no, she wouldn't. under ground, bury under him, pull beneath the ground, and crush. if she can feel a heart beat through a wall, she could sense the things loud arse, miles befor he moved.

The Thing will slowly make his way to Toph, throwing various objects which are mostly composed of rocks and metal, so they are just temporary distractions for Toph (He could get ahold of a tree though, which would make it a little more difficult for Toph). Once the Thing gets close enough, Toph would shield herself in rocks, which the Thing easily smashes through and grabs hold of Toph's neck and breaks it, GAME OVER, the Thing wins."
