Yup, I listened to that the other day. On paper, it sounds hideous.

That said, the movie was delayed for re-writes, so that's worth taking into account.

We must be vocal and make sure Michael Bay never works on a movie ever again...I know it sounds harsh but the guy has the standard of a neanderthal, all he knows is sex and explosions. Which is odd since TMNT doesn't have nor should have either.

@k4tzm4n: I thought you'd have seen this before I did. And yes fortunately the script is being rewritten. But can you imagine what would have happened if Bay went ahead with this? The Foot would be a black ops squad led by Colonel Schrader, the Turtles would come from Dimension X and this hideous prophecy ruins the entire freakin film! Splinter is supposed to be their surrogate and only parent. Adding in the parents and warping the lore would have caused an outrage. I know you've written about how all us TMNT fans shouldn't worry but I can't help feeling that Bay is going to ruin another franchise or pull a last Airbender on us.

@BlueLantern1995: Sadly Hollywood will keep that guy in with a job and plenty of money ruining beloved franchises. TMNT is supposed to be a funny, action packed film that has at its centre the relationship of the four brothers and Splinter. This film would have ruined what makes the Turtles great.

The script leaked sometime last week and IGN made the post last night.

I loathe how prophecies are jammed into stories. It's lazy and has no purpose being thrown into everything sci-fi/fantasy related. Why can't they save the day without it being pre-determined for them?

To be fair, if the movie is terrible, Bay is hardly the man who should take the majority of the blame. Some? Totally, but I feel it's unfair that he's the sole focus, especially when Eastman, two other writers, and a director are all involved in the creative process.

And hey, I said don't worry until we get some official info. If that's terrible, then yeah, we have every right to worry. But until then, I'm doing my best to reserve judgement until we get a glimpse at the final product, and not what it could have been. So, here's to hoping... lol

@k4tzm4n: Last week? How come IGN only picked up on it yesterday then? And prophecies are so overused in sci-fi/fantasy films that they're really becoming cliches. I would have expected better of Eastman who's writing a supposedly awesome TMNT series at IDW so I suppose there's enough blame to go around. What if the teaser trailer or released images suck? Then can we go mad? :P

Also TMNT 13 arrived a couple of days ago. I know it came out at the start of August but I always get my comics a month later due to the damn ordering service. I have yet to read it but the solicit and cover look damn fine!

@Lvenger: I could have sworn it was last week. Perhaps it was the weekend? Anyway, that department is quite busy, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was under their radar for a bit.

Yeah, for the comic Eastman has credit with the story, but Tom Waltz is technically writing.

@k4tzm4n Reason why I blame Michael Bay is because of his work on Transformers another favorite franchise of mine. Surely the creative team their isn't the same. What I see is a guy who influences his way through everyone and ruins the franchise for explosions and sex. Seriously that is all he knows...

Sure the other people are to blame but he is the guy behind the scenes...surely the guy behind the scenes is the biggest offender...

@k4tzm4n: Well I don't want to jump to conclusions over rumours yet and your blog reminded me not to go mad over little tid bits of gossip. So I'm not mad with Bay yet. I will complain if the teaser trailer or images seem iffy though! And yeah delays are no fun. Justice League 12 wasn't released till this week so I either have to wait for it to arrive next month or spoil myself online. Normally I'd do the former but given the significance of this issue, I'm opting for the latter! :P

@BlueLantern1995: To be fair, though, Bay was directing Transformers and such isn't the case here (now he's producing). I'm not saying you aren't allowed to dislike the man... I'm just saying we should wait and see how the official product looks ;)

@Lvenger: haha, sure! If the official images/trailers looked terrible, then by all means let the internet hear your war cry. But even at that point, I'm still going to have some hope and wait for the film itself before ranting and raving. After all, I was pumped for Wolverine and thought the trailer was fantastic, then....well, you saw how that turned out.

@k4tzm4n: Excellent! Now I must find a suitable Internet war cry for the occasion. Yeah Wolverine bombed no doubt about that. Though I'd say he deserved it after he stole the limelight in 3 frickin X-Men films! It's called X-Men not Wolverine guest starring the X-Men.

I saw this earlier but there's no true indication that this guy is telling the truth. Albeit, it is good news that they delayed the film and are working up a new script but I'm still remaining neutral until I see footage.

@Jorgevy: I know. Now that I look at it, Bay did recycle the plot of Transformers. A lot. There's even a prophecy just like in Transformers. And pancakes can be hard, especially the flipping part. I wouldn't trust Bay to make me a pancake let alone reboot the TMNT movie franchise.

That may be the case but there's no way of knowing if the link I found was the true script. The real one could be even worse. And assuming it is the real script, who in their right minds would have thought that script would make for a decent let alone good movie?

I mean, I would do a porn if I was a porn actor but I would never do this if I was a mainstream actor. It's just... seriously. Why not do the other way around? there are porns with convoluted and intriguing scripts, there's no need to turn a regular film into that. But hey it's just my opinion and if Shia is confortable with doing that, what the heck, be my guest

So he's basically making a porn from the 70's. Back then they were like actual movies and could be seen in Theaters.
