When Norman Osborn was given control of H.A.M.M.E.R. and decided to make the Thunderbolts into his personal hit squad, Melissa became a liability. Under Osborn's orders Bullseye cornered Songbird with a blade to her back, telling her to ask him to kill her. She managed to deflect him, and escaped as the entire remaining Thunderbolts team attempted to kill her. However Bullseye attacked her and hit her arm with his sai. Swordsman appeared and saved Songbird from Bullseye after he cornered her once again, and after Swordsman faked her death, she departed.

Regaining the armor after the war, Gruler joined the Penance Council of the V-Battalion and assisted in hunting down Nazi war criminals.

Black Mamba was at Justine's Symkarian mansion when Silver Sable, Hawkeye, Songbird, and several traitorous members of the Masters attacked the Cowl. Black Mamba used her Darkforce powers to shut down Cyclone, and the other Cowl loyalists defeated the other, though Hawkeye went missing. They were placed in cells, but Songbird used her harmonic powers to knock out Mamba, who was guarding the cell alongside Hydro-Man. Cowl was defeated, and S.H.I.E.L.D. agents took her and the Masters into custody (Thunderbolts I #67-68-69).

  • Formerly known as Water Wizard, Aqueduct is a super-villain with the ability to manipulate water.

  • Edward Lavell took the mantle of the Eel from the deceased Leopold Stryke, and has upgraded his armor and technology to enhance his criminal lifestyle.

  • M'Baku is a worshipper of the sacred White Gorilla who was exiled from Wakanda because of his actions in leading the cult and betraying The Black Panther. A sacred ritual gives him apelike strength, agility and stamina, earning him the name Man-Ape.

  • Joystick joined the Crimson Cowl's Masters of Evil in their massive extortion scheme, hoping to regain some of the money she'd lost in the collapse of the Great Game. She was one of the Masters ambushed and stripped by the Thunderbolts as part of their plan to inflitrate the Cowl's base. After being pounded unconscious by Songbird, Joystick was left in a heap with a few of her teammates. (Thunderbolts I#24-25). Later Joystick joined the Thunderbolts and became Songbird's team mate.

  • Bloodtide is an Atlantean mutate and a member of the Fathom Five.

  • Dragonrider would join the sea-dwelling terrorist group called the Fathom Five. Fathom Five is the superhuman strike force that serve a renegade faction of Atlantean extremists called At'la'tique. Fathom Five consist of their leader Llyron, Sea Leopard, Bloodtide, Manowar and Dragonrider.
