Jeez. Why bother rebooting everything if you're still going to have books that suck and get cancelled? The ones that really disappointed me here are the two very awesome characters Static and Terrific. Why did they do such a bad job at making their books?
I always enjoy those moments. Comic writers are masters at writing the mentor/ student and partner-partner relationships but you rarely get to see friends interacting and just having fun together. It's nice to step back every now and then and just have characters having fun. Also Friendship is very Magical.
Contrary to popular belief, DC actually has a better ratio of good movies than Marvel does relative to the number of films they've released. And by good movies I'm talking about any film that has at least a 60% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. I actually looked into this and since 2000, 58% of the movies from DC have met that standard, where only 46% of the films by Marvel have met it. So even though Marvel has alot of good films, they also have alot of bad one's. On top of DK being the best superhero film.
Ugh THANK YOU for finally interrupting this thread with some facts! DC movies do NOT suck, and certainly not more than Marvel movies. And come on, Superman Returns wasn't that much of an abomination, yes, it was definitely marketed wrong (since it wasn't a sequel), had the two most important roles (Clark and Lois) ruined by poor casting and the plot was rather far-fetched (how could a prize-winning reporter be missing for seven years and return at the same Superman does and no one notices? sheesh) but damn if didn't make me feel like a kid all over again watching him catch that plane, life that rock into space and foil Lex's plan for the millionth time. And kudos to Ratner (?) for trying to make a creative effort at resurrecting a franchise that had been nearly dead since all that time.
- If Marvel wants to push certain characters up or down the list, I really don't care, just show the feats to warrant it. I really hate it when they tell you things that are never supported in the books themselves, its lazy.
Interesting - This is some of Kirby's work that I'm not familiar with so I'm glad I could read it all (though I wonder if they couldn't make that a CBR). That said, I didn't really like the art in the book... a little to David Finch if you know what I mean, but meh I'm just being picky.
