Try to help the world in some sort of way.

there would be no sex slavery, no gangs, no terrorist and i would never get up to make my sandwiches and i would do it all from my couch that make float around

Probably end up doing an Iron Man and privatizing world peace. I guess I'd also have a go at intergalactic exploration.

To start I would search for countries who are in civil war and help the good side win it and then go exploring the universe...hoping to find a worthy opponent, cause winning all the time can get boring pretty quick.

There is a few other things like: if the government wants to take my ring in order to replicate it I will make sure they wished they hadn't demanded it or even asked for it. I would create duplicate rings for various trusted allies...1 ring for each country(except 50 for USA...1 more each state)...I then would have the world protected. And if any go bad I just will the ring to disappear...I AM THE GREEN LANTERN!

Are you implying my answer is unacceptable? (I thought you would appreciate the extra bumpage) I'm not saying I wouldn't toy around with some grand adventure later, but I'd likely start with menial tasks such as cleaning up. Then maybe move on to help a mechanic hoist an engine or something like that. After that I'd focus on local crime-busting in my neighborhood. Only an idiot would put himself into the middle of a war without thoroughly testing his new found powers first. But the first thing I would do, is probably clean.

This^ However, before I aim to do these feats. I'd take some time to master the ring as well as myself.

Having power and using it are not always one in the same. Perhaps I'd grown weary of this world. Sot to see what's really out their.

Fly into a black hole and survive,hey if superman can do it then I'm sure a Green Lantern could too.

Save the people of the world(who need it).Persuade or force the world leaders to let me be allowed everywhere and have the armies/law enforcement off my back.Become extremely wealthy by obtaining proof of other life in the universe. I would have Ion entity so I wouldn't age or need a lantern so I could create a central battery on earth to power the world. After that I'd make weaker rings and send them to find worthy people to work with/for me.

Create a construct of Mxyzptlk and have him magically give me toon force.

i would say

end terror on earth bring the best thing that is close to peace as possible

cuz really there is always be some asshole who thinks he knows better

and go make sure my sector is secured and safe
