Magick sat in her room, jaw dropped, as she heard what was being said on the little T.V that sat on her desk. The message ended, but Magick still sat, waiting for a guy to pop up on screen and yell that the entire nation had just been punked. Magick was still in total shock when a figure came bursting through her door. She swung around franticly, grabbing for her knife. Crysta, her friend and teammate, looked at her like she was crazy.
"I...thought you where someone from the government." Magick muttered, setting her knife down of the dresser.
"So I take it you've heard then?"
"Yup."
"What are we going to do about it?" Magick looked at Crysta, confused.
"There isn't anything we can do. We're already fugitives. It's not like this law changes anything much from our standpoint. It's our friends that I'm worried about. The hero ones. They don't deserve to go go to jail for trying stop villains like me and you." Magick smirked, then went on with her speech. "We can't exactly attack the government. You know we don't have the man power. And joining a sort of resistance would probably make things worse for us. We should probably move our base though. We've been here to long, and it's probably getting suspicious." Crysta made a sad face as Magick said said this.
"Awwww. I wanted to start a coe." She pouted. Magick motioned for Crysta to follow her. She led her down stairs to the living room (If one could call it that. It had a T.V, and rug, which people sat on, but that was it.) where the rest of the team was still absorbing the news. Power Surge was letting out a long strand of expletives that Magick had to wait for two minuets to end. Then she spoke up.
"You all saw the T.V. We've gotta relocate. It isn't safe here anymore." There where mixed reactions from the team. Some of them seemed to agree, but others where angry at the decision. Crysta began to speak.
"Um. I don't know if i could find it still....but, when I was little My parents and I used to live in this house in the middle of nowhere. It's kind of invisible, and it makes any one in it invisible. That would be a good hiding place. Probably."
"How come you didn't mention it before?" Magick asked her. She didn't mean to sound accusing to her friend, but it was a good hiding place, and they could of been using it all along.
"Well... It has really high power magic guards in place. Before i was worried that we might get hurt if we even got near it, but you know how my powers have increased lately, and I think now I could handle it." She muttered. Magick felt like she wasn't being told the whole truth, but she obliged anyway.
"Okay. It's settled. We'll head over there first thing tomorrow morning."
Two days later
Magick flew franticly over the giant buildings, going as fast as her wings could carry her. Still, she felt the S.H.I.E.L.D agents gaining on her. About an hour ago she had ventured out side for a few minuets to stock up on groceries since the new base didn't exactly come installed with food. Next thing she knew, she was being chased by the government. She sent a magic thought wave to Crysta, hoping that it would be received. I'm in trouble. Big. Near downtow- her message was cut off as se felt something hard slam in to her head. She succumbed to unconsciousness.
Magick awoke to a room she knew all too well. She had been captured, and was sitting in a holding cell.
