This new site layout sucks. Just in case it wasn't obvious.

Strange is probably the only one here who isn't Herald tier. Other than that solid list.

Another well thought out and well constructed blog Veshark. It was interesting to see who your favourite artists are as an aspiring artist yourself. Porter's style probably hasn't aged well like you said but when he put pen to paper in bringing Morrison's visions to life, it was top notch comics. Hearing your reasons for Bennett aside from his top tier work on Immortal Hulk was also fascinating (also cool to learn the origin of your avatar) Normally I would curse anyone for rating Kirby so low but given your praise of him in its full context, I'll let you off this time.

Epting and Frank are personal favourites of mine so I appreciate their inclusion on the list. I don't have a big problem with Quitely being so high on your list as I adore his All Star Superman art. I do however think his style can be a big hit or miss like in the case of his Batman and Robin art. Hitch being your number one sounds vaguely familiar. Personally my favourite work of Hitch's is JLA: Heaven's Ladder since the grand scale of the story is beautifully rendered by Hitch's larger than life panels and double page spreads.

Very cool list. Full of heavy hitters, A Listers and a lot of cool characters. If it were possible to write a roster this big, even on a rotating cast like JLU did, that would be so cool. I take it Hickman's Avengers roster was an inspiration for this list?

Either Bendis must have gotten bored at Marvel or they must have done something to tick him off. Those are the only reasons I think why Bendis would switch over to DC, though they are just speculation. Bendis has become synonymous with Marvel for his work at the company for over a decade now so his move to DC is definitely a major shake up in the comics industry. However, considering Bendis' recent comics work includes; Civil War II, Invincible Iron Man and Guardians of the Galaxy, which all sucked really hard, I am far from enthusiastic about Bendis' shift to DC. Whatever he's working in, even if it's a favourite character, I will be staying far away from.

Another great review TAS, didn't expect to see you gushing about how much you enjoyed but it made for a pleasant read all the same. I notice you didn't give a score though, how would you score Thor Ragnarok as a CBM?

@krleavenger: What I meant was you hate the overwanking of these characters, not the characters themselves Krle.

There's a lot of hype for King's take on the New Gods. Hopefully it lives up to it.

On the one hand I suppose that if Batman were to ever propose marriage to someone, one of those women would have been Catwoman. I'd like to think Silver St Cloud would have been another myself. So Batman asking Catwoman for her hand in marriage has a precedence. On the other hand, unlike other DC romances like Clark and Lois, Barry and Iris or even Hal and Carol, I can't buy these two ending up together at the end of the day. Batman has a precedent set up and usually that involves the writers making sure Batman doesn't end up being romantically satisfied.
