This movie was one of Tom Cruises best films. In this film Cruise plays Ron Kovic, who since he heard Kennedy's "Ask not what your country can do" speech. So years later he is a Marine and is in Vietnam. He goes through his own struggles after he is shot and paralyzed from the chest down. After what seems like years recovering in a veterans hospital he returns home to see all the changes. He even finds out that his brother is an anti war activist, and so is the girl he has loved since he was little. He ends up going to Mexico to discover himself, and goes to see the family of a soldier in his unit that he accidentally killed do to the mass confusion of a NVA ambush. Near the end Kovic becomes anti war as well. End the end Kovic truly was a patriot. This movie at least for me is about how war can change a man. I give it a 5/5
