@ltlredwulf:
"You're right." I needed time to come up with an actual plan anyway but Dallas and Angie were Ruby's "kids" and I would need to respect that decision. There were still too many questions about this world and the lives my friends and allies had taken here could have changed them in ways I could never have anticipated. Precautions had to be taken and plans had to be made for revenge to be mine," I once promised to help train Dallas according to my memories anyway. So I guess its time that I fulfill that promise I can give him a couple of days to at least learn a portion of what I know. But eventually, I have to find some friends to help us which might require some criminal acts on my part" I slowly got off the ground and turn back towards Ruby and held out my hand to help her up,” If your ready it’s probably time we get back to Dallas and Angie.”
We would soon make our way back to Ruby’s apartment and I would stop outside the door,” when we’re ready.” First to wait for the babysitter to leave and then we would have to explain what was going on. Second and most of all when I opened the door and walked inside inside I need to make sure not to step on that damned Ali action figure. I wonder if the Avatar has a sense of humor because the guy who punched me in the face gets his own action figure here. Several minutes later after the babysitter had left it was time to talk to Dallas and Angie,” Kids Ruby and I need to talk to you about something.” When Ruby was ready I would her explain everything that we could to them.
Ruby and Landon were sitting on the couch, and the kids were on the floor. Dallas was holding his action figure, and it seemed to be just a little bit distasteful to Landon. The little part of her that was still Maedra felt a little bit of pleasure that the rest of her consciousness found disturbing. She had to ignore that now, however. Now was not the time for that. Instead, she smiled wearily at the kids. They were both innocents in this equation, people her other self was willing to use, yet somehow still cared for.
"It's... less of a talk. More of a, discussion, you could say." Ruby adjusted in her seat. "Have either of you had any weird dreams or anything lately? Have you been feeling alright?"
Angie looked down at her lap, seeming to be trying to think back. Dallas, meanwhile, focused on Ruby. His empty eyes, which she formerly attributed to a mutation of some sort, revealed instead his demonic heritage. It wasn't a pleasant thought, bringing them out of this world of almost normalcy into the painful reality that was their lives. But, she realized, it was what they would have wanted. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, digging into her other self's knowledge of ancient, dark languages. The tongue she selected would draw heavily on her newfound power, and she doubted she would be able to restore it without a sacrifice. That was alright, though. She didn't want this kind of magic anyway. Angie and Dallas would be able to perform just fine without her interference, and Landon seemed more powerful than her Maedra-self remembered. She took another deep breath, and when she released this one, a low, dark sound erupted from her throat, perhaps imperceptible to human ears, but not to those of a faerie girl and a demon boy. It was an ancient tongue, a language so black that for a moment the air reeked of sulfur, and the room's temperature dropped. It was a language not meant for this perfect world, and it was a language that, if more than one or two words were spoken, could change points in time in such drastic ways that... well, she had to be careful with it. And they would hear it, because their minds were on another place, another time, even if they didn't realize it.
"Isicyl."
Awaken.
Angeline's - Achlys' - eyes widened when the sound touched her ears. Her eyes widened, and she saw fire. Tears began to form, and she looked back down at her lap. Dallas Watermane simply stared from Ruby to Landon, back to Ruby again. His visage darkened, and the Ali figure slipped out of his fingers to the floor.
As for Ruby, she was between mentalities for a moment, struggling against herself in the shadows of her own mind, fighting the urge to call up Maedra's full power to restore her strength. Instead, she slumped back on the couch, and her eyes closed. Exhaustion took hold of her, but before she fell asleep, she felt the presence of the almighty come to earth. The Avatar, while not here, was here. He was among his people, and there was the chance, the ever-so-small chance, that he would come. The chances slimmed further, however, as the speaker of the darktongue fell into sweet unconsciousness as her mortal body recovered the expense of strength it had paid for that one, simple spell.
