When will scientists get it that a crater doesn't always form on impact! Sometimes an impact is so great the damn Earth splashes on top of the hole, hiding the crater from surface view.
I think that was a theory implemented for the Permian Extinction. That and how global warming ( not slapped on humans for once) superheated the coasts, causing life to follow a sequence that lead to 95 percent of life going bye-bye.
Any evidence to back this up? It directly contradicts the science behind high speed impacts.
