" Well that was just amazing. Looks like they tryin' t'get a lil' story thing goin with these trailers. That's cool. "
There's supposed to be a little more of a connected story this time around, but with close to 40 characters from various different universes and DLC characters joining the fray after-the-fact it'll be hard to really craft anything sensible or plausible, but it's cool that they're making an effort. One of the pre-order packages includes a comic book which might have a bit of story... but probably mostly fight scenes, dialogue, and lots of posing- which, honestly- isn't any more than I expect from this game genre.
Either way, though, the production values on the trailers is waaaay more effort than Capcom has traditionally put into its fighting games pre-SFIV revival, so it's nice to see the Versus series get equal treatment.
Very coool. Just saw the list of achievments here http://www.xbox360achievements.org/game/marvel-vs-capcom-3/achievements/ . anyone else curious about the X-Factor achievment?
@Nefilim927: The X-Factor mechanic was revealed a while back. In essence, it is an absolute interrupt which gives your character a damage boost for a limited period of time once per match... that means you can use it to break a combo, extend your combo, act as a threat display, or just do raw damage for a come-behind victory. Originally, the X-Factor could only be used with your last character, then the duration of the X-Factor was based on burning your "red" health (damage that could be healed if you swapped out), currently, it seems like you can do it at any time but it's a fixed duration which lasts no matter which character on your team you tag in or out. I think the original concept was too defensive so they opened it up a little.
In any case, the point is that X-Factor is the name of the in-game technique and probably has nothing to do with the X-Men franchise / characters.
