The nutrimatic drink dispenser had decided it hated Marvin. The feeling was mutual. As Marvin passed, the drink machine squirted him with its almost entirely non-tealike drink. Marvin slipped in the puddle and landed on the floor. Finding this utterly uncomfortable, he stayed there. Things couldn't get much worse after all. But Marvin had forgotten about Zem. Zem was the one thing that was always able to make Marvin even more unhappy. Zem skidded down the hallway and landed on Marvin, sloshing the non-tealike substance everywhere. Marvin looked at him disdainfully, and turned off.
A while later, Marvin turned himself back on. The nutrimatic drink machine greeted him with more gelatinous brown slime. Marvin sighed and got up. Judging by the sounds from the bridge he was needed to pick up a piece of paper or something. Unhappily he trudged through the cheerful door and looked blandly upon the chaos. Then he turned around and went back to lie in the puddle of congealing sludge. Better than a new adventure, that was for sure
To make matters worse, Zem was singing. He must have been the absolute worst singer in the world. Marvin hit his head against the wall a few times. Before he could do any permanent damage, the ship landed. With a disgustingly sweet sigh, the door opened. Marvin trudged through onto the plains of Algol. Next to the ship Marvin found a mud puddle. He lay down in it to express his misery. From there he listened to the conversation between Time Walker and the Algolians. They didn't seem to like the Voyagers very much. Then again, Marvin didn't like them. He got out of the puddle because he was getting too comfortable. He was just in time to hear the Algolian king issue his last command. "Kill them." Good luck with that. Marvin was still under warranty. The Sirius Cybernetics corporation were horrible people for having a warranty that lasted that long. And without even fixing the diodes in Marvin's side first. Not planning to be of any use in the battle, Marvin went and lay in another puddle.
