My 100 Favourite Superheroes

Title explains it all really. It's mostly DC and Marvel characters by the way with some TMNT and other characters thrown in as well. And two more things. One all my picks in this list were comic book characters first. And secondly I don't have that many anti heroes on here. I prefer more clear cut heroes who try and do as much good as possible, striving by a moral code to live by. Though there are a few on here.

I should have voted no just because of Hal : )

@Liberty:  It's all about which GL you grow up with and prefer the best. Every comic fan has 1.

LOL your ever where with the hal hate
Posted by PowerHerc

Nice top 10 favorites.  Eight of them are favorites of mine as well.
Posted by Lvenger
@PowerHerc:  Thanks. I know they're all DC/Marvel and don't have many other characters from Image, Dark Horse or any Indie Comics but I haven't been able to get into those as well as I do into these 2 which are the home of traditional superheroes imo. BTW which of your faves are on here, aside from Superman?
Posted by PowerHerc

Aside from Superman, Thor is one of my top favorite male heroes and Wonder Woman is one of my favorite females.

Hulk, Batman, Wolverine, Green Lantern (Hal) and Iron Man are all characters I really like, but they're not on the top tier.

I'm pretty much indifferent to this Flash (I like the Jay Garrick veresion).
I don't like Spider-Man.  Never relly did.
Posted by Lvenger
@PowerHerc:  Good choices. Jay Garrick is alright but having seen the JL cartoon and read Blackest Night, I have to say I prefer the other 2. BTW Have you heard about the new WW TV show? It just about manages to screw over the character entirely from the sounds of it. I mean she is not a coorporate executive by day and a vigilante crime fighter by night. WTF is up with this? Where is the real WW in all this madness?
Posted by PowerHerc
@Lvenger:
I'd seen posts stating NBC had announced a new WW series, but I had no knowledge of the show's specifics.  Wonder Woman as a corporate exec. sounds bad.  Making her a nighttime vigilante sounds even worse.  She's a myth-based super-powered champion of justice.  She should fight against powerful villains/threats in epic battles in full light before the eyes of the world.  But that's just my opinion.  If they insist on making her a street-leveler, they'll lose the real WW fans and the show will probably fail.  Of course, if this happens, the producers will never admit this was a mistake (their mistake).  They'll give some bullshit excuse about WW not being hip or accessible enough for today's public or some other such nonsense.  We'll see what happens I guess.  I know I'll at least check it out.

@PowerHerc:  I completely agree with everything you've said. They are ruining WW and conforming to the standards of the audiences instead of making something that is true to the character. WW fans will be alienated by this shit and the producers/execs will make some excuses like the ones you've said. It's just pitiful really IMO

@Liberty: Really? Your hatred of Hal Jordan is THAT strong? Just how much do you hate Hal?

Posted by Lvenger

@CaptainLantern76: One cannot fathom the depths of Liberty's hatred for Hal Jordan. Trust me on this one. He's for Guy Gardner all the way.

Posted by CaptainLantern76

@Lvenger: Indeed. I like all 5 GLs, but Guy is my least favorite. Hal is my favorite.

If I didn't know better, I would assume he hates Hal because his picture has Batman on it, which means he likes Batman, and Batman doesn't exactly like Hal after what happened in Zero Hour.

But I know better.

Posted by Lvenger

@CaptainLantern76: Liberty isn't going to like me saying this if he sees it but Guy's my least favourite as well. It's Hal, John, Kyle then Guy in terms of my favourite lanterns.

Posted by Liberty
@CaptainLantern76: I was teasing.  I wouldn't really have voted no.  I'm a Guy Gardner fan is all.
Posted by CaptainLantern76

@Liberty: Oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh ok, I was gonna say...how can you hate a fictional character THAT much? You'll probably dislike me for saying this, but I like Hal Jordan. He's my favorite. But I am a Guy Gardner fan as well. Heck, I'm a fan of all 5 Green Lanterns.

Good to see Ol' Ben Grimm getting some love!

@Deranged Midget: He is my favourite FF member. For all his rough edges, he has an undeniable charm and loyalty that makes his character awesome. Plus "It's clobberin time!" is the best comic book catchphrase ever!

@Lvenger: Couldn't agree more and you know how much I approve of the top three choices :P

There was I thinking you liked Captain Britain :P

Posted by Lvenger

@Backflip: Everyone knows the best British comic book character is Alfred. How can he be equalled? :P and I haven't read much Captain Britain stuff.

Great to see the list is done, and it is a great list!

Posted by Lvenger

@Icon: Thanks! Took me ages to think which characters I wanted in my list but it was worth doing in the end.

Posted by mrdecepticonleader

Nice list, congrats on getting it finished.

Any plans on doing one for villains ?

Posted by Lvenger

Thnks! I've started with my top 10 villians but I have to think of who else I want to put on there.

Posted by mrdecepticonleader

@Lvenger: Cool,do you think you will end up with 100 like this list or less?

Posted by Lvenger

@mrdecepticonleader: I don't know, possibly. Well maybe less but I can always aim for 100 like this list.

Posted by mrdecepticonleader

@Lvenger: Okay.

Posted by lykopis

This is a really cool list --- surprised I never noticed it til now. :)

Posted by Lvenger

@lykopis: Thanks! Took me a while to complete but I completed it at last.

I like the fact that Captain America is high on your list. Alot of people can't get past his name, and only see the "propaganda" aspect and not the other more awesome qualities, you do and that's awesome. The rest of you list is pretty awesome too!

Posted by Lvenger

@tg1982: I suppose being British I can look at Cap with neutrality and see whther he's an awesome character rather than being an American symbol. Same goes for Superman but I really don't think Superman should be considered an American symbol. He represents the best of humanity, not one part of it. I think he should change the American Way part of his slogan to something else like liberty but that's just me I guess.

Nice list. But i have a question, what is so likable about Reed Richards? i don't understand it personally. I ask you because he's ranked number 20.

Posted by Lvenger

@JamesKM716: What's likeable about Reed? He's a master of the art of prep time, he's kind, noble, a capable and an excellent leader with great strength of character. That's why I like him.

Posted by JamesKM716

@Lvenger: Alright, thank you.

Posted by darktiger

awesome list

Posted by Lvenger

@darktiger: Thanks! Your comment reminded me I was 2 short of 100 so I added the last 2 in.
