@lordrequiem: You're right, it doesnt matter if it is or isn't a sequel,.... but its not. Its simply to make way for the Justice League movie so you read wrong. Also, what they mean when they say take inspiration from DKR, they mean that after the events of the Nolan-verse, Batman comes back in a similar shape or form, and Frank will help with that. He wont be around 55 years old. That just sounds dumb. So im not wrong. Maybe you should dig a little deeper...

Actually it is a sequel to Man of Steel, Zach Snyder said it himself except it will have Batman in it to get things rolling for the Justice League movie, a good example would be Iron Man 2 which got things rolling for the Avengers film. Superman should be the focus because it is his movie.

What the film needs is a better understanding of the source material, a better paced plot, a more coherent script and a tone down of the epicly destructive action. Then we're getting somewhere. And no more Superman killing or being mopey/emoish or dark and brooding. He's about inspiration, hope, empathy and striving to be better.

Second.

I third this ....

Problem you have here is an incredibly boring character(superman) and another who best serves the cinema dark, emotional and real (Batman) the two characters I can't see moulding well. What we really need in terms of buddy Hero film is probably Heroes for hire or Cable and Deadpool or Thor and Hercules. Pairings that look right and from the same circle of belief.

Superman isn't the problem you are, people like you who have no understanding of Superman. So they just call him boring because they either have never read a decent Superman story(or never bothered to) about him or they just can'tcomprehend Superman who is clearly complex and and incredibly emotional being. His been around for 75 years am pretty sure his an interesting character.

@muyjingo: Are you kidding me? He's the guy that was raised by salt of the earth farmers and imbued with a unshakable moral compass along with him cherishing all life, protecting the Earth and parts of the universe too and even sparing his enemies from lethal punishment. Evidently, this guy should be less likely to kill than the slightly unhinged Batman who doesn't kill to prevent him becoming like the criminals he's trying to stop.

Batman has a trauma with killing people. Superman was only told he shouldn't kill. Which one do you think has a bigger impact on a person's moral compass, both consciously and unconsciously?

Superman values life above anything else, and he can see the electromagnetic spectrum .... he can see that everyone and everything is connected. You are also most likely not to kill if you can hear and see the heart beats and the very last breath of your enemies.

I swear if Batman and Superman fighting is going to portray them as equals I'm gonna be so pissed. And consulting with Frank Miller, Christ he's the biggest Batman fan ever.

Yeah pretty much except Frank Miller isn't a Batman fan(there are plenty of Batman fans who aren't delusional about Superman vs Batman), Frank Miller is a Batman fanboy with little to no respect for other characters in the DC universe ........

@outside_85: Because evidently they feel they've figured out how to make this movie. Or every other movie should cease until they figure out WW?

Obvious cash cow is obvious.

Meanwhile some of use are waiting for WB to pull its head out of it's ass and stop pretending WW is more difficult than a superpowered alien or a nut in a batsuit.

Exactly ..... Marvel did Thor why the F*** can't they do Wonder Women, I would rather have a trinity movie then Superman vs Batman which seems like what it's going to be.

@mia26: Fool. The Dark Knight Returns is one of the greatest books (not just comic books) ever.

This is why people like you should not make movies or suggest any ideas because all your ideas will be based on pure fanboyish needs.

Hollywood should have sense and learn from Green Lantern. NEVER LISTEN TO OUR FANSERVICE LETTERS AND SUGGESTIONS!! WE ARE TERRIBLE AT FILM IDEAS!!

Just get a great director (Nolan level or higher) and ask them to make a great movie. That's what DC should focus on. Not like Marvel. Don't have to be way too loyal with the source material. Just keep the tone, theme, and origins in check and we should be fine. We don't want to watch a film soley based on the comics. We want something new from the movies. We want to see these characters portrayed in a modernistic/realistic way. SHOW US these characters. Make them real and understandable. Just make a damn good movie and don't care about comicbook fanservice. It just makes shit

The Dark Knight Returns was a piece of crap, both Batman and Superman act like a bunch of idiots and both are out of character, the first two books are fine and those two books are mainly why this book is rated so high and of course the fact that it showed that comic books could be a bit more sophisticated, but Miller destroys that with the last two books that seem to have been written by a 12 year old fanboy on steroids it's some of the funniest yet most idiotic and childish events I have read in a comic book that takes it's self so seriously. Am not sure why you would use TDKR in a Superman movie especially in the world they've built, how are you going to convince that Batman could actually beat Superman after they have seen Superman and Zod fight .... you as always would have to suspend all sense of disbelief and dumb down Superman to actually believe Batman could win, even with Krytponite. Also fool and Fanboyism ? hmmm .... why because am not a fan of TDKR? you do realize that am not the only Batman fan who thinks that book is a piece of crap. Am fair and if your going to write Batman and Superman(World's Finest) you better write them right and fair, and if your going to do a Superman vs Batman fight then you better be fair and logical and not let your idiotic fanboyism get in the way as Frank Miller obviously did . "Just keep the tone, theme, and origins in check and we should be fine. We don't want to watch a film soley based on the comics. We want something new from the movies. We want to see these characters portrayed in a modernistic/realistic way. SHOW US these characters. Make them real and understandable." LOL ..... isn't that what I suggested, didn't I say to NOT use Miller's piece of dog shit TDKR .... that's all the movie advise I offered not to use that shitty story just to service Batman fanyboism, so what are you trying to say ... that your the fool and fanboy ? "Fool. The Dark Knight Returns is one of the greatest books (not just comic books) ever." LOL .... you obviously need to read more and get your head out of those twilight books . "Hollywood should have sense and learn from Green Lantern. NEVER LISTEN TO OUR FANSERVICE LETTERS AND SUGGESTIONS!! WE ARE TERRIBLE AT FILM IDEAS!!" Hmmmmm .... no Green Lantern was a bad movie because it had two terrible writers and the wrong director, why would you get the guy who directed Zorro to direct a Sci-Fi superhero movie? most importantly why let those two idiots instead of letting Geoff Johns write instead of produce, I mean the guy even has film education and worked with Richard Donner(yet those two idiots are genius because they have manged to sneak into the hollywood while the best comic book writers are stuck writing comic books). "Nolan Leveled directors" .... meh ... I mean sure but they kind of already tried that, you need to get directors that understand the characters and can tackle this projects, not all of those directors are Nolan leveled (Nolan was just starting up when he got the Batman gig), you need up and coming directors that show promise and most importantly understand the characters. I would love to see more comic book writers involved in the writing department, because writing a comic is some what similar to writing a movie.

"No one liked the new Superman, boss."

"Put Batman in it."

Cha-ching!

this

LOL .... Plenty of people liked or loved Man of Steel, I liked it as a movie but hated it as a Superman movie. That's just me I know others who loved it and that's fine. Superman was a huge success it's the 2nd highest grossing comic book origin movie ever, out performing Batman Begins and Iron Man ..... it's success is pretty good considering the critics were against it, it had World War Z and most importantly Monster's University Inc to fight in it's 2nd weekend, the last Superman movie was Superman Returns and manged to surpass those obstacles. It was not going to make Iron Man 3 or Spider-Man 3 money because it's an origin movie while IM3 and Spider-Man 3 had just come off of big hits you know The Avengers and Spider-Man 3. Any success the sequel might have will of course be attributed to Batman because that just makes sense right ? Yeah no, but am sure he will add his chunk of cash to it, but at least 600 million of that sequel money will be Superman's.
