Spider-Man hands down. He's not doing what he does for revenge or a hatred to villainy or to become something he is not. He doesn't do what he does for the glory. The guys life is ruined on a regular basis just by putting on his uniform (And yes, I do call it a uniform) He does what he does because he likes to genuinly help people. He puts others before him in everything that he does. As Peter or Spider-Man, he is selfless....... Batman and Superman are obvious ones up there in the top few best, but I feel Spider-Man differs because he is not the best at what he does. He isn't a billionaire. And he has been doing it since he was 15 years old. He became a decent man in his teens. He had no training, he just got on with what he thought was the right thing to do. Awesome!!

You should start at Civil War. It wasn't to everyones liking but it's a great focus point to start at even if you dislike it. I enjoyed it, it's what got me back in to comics. Avengers Dissassembled is a good point to start too but thats if you intend to buy everything from then. That would cost you a lot of money and since the dissassembled arcs, the Marvel universe has move on. Civil War still comes up occasionally in stories. The repurcussions of this story lasted. It will introduce you to quite a few characters and will show you some of the dark side of characters like Tony Stark being an A-Hole.

I couldn't find the specific board for DareDevil, so apologies if this thread is in the wrong place.. ..DareDevil has always been on my "to buy one day" list. just spent about £150 to get the Marvel Knights collected editions volumes 1-13. Oh my God, how have I only just started reading DareDevil? The first one, Guardian Devil didn't really do it for me. It was slow and I don't think it reached the hype that I had read about it..... But as the stories go on,they are amazing. He has quickly moved up to being in my top three favourite heroes. I finished my favourite one up to now last night, Volume 12, 'Decalogue' absolutley loved this story even though DareDevil isn't in it that much........ So my question is, what are your favourite DareDevil stories? Do they get even better. I read Shadowland was a pile of crap, but I'm still 10 or 11 volumes away from that.

I retract my statment about Amadues Cho. I just read that Reed Richards himself said that Amadues Cho is the seventh most intelligent person in the Marvel world.

Bob Reynolds - The Sentry. Got his powers from being the worst kind of addict. He was not addicted to any specific kind of drug, just addicted to get off his face high on anything he could get his hands on. He resorted to robbing peoples houses for drug money and to steal house hold cleaning products to get high. He broke in to a lab and downed anything he could accidently drinking an experimental version of the Super Soldier Serum but a thousand times stronger. It should have killed him, freak accident he survived..... And you all know the rest. He became the biggest pain in the ass in the Marvel world for a while.

From our, the readers point of view, you make a valid point. From Marvel, the business point of view there are probably not enough being released each month. It's a billion dollar industry. The writers and artists do what they do because they love it. The big guys on top, the share holders, these just want more money and revenue. I do agree with the market being saturated but the plus side, it's good to say there will never be a shortage.

I just assumed it created somekind of time travel and he was threw in to the future which would set him up as the villain for Captain America 2 if it is set in modern times. I may be way off, but it was the first thing that occured to me.
