Here is a link to my review of Bane's most recent appearance in the pages of Batman: The Dark Knight Issue 6 with some of my thoughts about him:

I'm not sure why everyone thinks it's too soon to introduce an alternate reality in the DCnU?

Because DC Rebooted the History to make the comics more ''accessable'' to new readers and near the 7-8th issue of the new series, you mix it up with an Alternate reality ( which has caused quite confusion from time to time even for the veteran readers and caused some plot holes )

I personally think like that because you have to settle your ''New 52 '' characters to the stone first before you mix them with their Earth 2 counterparts. Sure they are in different places now but just look at World's Finest, it already started to make the connections between two worlds. In a state where each issue we get a revelation from the characters we know or we start to know freshly , an Earth 2 counterpart can confuse some new fans.

I don't know, maybe I am overthinking too much. Only time will tell if I am right or wrong.

And yet I am the new fan and I don't find it confusing at all.

@MonkeyToe: Yes, supposed to be Mera.

After what happened in the first arc of Justice League Dark, I don't think Enchantress will be joining the Justice League, ever.

Yeah, I realized after writing this post that the Enchantress with the head gear I was looking at was actually the Marvel Enchantress, so the egg is on my face on this one.

This arc doesn't really compare to Year One. These characters haven't really developed strong relationships to each other. So far this feels like a collection of random people who happened to bump into each other during an alien invasion and could just as easily go there separate ways after the end of the arc. Cyborg especially, who you would think would be dealing with some serious issue adjusting to now being mostly mechanical, rather than immediately jumping into a battle with an alien conqueror.

Isn't that kind of the point of the current arc? It takes place 5 years in the past after all, before the JL has officially formed. THe point of the arc is that they AREN'T a team yet.

Oh, JLA is dead, its collection of random people who happen to bump into each other during an alien invasion and could easily go their separate ways after the arc. The sky is falling, the world is ending. Apokolips is near. The JLA-ers don't know each other, my life is over.

LOL

@MonkeyToe: It's mostly not new readers. I'm agreeing with you 100%, just reinforcing your statement. And adding that if anything it's Marvel's multiverse that's a mess.

Woot!

@jsphsmth: He said it wasn't pointed at you.

To his credit, I have seen a decent amount of people worried that 'The idea of the multiverse will confuse new readers.' Which I agree, is crap. At least DC's alternate universes are different enough to explain, I had a hell of time getting someone to understand the point/difference of the Marvel Ultimate Universe; and of course I have to explain it every time someone who doesn't read comics mentions killing Spider-Man and replacing him with a black guy.

Oh I agree. I have seen a lot of posts just on this board that have that concern. But how many of them are new to DC Comics?
