All Kryptonians adopted by the Kents originate from realities in which Krypton was the equivalent of Viltrum (same basic power set) nad their additional abilities are the result of extensive gene-engineering, and thus, not dependent on stellar radiation. Which is not to say they cannot utilize stellar radiation to supplement their powers and go the extra mile.
