look Teen Titans in school 0

I think after reading this issue, it shows a little of what the Teen Titans would be like in school.  It does ask the questions of how Ravager and Robin would behave as well as Conner and Cassie's relationship.    The breakup...feels more like it was prompted by Superboy's solo series.  Different times, different reasons than Superman's years in Smallville.   The comic does a good job of continuing the story with leaving hooks for the future.  Guess I'll keep going until the big 100th issue...

2 good stories 0

I brought this because I read Wolverine: The End and liked the concept.  This was an interesting what if story showing the Hulk aging as well as who's win in experience vs youth.  Probably one of the saddest but still most interesting part was seeing the hideout that was also a shrine to the deceased allies and enemies of the past.  The stories of their passing could be several The End volumes as well.   The second story was a story I've been looking for years but never knew where to start or ev...

alternative Eva 0

People who love anime or manga have heard of Neon Genesis Evangelion, the dark future take on aliens and the measures taken to defeat them.  This is an alternative take on that story with the what if things were different.  If Shinji's mom never died or if Rei was more emotional, etc.  I've found this series to be the standard Japanese stories of misunderstood signals, classic helpless situations but still done humorously especially if you know the cast.  I would say I enjoy this series more tha...

smart Flash 0

To me, the Flash besides his rebirth and new series has been defined mostly by his super speed and seems overshadowed by Batman and Superman in both skills, mental abilities, etc.    So this issue was a welcome changed to show Barry Allen using his brain as well as his brawn to outwit his enemies.  Yes both seem to have convenient solutions but shows Barry using his wits to reach them.    Plus reading earlier issues and seeing how things have changed over the years provides another amusing layer...

Ulic redeemed 0

I enjoyed the Tales of the Jedi series back before there were even a hint of Episodes I-III.  After the end of Sith War, Ulic hid to get away from behind a Jedi turned Sith.  Seeing him train Vima to be a Jedi made for an interesting story as well as the other's reactions to both his training and continual survival.    Seeing as Ulic featured in all the Tales of the Jedi trades, this felt more like a Ulic saga or what if Anakin Skywalker existed then instead of now.  I would defintely recommend ...

crawl to run 0

the pieces are starting to come together, a vision of a potential civil war, after 2 wars that has wrecked the Green Lanterns.  It's easy to see why Gardener would ally himself with Atrocitus to avoid another war.  However in doing so, he's pushing them closer to that war.   Emo Green Lanterns or just jaded after all the fighting?  Kilowog in an extreme close up, we don't want...Bleez, ditto Arisia works for us.     More issues, more time to determine if this series and the upcoming Red Lantern ...

Indecisive Superman 0

After reading this issue, I'm still a fan of Superman but think this Grounded storyline could have been shorten, simply going to different towns won't change the environmental problems or politicsThe times have changed since Superman could threaten corrupt politicians or corrupt businesspeople.  Now it's down to the lesser of two evils which explains why he hesitated.I have a feeling that the Superheroes might show Superman a future or an alternative world as a way to make him recommit to his Tr...

Action Comics 333 0

I have 2 boxes of old comics my mother and uncle collected so I inherited them now.  Reading this comic from 1966 in 2011 is quite amusing.  Seeing Lex Luthor use psychological warfare to mess with Superman reminds me that not every battle between these two need to be brawls or worldwide.    The second story is definitely an alternative universe tale as a Superboy faces off against a Superwoman in roles reversed of Supergirl's arrival on Earth years after Superman's arrival.  The use of both Gol...

Arrival of Kara 0

I enjoyed this movie since the Public Enemies was just as good in showing the differences in Batman and Superman.  Here this continues as they debate how to deal with Kara Zor-El.  Later Darkseid takes an interest in her and attempts to corrupt and turn her against Superman.  Kara defeats Darkseid and later takes her place in the DC world as Supergirl.    One key element that made this movie work was the casting of the voice actors.  One of my complaints about earlier animated movies was changin...

THE Superman movie! 0

I"ve loved this movie for years.  Never mind the fact that Christopher Reeves was an unknown when he starred in this role but he played both parts well.  Everything from the music of John Williams to the Fortress and Krypton itself worked well.  Seeing General Zod even if only for moments was great as well.    Gene Hackman was smooth and tricky as Lex Luthor, Margot Kidder playing a Lois Lane that would be unrivaled until years later in the TV series Smallville.  Jor-el played by Marlon Brando w...

Jedi vs Sith vs Sith 0

I picked up this series with hope of seeing a different era in the Star Wars saga and so far it's not been bad.  The drawings have been clear and the storyline's been easy to follow.    So why am I so uneasy about this series?  Is it because these are characters I can't place in the overall saga other than decades before Darth Bane's Rule of Two that will bring the Sith down?  The usual questions so early in the comic series.    I want to see if Kerra makes it back to a Jedi planet or encounters...

Legend of Huma 0

I first read the novel and loved it, telling of Huma and his battle both against evil and within himself over his love of the Silver Dragon Gwyneth.  Seeing the Trials he's put through before earning the Dragonlances and then the sacrifices made to defeat Takhisis....
