Hemomancy
Hemomancy, also known as blood magic, is an advanced and often unholy form of hydrokinetic magic. The wielder of such magic has power over any enemy with blood in their veins, though the power behind the attacks varies with the hemomancer (also known as blood witch or blood druid). On a scale of one to five, Maoli is a three, the only stronger known blood druid being her mistress, Maedra.
Abilities of level 3 druid (from simplest to most complex):
Blood ritual: Drains a victim of all blood over ten seconds, absorbing it into herself to heal and rejuvenate.
Blood druid blades: knives or swords which begin draining the life force of any living thing they cut. Maoli has several throwing knives with this ability, and one long hunting knife by the name Bloodmoon.
Blood pistol: unlike the blades, the gun itself isn't enchanted but rather the powder put into it., which in turn enchants the bullet to have the same properties as blood druid blades. Maoli's is a simple ball-and-powder gun, so it needs to be constantly reloaded and have its gunpowder refreshed.
Blast: fires a projectile of blood from the palm of her sliced hand.
Eruption: tear through the enemy's skin with their own blood.
Bleeding Sword: Uses the blood from her wounds to stab enemies.
Bullwhip: Whips enemy with a thick strand of her blood.
Changing bloods: Shapeshifts into an animal, usually a wolf or panther, but can become anything warm-blooded excluding humans.
Bloodbinding: Connects her life force to that of another through their bloodstream. Various purposes include communication, mind control, and is sometimes even lethal.
Judgment: tears out her enemy's heart and crushes it. She cannot crush pure hearts.
Bio:
Maoli was an orphan who was taken into Maedra's service at a young age to be a companion and servant to the princess. She came to love Maedra like a sister, relying on the princess' strenght to make up for her own weaknesses. She was also the princess' confidant, holder of her secrets, and her connection to the servants' quarters of the castle. Here she met Liath, the werewolf boy taken in by Maedra's stepmother. She sensed a kindred spirit and saw the boy's need for a friend and a kind word and so she took him under her wing and soon fell in love with him. On the night Maedra escaped from the castle, Maoli distracted the guards long enough for her mistress to escape, and was captured. She tried to talk Liath into joining the princess' rebellion and freeing herself, but Liath responded by obeying the queen he served and slowly torturing her. When Maedra returned, Liath cut off his last ties to Maoli by tearing out her heart and using magic to keep her alive long enough to see him eat it. Maoli was dead three years before Maedra found a way to revive her. When Maoli awoke, all the kindness in her heart seemed to be gone. Whether it was death itself, or the trauma she experienced before she died, it had buried the sweet little maid, creating for her a hard shell of pain and anger directed mostly at Liath. The only person she loved anymore was Maedra, whom she followed through her murder sprees and through Templar prisons, and whom she continued to follow through the both the magical and criminal underworlds without question. That is, until she met Landon in Miami. They have an unofficial relationship now.
After the Red and Black event that nearly destroyed New York City, Liath was captured by Maverick, Inc. Maedra went into hiding and Orange Water (Landon's alias) took Dallas Watermane, another ally, home to the ocean.
