I miss "Casting Call" from Wizard magazine, thanks for bringing it back XD
I don't know any of the actors listed but Craig and he looks like a great Deathstroke. The others look like they could pull off he characters they are posted for.....

That is the first thing I thought about as I was reading this, that was a great segment of that magazine and the folks here at Comic Vine should make it their own.

BTW, what about Anna Kendrick (who played Stacey Pilgrim) something about her just screams out "cast me in movie about young super-heroes!" and to all the people saying how some of these particular actors look "too old" let's be real this movie would be more "Tween Titans" than anyting.

Marz and Sejic were an amazing duo on Witchblade. I was never all that interested in the character before their run but during their time on series they not only got me interested in her but the Top Cow universe as a whole. I'll follow them to any title or character be it Magdelena, Tom Judge, or any of the artifact bearers.

Argh. I used the reboot to jump into the Lantern comics. Green Lantern is not that new user friendly. I feel like I am missing a lot of backstory. For example, I never even knew there was a Mystery of the Indigo Tribe.

Just start with Blackest Night then continue with Brightest Day: Green Lantern which will lead you immediately into War of the Green Lanterns and you'll be all caught up.

I would love to see a Marvel MMO similar to DC Universe Online. Mentors could include Cap (Meta), Thor (Magic), and Iron Man (Tech) on the hero side of things and Red Skull, Loki, and... (I'm hesitant to say Mandarin because he's never really seemed like tech villian to me despite his arch-nemesis being a tech hero, but I guess he'll do).

Like DCUO when you reach a certain level you get inducted into either the Avengers as a hero or the Masters of Evil as a villian. Write a decent story that could fit in with current (or at least fairly recent) comic continuity, and find some way to incorporate the X-Men in there somewhere and you've got yourself a game.

I think the architects behind the new 52 have already kind of shot themselves in the foot by saying everything began just "5 years ago." That's not nearly enough time for such major things to happen, i.e. the formation of the justice league, batman going through 3 other robins before being with his current one who just so happens to be his 10 year old son, the death of Superman (which we still aren't sure is canon or not, and then there's everything that has happened with Green Lantern. I really hope they find a way to clear up all this confusion.

As we all debate wether or not Parademons are people, G-Man (who ignited this firestorm) is sitting soewhere reading these post and laughing his tail off!

Off top I'm gonna say that I gotta go with what I think is the mainstream here and say that I do not now (nor have I ever) considered a parademon anything more than a mindless alien soldier that will do anything including kill it'self for Darkseid and for no other reason than it's what they were made for. As for those of you that seem oh so hurt that big bad Superman decapitated one of these poor little uglies, may I remind you that in the last issue Superman tells GL and Batman how he was attacked by one prior to the pair's arrival in Metropolis, I'm not saying that gives him justification in lobbing another parademon's head off, but being suddenly attacked by a strange unknown creature would put the best hero on edge. Secondly it isn't like these things showed up and said "we come in peace" they arrived and immediately did two things, 1. attacked the heroes and 2. started just snatching up people and flying off. Also if you look at the page prior to the one shown here (assuming those of you whining actually read the comic) you'll notice that when Supes first picks up the truck and starts swinging parts of the parademons immediately start coming off. To me that speaks more to them being more fragile then they seem, I mean you'd think something that looks like that could take more punishment. Third will those of you who are so quick to compare a parademon to a human being please tell me the name of the comic that digs so deep into the mind of one of these things because I'd love to read it.

As a black man and long time comic book fan/reader I find it interesting (or rather disturbing) when discussions of which superheroes of other races (not just black) deserve to get some screen time there are always several comments from individuals advocating why they should not. I mean don't get me wrong I also believe something like a Wonder Woman film is long overdue and that's where DC and Warner Bros. should focus their attention next but the focus of THIS particular thread is DC's black heroes.

I also believe that the GL movie needed to start with Hal Jordan in order to lay the ground work, but they could have established John as also being apart of that world like the Iron Man films did with Rhodey, and as someone already pointed out because of the JL and JLU animated series he is already a recognizable character and because of this his presence in the film was missed by a lot of people.

The broader point of this is that in the DC movie universe (however lacking it may be) african-americans are a super minority with practically no pressence as main characters and this thread simply suggest ways they can address this, by means of bringing some of it's more well known black characters to the big screen.

I may need to stop trade-waiting this title...

You really should. I waited until the first arc came out in hardback but started picking up the singles right at the start of this story arc and have been loving issue.

Wasn't a big Hulk fan either... until PLANET HULK blew my mind away.

If this new series is anything like that, then I'm SOLD!

I WAS THE EXACT SAME WAY! I've read the first issue of this new series (or relauch, or whatever they're calling it) and everything looks good to me so far, both the art and the story.
