I have only been collecting/reading the outlier titles from DC (other than Green Lantern stuff) so far. I just have too many Marvel titles on my plate! I really like how well thought out your choices on this list are! :)
@thanosrules: Ha thanks. I guess given the small amount of comics I buy, I thought it would be best to pad it out with my thoughts on the series and why I chose to buy it in the first place.
I agree with your entire pull list except for two. I don't really care for Fantastic Four as much as I once did and I'm pretty sure you can guess the other which I don't approve of.
And yet, I still pick it up solely for the SHAZAM follow-up.
@Deranged Midget: I gathered you would disapprove of my top choice. Yet as much as I like the main story (well the Villain's Journey anyway) the Shazam back up is still better I'll grant you that. And no Fantastic Four love? Hickman's done wonders for the title which makes me regret the fact I only picked it up in June at Fantastic Four #607. When Fraction takes over after Marvel Now, that's when I'll bail and move onto the Avengers that Hickman will be writing.
And IDW's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is supposed to be on the list as well yet for some reason the site where I order my comics from didn't add it. I have to email them about that now.
@Deranged Midget: I don't even have a local comic store. The nearest one is like over an hour away. I just order my comics from flipping Forbidden Planet who I'm sure are supposed to have TMNT yet can't add it to my, well technically my dad's order list.
@Lvenger: Wow, that blows mate :( My comic shop is a good half hour from my house but it's an enjoyable drive with some nice scenery :P Always feel relaxed when I drive there.
@Deranged Midget: Whereabouts do you live in Canada that has nice scenery? Then again almost everywhere in Canada has nice scenery. :P To be honest though the worst part about ordering online is that I get the books a month late. So I still haven't read how the Court of Owls finishes or started reading the Lizard arc in Amazing Spider-Man amongst all the other awesome storylines. It takes a lot of restraint not to look up on the Internet what's happened in the series I read.
@Deranged Midget: Haven't started No Turning Back and I've only read one issue of Morrison's latest arc. Hence why I didn't click on the Nimrod scans a while ago. I waited to see them myself. I didn't much like issue 9 but issue 10 was the best one yet! Is Action Comics 11 any better? I hear Batman's involved!
@Lvenger: Issue 9 was involving the alternate dimension Superman was it not? Issue 11 is by far my favourite! It's really awesome to see Clark create a new identity after his "death" in issue 10!
@Deranged Midget: Yeah that one. Morrison went a bit over the top with that one. Far too convoluted. But I can't wait to read them. I got an email saying they were on the way just now. :)
@Lvenger: Yeah issue 9 was an awkward side step from the main arc. It was kind of interesting but made no sense. Nice! You'll love them! Let me know what you think!
one thing you and me have in common other than the love of superman is that I like to not get so many titles. by march of 2013 i will have 7 monthly pulls and 1 event( Age of Ultron ). I love justice league but you know you cant please everyone. indestructible hulk is flat out amazing by the way and i reccomend Thor god of thunder. it's a great read. anyway's great list and those are some great titles. it would be so greateful if you would take a look at my lists. :)
@SuperHulk8642: I would like to get more but since my dad buys me comics via a subscription order, it wouldn't be right to ask for more or overdose. So I limit myself in what I buy. And I'm following God of Thunder atm. It seems like an awesome read! Plus I'll be picking up Indestructible Hulk by issue 3. Thanks for the positive comment! I'll be sure to check out some of your lists too!
@jonny_anonymous: If it weren't for me going to uni soon, I'd be diversifying this pull list up like nobody's business :P But unfortunately, uni's gonna force me to keep only the bare essentials. I'd be going for Image before Valiant anyway after IDW and Dark Horse respectively for TMNT and Star Wars.
@theincrediblesuperhulk8642: Yeah but I'm not a fan of Zero Year rehashing the origin anyway. Tomasi's title has been getting better since the DOTF tie in and outperforms Snyder IMO along with Layman's Detective Comics.
@lvenger: Oh okay. Their rehashing it so it would make sense continuity wise. they can't have Year One take place in the New 52 because it doesn't make sense. Although I disagree about Tomasi's Batman And out performing Snyder's Batman I do agree Layman's Detective is Amazing.
@super_phil: I used to have his title on my pull list. Court of Owls and Night of the Owls are good storylines but later on, with Death of the Family and Zero Year, Snyder's showing his flaws in writing Batman now. People on here have shown me the real flaws in his writing. He's a good writer but has a way to go to become a great writer.
@lvenger: ok fair enough for not reading batman I just thought you might like it what with having superman unchained on your pull list. I would appreciate it if you checked out my pull list
Lots of praise coming from Wonder Woman huh. Everything else I completely agree with (Action) and even though I'm not the biggest fan of Unchained, I pick it up still simply because I like to stay updated on events on his side of the universe.
@deranged_midget: Well Action Comics will be my go to Superman book once Unchained is over since Pak seems to be setting up a Doomsday/possibly Death of Superman arc. That reminds me, have you seen that Max Landis video where he talks about his pitch to DC for a Death of Superman story with Greg Pak? Is that what Pak's doing on his own now?

I watched a video where Landis discussed the Death of Superman and his thoughts about the character in general. Is this is a more recent video!?

That's the one I'm talking about. There isn't a more recent video I'm afraid. What did you think of it?

Umm, it was interesting and I liked his play towards how DC was acting... greedy to say the least. Being the most monumental moment in well... almost all of comics at the time and they so easily turned around on the decision. I mean, I'm glad that he returned and all but I don't think they should try the same thing again in the New 52.

It looks like they're going to though. If Doomsday's coming back in a big vicious return, someone's going to die. They always do with these events. And if not Superman, then that just means one of his long time supporting cast is up for grabs.

Hey, if it's meaningful and the story works then sure, I'll play along. I just hope it's not tossed up there just for the heck of it. I mean, if Soule and Pak are working together to bring the story to light, I'm intrigued I guess.

Pak at least is trustworthy enough to make this work and Soule can write a decent Superman like he did in Superman's cameo in Swamp Thing. It'll be my new top Superman title after Unchained so I'm hoping for good things.
@2cool4fun: Unfortunately not since I've made my views clear on several threads that as long as Slott is writing Spider-Man, I won't be picking it up. I cannot trust him ever again after the desecration that was Superior Spider-Man. It ruined the concept of Spider-Man ten times over in his run and disrespected fans of Peter Parker on several occasions. Thus, even though the series may get better for all I know now Slott will be using Peter Parker soon, I just don't want to spend my money on a series I'll be disappointed in. I was already getting disappointed in the post Ends of the Earth storylines so I think I'll give Amazing Spider-Man a miss until fresh creative talent invigorates Spider-Man with respect for the character. Hope the lengthy response answers your question.
@lvenger: Probably not, the only reason I have to pick it up was to see how he comes back. But on comicvine I can find out even without reading it. I just thought you might want to, since he is your favorite Marvel character.
