This kind of problem is always going to come up when you have several different characters wearing the mantle of guys like Flash & GL.

Oh yeah, definitely. But way back when I guess they felt Barry needed a sidekick, and when that sidekick grew up everybody (myself included) felt he deserved a chance to be the Flash.

'K, have to put in a word for Barry here. I'm sure that his death was indeed good for the story, and it cheapened things to bring him back, but come on, when has anyone in comics ever stayed dead, especially a major character like Barry Allen? Comic writers just can't help bringing characters back; it's not their fault, bless them. I think they're more to be pitied than censured.
I've only ever read the really (I mean really) old Flash comics, so I'm perfectly willing to believe that Barry is all wooden and everything in the new stuff. However, I'm more inclined to fault the writers for making him this way than for bringing him back in the first place.

Wally is the Flash. Barry Allen is a relic of a deceased age. He was a great hero, but his time as a character has come and gone. He's no longer relevant. Like Hal Jordan, he was killed for a reason. Granted Barry's death was handled with far more reverance, but the fact the readership had outgrown his character was still there.

Agree to disagree on this. Yes, okay, Wally's more powerful, but I'm sorry, for me that doesn't make him THE definitive Flash. With all due respect to Wally, Barry taught the kid everything he knows. There's more to being a hero than power. Not saying that Wally doesn't have it, I'm just saying that Barry is a tough act to follow. Plus, if the day comes when we've truly 'outgrown' the gentle boyscout kind of hero that Barry is, it's a sad day for the world. That being said, I still think it would have been better for the story to leave Barry dead. But we all knew that wouldn't happen.

Awesome, really fun to read and really funny, both of you. Can't wait to build on what we've been given here.

@Mistress Redhead: BTW, just realized that when I asked if I should wait for Hudson before posting again, I think I misunderstood the reply. Sorry, MR! :( Who plans to post next?

Thanks! :)

@Richter:
Very nice; we did need some comic relief.

Check out Hudson's post. It explains the heat (and it's flipping hilarious).

@Risky
 Thanks! :) I know I've always to go down a laundry chute, and it's something Jamie would love an excuse to do :P
As to the teleporting thing, maybe there's something that keeps people from teleporting into or out of tower during lockdown? I don't know, but good luck figuring something out.

looks like http://www.comicvine.com/news/dcs-young-justice-september-2011-solicits-teen-titans-static-shock-more/143195/ confirms he's still Batman's former sidekick!  woohooO!
Okay, yeah, I agree. Tim is so much more than just a foil for Batman, and he's a character that could stand alone, but you're right, it is cool that they're not changing that. In spite of what I said earlier about Bruce not needing Tim because he has Damian and presumably Dick and Jason, Bruce and Tim have a different kind of relationship.

Update! According this Bleeding Cool interview with Scott Lobdell, writer of the upcoming Teen Titans series, this isn't nearly so much of a reboot as I had suspected, but there WILL be changes to the continuity - such as the Titans never having met before. Check out the article, it answers a lot of questions.

Can we get a reason why he has those dumb wings now?

The above interview explains the wings. It certainly doesn't seem as if capes were forbidden, though. Plus, I'm with Avenging-X-Bolt, I actually like the new costume. It's not as good as the current Red Robin outfit (then again, what is), but it's friendlier, which I like.

Yes, it certainly looks like there will be at least a few continuity changes. On the subject of Tim's new costume the wings are cool in a way, but I'm not too sure about them.

Jamie glanced around her room, looking for anything that might give her an idea of how to escape. The purple and blue emergency lights reflected off her cell phone, and she picked it up hopefully. No signal, of course. Communications were cut. No one in the building could call for help, but hopefully they wouldn't need to; the base's automatic defenses should take care of everything, and if communications were cut off, that could slow down any intruders. Jamie flipped open her laptop; naturally, there was no internet.
Returning to the door, she began to pound on it, or rather, on the metal shutter that covered it. Three minutes later she had sore knuckles and no response to her knocking. Chances were no one could hear her over the braying alarms.
Lacking the patience to keep trying the door, she made a tour of her room, searching. She was sure there was something she'd missed. There had to be a way out, or at least a way to contact someone.
 She knew how to tap out SOS in Morse Code, but she didn't have any way to transmit it. The bathroom window was, of course, as securely shuttered as the bedroom window, and the air vents were far too small to allow a human to enter them. She wasn't nearly strong enough to break through the reinforced walls, ceiling or floor.
Her desperate gaze fell on the laundry chute, and Jamie laughed out loud. Of course, it was so simple! Quickly, she crossed the room to where the tiny door was set in the wall.
She couldn't fit in the chute, but that could change.She shifted her shape into a two-year-old, and, grateful that the laundry chute was low to the ground where she could reach it, pulled open the door and peered inside.
It was a metal shaft that ran straight down two stories to the basement laundry room. Hauling herself inside, Jamie grinned as she let herself drop; she'd always wanted to do this.
Jamie barely had time to savor the swooping feeling in her stomach before she landed in a large plastic bin full of dirty laundry. It was rank, but at least it was soft. Shifting back into her own form, she climbed from the bin and set off to find her teammates.

Seeing no one on the beach, Jamie tried a few back-handsprings on the soft sand before deciding that the beach was a boring place to be alone (for that matter, she considered pretty much anywhere a boring place to be alone). She headed home to train, instead.
