Or my speculations on what would happen to a young Kal-El if he ingested the Super Soldier Formula which created the Sentry, with a twist.

Since we are already speculating, let us allow our imaginations to take a leap of faith and wonder how could, unassuming Xander Harris tweak his Chaos altered Halloween costume? Within the confines of my ever overactive creative process, Xander wants a costume with a little bit of umpf. And what better costume than one representing the latest and best portrayal of the number one superhero, All-Star Superman?

However, young Harris is looking for that particular characteristic which will make his costume unique. So he decides to write a background story for his Kryptonian uniform and the hero who wore it.

According to Xander, and following the plot of All-Star Superman:

Once done rescuing the first solar mission Superman stops by Dr. Leo Quintum's lunar laboratories so as to undergo a thorough physical and thus determine if what his superhuman senses are already telling him is indeed the truth. He is dying.

Unknown to Superman, Quintum and his cohorts have been developing a serum which should, in theory, grant a regular person superhuman abilities on par with Superman. A serum developed in secrecy only as safety measure if Superman was injured or heaven forbid, died. Quintum theorizes his Super-serum should be able to stabilize Superman's hyper-charged physique and thus prevent the complete cellular breakdown which has already begun to afflict the Last Son of Krypton. Choosing to trust the scientist, Kal-El ingests the serum; the consequences are more than either of them expected.
