DC Comics: First Wave

I have been reading DC comics since the early 70's and I have enjoyed them. With this DCnU I tried to get behind it, but I just gave up. I went from collecting around $150 of comics to now just under $20 of comics. I cannot stand what they have done. If they would have ended the DC Universe with a simole fad out, and started the DCnU on one of the multiverse earths it would have been better, This way they could start all over and not teased or messed up years of comics and not alienated the old collectors who have been supporting the comic books for decades, At this point I guess I will have to just reread my old books and remember when.

well it seems DC lost out again. Thats fine I am glad to see the orginials and the new team.

The whole X-men franchise was screwed up on the first movie. Marvel needs to get the rights back and start all over again. Fox has messed up their own continuty in there movies by throughing in every mutant under the sun and it is clear that they did not have somebody tracking there characters. These movies have been and will be a joke until Disney/Marvel gets there rights back I for one will not be watching these at the movies (maby DVD).

I cannot beleive I am going to say this, but as a gay man I am Dropping this title. I have read the JSA for decades and I just cannot deal with this version of Earth 2. I am sorry, I do not see why Alan Scott has to be gay in the comics.

From what the clip showed it looks good. If he is running around town in his Green Arrow outfut it should be better than Smallville since he NEVER wore the outfit.

I stopped reading the X-Men family books years ago. This looks to be yet another attempt to go and shoehorn in another series that time forgot. The problem I have is if this is a prequel is it going to look like it or is it going to be told that it happens in the past but shows actual modern tech.

One of the main problems I had was the fact that they moved it to New York. Static should have stayed in Dakota. I have all the Milestone comics, the cartoon series, and and autographed Static Shock TAS poster signed by the cast and Dwayne. If the series would have stayed in Dakota it could have had more guest appearances. I did love the fact that Hardware showed up and later on Technique and the fact that Static had a job at S.T.A.R. Labs. I will buy the rest of the series because I am a loyal Milestone fan, but the fact that the script was so wierd I will not miss it.

for those that missed, the first two episodes come on everyday this week. Unlike DC and Cartoon network, Disney reaires there shows plenty.

To me this seems more like New Warriors or Young Avengers training to become the next Avengers. I like the show and I am happy that we are getting characters that either never showed up in the media or very little. This is a bonus and I like that factor. i cannot wait till next Sunday for the next episode.

The Cartoon mash isn't worth it to me. If Marvel/Disney wantes to compete with DC and there DC Nation, they need to do some real orignial cartoon shorts. I would love to see mni-toons based on Howard The Duck, Power Pack, New Warriors, Avengers Academy, New Mutants, even Slapstick, The Impossible Man, and Pet Avengers would be better that the Mashups.
