@gordyman I suppose this conversation also depends upon your purpose. If you're writing for fan fiction or a role-playing character, have fun creating King. If you are submitting a manuscript to Marvel, @squares and @batkevin74 are right that you might want to lean more towards originality than a character who seems awfully derivative of characters who have made similar contributions to the X-plot. I apologize for my earlier comments; they really didn't contribute to improving on your ideas. @batkevin74 is definitely right about the advantages of a good flaw. Even God in Preacher wasn't completely bullet-proof.

My unpopular opinions:

World Wrestling Entertainment's creative development needs a complete overhaul, pushing cruiserweights and women wrestlers (but not Divas) more while scrapping formulaic storylines.

Reformed villains and heroes tolerating violent antiheroes is getting stale in both of the Big Two universes.

My girlfriend contends that every meal I consume should not contain one or more of the following: guacamole, bacon, jalapenos, coffee, and chunky peanut butter. She may be a nurse, but I have a gut feeling about this that trumps her professional knowledge. Yeah! Yeah, that's the ticket.

I don't like that Alan Scott is gay. It's not homophobia, but a dislike of major changes to canon.

I kind of wish Bruce Wayne was gay. People have speculated for decades that he might be, so it really wouldn't change anything except that Child Protective Services might question why all of his young, adolescent male wards keep dying.

Darth Vader would make an excellent phone sex operator. "But what about all the heavy breathing?" That's a selling point, you philistines.

I liked Diamondback better as a villainess. The replacement in Secret War was okay.

In English, articles indicate the number and/or specificity of a concept. For example, in your backstory, "he has a huge obsession to breast," connotes that somewhere in the universe, a breast (singular) holds sway over your character. By adding an "s" to the end, making the word plural, you change the meaning to indicate he is obsessessed with breasts. "A" or "an" (use depending on whether the word starts with a consonant or a vowel) are used with non-specific nouns; "Here is $5. Go buy yourself a comic and leave me be." "The," conversely, is used for specific ideas, like "Please buy the issue of Green Lantern wherein Major Force stuffs Kyle's ladyfriend in a fridge." The can be used with plural ideas, but still show specificity. "The Skrulls are murderous, space-faring clods, but not us Kree. The Kree are your friends."

@ellie_knightfall:

The Blob was a member of Freedom Force. Guess some people found it easier to buy into the rhetoric that the Brotherhood had reformed.

What was the name of the overweight Valiant heroine?

I'd rather have my memories of Marvel erased and time-travel back to 1970 and experience everything new.

We are a community of fans. Who have you felt the most pride over contributing to, or what idea or concept?

For me, I thoroughly enjoyed revising Ivich, because of my love for anything even vaguely resembling Frankenstein's monster. I am also happy when I can update information about actual people I love, like Devin Grayson, Dave Dorman, and David Bowie, because I love writing nonfiction as well as comics and fiction.

What do you love contributing to?

He sounds like a berk. Is he meant to be a berk? Why does he spell Brian with a "y"? King and Covenant have implications I like, but I have to say that the cult-like group of followers and the all-powerful evil poomba is a bit overdone. Brother Blood in DC, Apocalypse, Magneto himself, others. McDonald has potential, ee yi ee yi oh, but I am with @squares; some revision is in order. And he should spell his name right. Brian is good, but Bryan is a berk name (Gods, I hope your name isn't Bryan).

The only "King" I knew was the one who was a dead-ringer for Wilson Fisk and lived in the sewers of New York. Completely different concept from this, except maybe for the adherents.

Later...

I've reached my daily post limit, so to respond to later posts, I either have to wait or time travel and edit this one. Pathetic, I know. @gordyman, metal bands that spell things with umlauts over odd letters and girls named Tiffany who emphasize that they end their name with an "I" have jaded me with regards to Bryans with "y"s. I was being a berk. Bryan probably wouldn't be a berk if he wasn't threatening the world and running away to islands with his prat followers. I like the name King and I like the group name Covenant, as I said... er... two paragraphs ago. The concept just seems derivative.

Someone Still Loves You, Boris Yeltsin is upbeat in a non-annoying way. You have a lot of 90s postpunk sensibilities, so you might cotton to The Polyphonic Spree. If all else fails, there's always David Bowie.
