I agree, it is tough to follow or try to pick up everything to read, in the Marvel Universe it has been pretty much non-stop events since Civil War, and yeah right now there are 3 separate events, with no indicator on how they fit together chronologically. Schism is at least confined to the X-titles, but Fear Itself and Spider-Island each have crossover issues and mini-series tie ins, that adds a whole lot of books to someone who is trying to read it all. To me it seems like Marvel is actually screwing themselves out of sales, as I would think if they focused on one event instead of 2 or 3, people would feel more inclined to pick up more or all of the crossover titles or mini series tie ins.
At least DC has limited themselves to one event a year for the most part unlike Marvel, which has 2 more events spinning out of Fear Itself already announced, which will inevitably be followed by another "earth shattering" event in which they kill off more heroes.
I'm just point out that a group of people hating the cast of the X-MEN while have no problem with normal superheroes in the MU is a weak plot device nowadays, because they are scientifically the same.

I'm just saying that though they may not have the X gene, they are still in fact mutants by the scientific definition of mutation. So whether they were born with it, or exposed to cosmic rays, its all the same, powers manifested by a mutation, so really the mutant-hating humans that love spider-man or the fantastic four are morons.
