goes. also he is in charge of creative direction in other media TV, Movies what have you. he is so ingrained I'm not sure if they can just get him out. something needs to be done though. I think DC either got rid of or is getting rid of Diddio or something so it could happen. but the future doesn't look to bright...

@Mr.Q:
oh shit i wasn't aware that he was the chief editor too. how in the hell did that happen?! no wonder things have gone to hell for spidey. i really hope they can get rid of him within this new decade. i really do
Posted by Mr.Q
@moviegeek17: not sure how it happened. but it did. little Joey isn't too popular at DC either from what I hear. he was also the reason at least two writers quite and left for DC. from what I hear he also has a piss poor condescending attitude with fans. so lets promote him. he also seems more interested in the movies than the comics. basically said he doesn't care what readers think just the people watching the movies. I don't think Disney is helping much.
Posted by moviegeek17
@Mr.Q:
somehow that doesn't surprise me that he did that, do you know what writers he pissed off? cause i am quite curious. my first guess is JMS since he got screwed over with spidey and had his thor run cut disappointingly short. That is plain stupid how he got promoted at all let alone has two jobs. And don't get me wrong i like it that someone cares about marvel's movies now but that same amount of care should be applied to the comics where your fanbase for the films came from in the first place. As an aspiring comic writer i don't think i could or would bear to piss off fans the way he has. If anything i'd like to make there be more  fans of the characters i'd write for whatever company i would work for. guess he doesn't see it that way... hope he gets out of there asap.

@moviegeek17: JMS is one of them. I think the other was Geoff Johns or something it had something to do with Joe's decision regarding trades or something. look up little Joey's page on TV Tropes.com they have a list of things that little Joey did.

@Mr.Q:
so he decided to kill jean off again? i didn't even know that was his idea?! you found a way to make me hate him more. thanks lol
Posted by Mr.Q
@moviegeek17: misery loves company. he doesn't seem to think to highly of female characters or marriage. however he did support two marriages in comics, the Peter MJ marriage in Spider-Girl which just reminds everyone of what he destroyed and the Storm lack Panther marriage that turned the strong and interesting female Storm into Black Panther's cheer leader/fan girl/arm candy that most people either hate or don't care for. why? because it apparently makes the menfolk "more interesting".

@Mr.Q:
agreed, he actually found a way to  make mj into a weaker character too. she's been able to handle the stress of being with peter since the 80's and they were still strong i know they have had problems together but all couples do and whenever that did happen their bond would only get stronger. not break from bullshit pressure that was made up by quesada...
Posted by Mr.Q
@moviegeek17: don't take this as gospel but I heard awhile back that little joey had some kind of failed relationship a marriage or something and a problem with his mother I think she died or git sick or something and it had 'affects' on him. I don't know if its true or not. may very well be a rumor. but either way the boy needs therapy. if you want to get riled up look up some of the stupid things he has said. one interview he basically said he thinks all comicbook fans are unwashed fat losers that can't get a date and live in their parents basement. basically the big negative stereotype of comic fans. and he thinks its true. thats why he made Peter Parker such a loser... he thinks it's 'more relatable'. kind of makes you feel all warm inside... doesn't it?
Posted by moviegeek17
@Mr.Q:
oh yeah im feeling the love... if he had trouble getting a girl cause the ones he was interested in weren't right for him then i can relate to  that but not to the making him a loser thing. and i hate it when he goes all anti marriage, i understand character conflicts for story but there plenty that a married couple can have that aren't relationship problems just requires some work
Posted by Mr.Q
@moviegeek17: he's not the only one. a small group has been trying to end the Parker/Watson marriage from the moment it happened. a lot of writers who just don't know how to write a married couple so they blame MJ. rather than admit their own limitations they blame a fictional character.  remember when MJ 'died' in that plane crash? that was done to "correct" the marriage problem. after intense fan backlash, that was less then the backlash of OMD they quickly retcond it to appease the fans. some thing little joey doesn't seem to think is important for business. little joey also thinks them being married ages the characters too much. more precisely Peter. Peter who has graduated collage many years ago even in comic book time, has a real job as a high school science teacher and is probably in his early 30's, but marriage and a family makes him old. there are people who get married right out of high school at 18. he just wants it like the books were when he was a kid. I understand nostalgia but don't ruin it for every one. he even said that we should let the younger readers enjoy the Spider-Man they grew up with. which of course means destroying the Spider-Man that the younger readers grew up with. that makes no sense. he even said that they were denying them the Spider-Man they grew up with. he did it for himself and himself alone but wont admit it or listen to reason. but I don't want to start ranting or anything.

@Mr.Q:
pretty much what you said is how i feel i understand nostalgia but what he did has ruined my nostalgia cause i've always been reading with them married except that plane crash incident  that i refuse to talk about lol. rough time to be a spidey fan sadly...

@moviegeek17: dark days indeed. some way some how someone needs to get him out of there. I won't pretend I have the answers, but this is America and we can get a gun. not saying anything. just saying...
Posted by moviegeek17
@Mr.Q:
personally i'd prefer to see him get kicked out. its more satisfying that way :). and i wish i knew too. maybe disney could kick him out and pull a dc and make one of marvel's best writers in charge of it all
Posted by Mr.Q
@moviegeek17: alright. fine. whatever. doesn't look like he's going anywhere though. Disney made a 'hands off' policy. but we can always hope.
Posted by moviegeek17
@Mr.Q:
thats rsther discouraging. maybe daredevil can off him again lol. nah but its bound to happen eventually... right?
Posted by Mr.Q
@moviegeek17: damn well better.
Posted by moviegeek17
@Mr.Q:
agreed. till then we just have to sadly ride out the storm
Posted by Mr.Q
@moviegeek17: complaining helps though.
Posted by moviegeek17
@Mr.Q:
very true as well lol
Posted by Mr.Q
@moviegeek17: who needs therapy.
Posted by moviegeek17
@Mr.Q:
i do after one more day...
Posted by Mr.Q
@moviegeek17: so does little joey if his "creative" work is anything to go by. divorce is too immoral but demonic deals and betrayal make baby Jesus smile? paging Dr. Jung... paging Dr. Jung...
Posted by moviegeek17
@Mr.Q:
yeah and lets not forget that its perfectly fine to have sentry rip people in half, but marriage is bad :(
Posted by Mr.Q
@moviegeek17: it's not even that. the only people who would find divorce immoral are devote Christians or other highly religious people. so how would those same people react to THE DEVI "annulling" their marriage? little joey is talking out of both sides of his @$$ and everyone can see it. but he just keeps smiling that D-bag smile of his and denying his own self serving stupidity like he was Glenn Beck or something. he's unfit for the job he was given so it should be taken from him. (period.)

Cool list.  You already know I like Thundra, but Black Widow is one of my favorite Heroines going back to when I was a kid and her and Herc were together in the Champions and when they helped the Avengers against Korvac.  It's cool to see her on your list of favorites, too.
Posted by moviegeek17
@PowerHerc:
cool, i didn't know you liked black widow either. I've always liked black widow but the combination of majorie liu's run on black widow and her appearance in iron man officially cemented her in as one of my favorite characters.

  • @moviegeek17:
    You got me thinking;  My favorite Marvel heroines are all women I first read about as a kid.

Thundra - 1977

  • Sersi - 1977
  • Ms.Marvel - 1977
  • Black Widow - 1976

Phoenix (Jean) - 1981

Others that rank pretty high that I also met as a kid are; Kismet (then known as 'Her'), Tigra, Scarlet Witch and the Invisible Woman
