to be perfectly honest, i think this latest "willpower" feat can be written off as PIS... 
 
I mean, having willpower strong enough to navigate his way back to his own time? Forgive me while i puke... 
 
Batman may have above average willpower for a human, but i wouldn't say it's excessive...   as Sinestro patronizingly explained to Olliver Queen when he tried to use the Green Lantern ring, his will is cynical, and thus useless to the ring. I don't think anyone would argue that Bruce is a particularly optimistic guy. To me that's what separates Batman from guys who actually could wield the ring regularly, like Hal and Kyle.

Just thought i'd check, are you actually old / mature enough to buy these comics and understand the themes behind them? 
 
If you think they're overrated, then perhaps you're not understanding them properly
