Oh dear God, Pixie is WELSH fer crying out loud!  It's bad enough that she spoke like a flipping 1980's Valley-Girl, but the wannabe Peckham council estate is absolutely atrocious!   Every time I'm even remotely curious to see if this series has improved, I'm constantly reminded of how bad it is.  So bad it actually makes me feel angry!

Pixie is such an addict. First they were all huffin pixie dust and now she is hooked on pain meds.

And the art is definitely not my favorite.

So, I'm in the minority here. I know Pixie is Welsh, but Slang is Slang. It spreads like a horrible little memetic virus. Mind you, Munted hasn't been in dialect around here for...well, probably the better part of a year, maybe longer.

Well Lush, however, I think was made popular in Wales by Gavin and Stacy so...Gillen watches too much GOLD?

Pixie and Hope basically come to an understanding when Hope practically begs Pixie to stay on Utopia instead of go to Westchester with Wolverine. It was actually a really nice scene.

Why would Hope need to Pixie to stay? She's already Cyclops' little go-to teleporter (as the other New X-Men kids pointed out in ReGenesis). If anything, Cyclops is using Pixie's crush on him as a means to control her... Hope wouldn't need to be involved in Pixie's decision to stay on Utopia.

Still, how can Pixie help in reaching New Lights? I mean I think she's a cool character and she's one of my faves, but I don't think she can have any type of influence in New Lights. maybe she'll be Hope's teleporter?

Did they really need to justify this? Cyclops could have assigned her just as easily. And with Illyana, it's not as if they have to rely on just Pixie.

Personally, I'm just disappointed that they're still playing this "Hope has to be there to finalise their powers" angle. Its a lame twist to keep the mutant population from getting out of hand. But with a couple of hundred mutants running around, I find it hard to believe that they're all practising safe sex... why not just breed a few more muties? It'd make Hope redundant ;)

I think it was perhaps meant more to build solidarity between the two of them and show that they weren't going to turn the Gabriel incident into a soap opera as much as they used it to justify Pixie staying.

This issue was very much (IMO) about Hope's humanity and how she is not infallible. There was actually a scene between her and Laurie that I absolutely loved. It was the most human and most likable that she's been written (other than that issue of Uncanny with her and Wolverine) since she and Cable came back to the present.

Hope is getting to be quite a bit redundant, though. They're falling into bad plots with her and she's been subject to some pretty bad characterization. I just hope (pun not intended) that they start writing her more like they did in this issue. I'm interesting to see how the new writer's going to handle her.

Issue 12 and the entire series of Gen X has rocked so far IMO. Good balance of action and humour. Issue 12 was excellent. Pixie being on the team makes a lot of sense to me and I can't say I mind the slang that she's been using. Okay, so maybe it's not 100% accurate with regards to being Welsh, but it's at least an attempt and one that's not too far off. Least Gillen hasn't got her like some people write Gambit - "Dat some bad medicine dere cherie" - THAT is hugely annoying! Can put up with the odd 'munted' or 'tidy' here or there in comparison.

@papad1992: I agree. I actually think that Schism drew a lot of parallels between the two teams (New X-Men and Five Lights) and set the older ones up in a good position to play mentor.

Which is why I'll be reading mostly "Blue Team" comics (X-Force, X-Factor, X-Men Legacy, Wolvie and the X-Men) that side seems much more creative, new and fresh!! I love how most of the X-Students went with Logan!! (Mercury, Dust, Anole, Rockslide, Bling, Trance...) But Surge, Prodigy, Armor, Hellion, Gentle... r staying with Scott!!!! While Loa, Pixie, and Elixir are unconfirmed!!!

Well No-Girl really can't go anywhere so I guess she's staying on Utopia!! And why is Pixie doing a Magik move?? Magik always did the teleporting from the ground up with her hands in the air, while Pixir just teleported with a pink aura around her and whoever else she's carrying... Me Confused!!!

As far as I read it, Pixie is an official member of Hopes team now. She's basically their transport. Hope's reasoning being that her team need to get to new lights way quicker in order to avoid more tragedies like the one in Sheffield.

As far as I read it, Pixie is an official member of Hopes team now. She's basically their transport. Hope's reasoning being that her team need to get to new lights way quicker in order to avoid more tragedies like the one in Sheffield.

Makes sense... get to them more quickly, more lives to live!! Good strategy on Hope's terms!!! But I feel like Pixie wouldn't stay if she wanted to... does she like Gabriel!?! If so, then that's definitely a reason to stay!!
