Favorite Male Characters

My favorite fictional men from all around.

List items

  • His willpower would put all Green Lanterns to shame, but he's doomed for it.

  • Funny without being a buffoon.

  • The devil with a smile.

  • A great ultimate evil.

  • Like a Noir version of Beast.

  • A good cop in a bad city.

  • He does it all-- and with style. King of the 90's anti-heroes. His endless brooding makes his inclusion here tentative.

  • An interesting newer twist on an old sort of character concept.

  • Much more than you'd expect at a single glance. Very well written.

  • One of the best mentors and an all around saint.

  • One of the best team leaders in comics. Good taste in women.

  • A much needed rogue amongst the boy-scouts of the X-Men.

  • Love his intelligent and bestial duality.

  • Now that's how you do "millionaire playboy".

  • Great visual juxtaposition between him and Spiderman.

  • Possibly Spiderman's most brutal (and insane) villain.

  • My first superhero experience. Ultimate symbol of all that is morally good in comics.

  • Sarcastic, but genuine and extremely loyal. More than just a meat-head.

  • A classic villain done on a galactic scale. He's going to tie Carol Ferris to some train tracks one day, I just know it.

  • His walking the line between mindlessly rage and morose clarity strikes just right chord.

  • He seems like a cartoony joke, until he reminds you just how frightening and dangerous single minded greed can be.

  • My favorite of Batman's rogue-gallery: His desire to eliminate crime matches Bruce's, but his methods step even farther. Superb in the hands of the right writer.

  • The other end of the scale from Ra's: Obsessive genius. I'm really enjoying the reformed version of the character.

  • A study in causing and experiencing fear.

  • His easy-going, high-adrenaline, slacker personality would be cliche if it wasn't just a coping mechanism. The fact that is it, adds some nice depth.

  • James Bond with a larger ego.

  • His calm brutality combined with his power make him one of the most frightening characters I've ever seen.

  • Brutal, tragic, and very authentic.

  • A great spin on your average detective.

  • An inventive interpretation that hits both the insanity and horror of the character just right.
