Well they all are solidified in their own areas (they each are in their own lanes) so it depends on how you look at it. Considering strength, skill, popularity, etc. I think the first two are almost always Professor X and Jean Grey others fall behind.

3. Emma Frost / Psylocke (people seem to under estimate here until now with Uncanny X-Force; based on the recent power boost I think her and Emma are in the same league).

4. Quentin Quire

5. Stepford Cuckoos / Rachel Grey Summers (Although she is powerful her lack of skill levels her down but she is still very useful; Didn't professor X give her all his knowledge and skill? this should be reckoned).

That's all I can really think of as of now. Keep in mind that these are only X-men members.

I'm a little torn here. However I do think the only person who can judge her can be the Phoenix. But isn't that a contradiction because it burns what doesn't work? I really don't know. But marvel had to reckon Jean Grey when she went phoenix and consumed an entire planet (or something like that), So marvel should do something like that. Oh geez IDK. :(

I'm kind of confused on all the battles so far. Although there have been some confirmed like Magneto vs. Iron Man, Namor vs. Thing, Magik vs. Black Widow, Colossus vs. Red Hulk, and Cyclops/Gambit/Wolverine vs. Captain America.

I know that it was teased that Storm and Thor will battle but in the event Thor will be with the Secret Avengers unless they will fight later on in the event. But I am thinking she will battle someone else. Emma Frost is another character that we haven't heard word on her opponent. Everyone assumed that Psylocke and Black Widow will Duke it out but that have been thrown out the door. So who will fight who or who do you guys want to see?

@CATPANEXE: I agree completely. Having him associated with the phoenix force was and still is a bit random and not in a good way.

My friends and I was in a discussion about Avengers vs. X-men. Some interesting ideas was brought up about Hope being the next Phoenix Host. Someone mentioned how they speculate Scarlet Witch becoming involved with it. They mentioned how Scarlet Witch is a magic user and the phoenix force first took its fiery bird form because of a magic user. So it made me think what if the Scarlet witch became the phoenix host (although we all know that it will be hope)?

But what I am really trying to ask is what X-men character will you guys like to see with the phoenix force? Not someone bland like wolverine, beast, or cyclops. But someone who powers would impose a big threat. Maybe Magneto or Storm perhaps (I am aware of the alternative "Storm-Phoenix" ).

@Gambit1024:You are right. The Jean Grey and Warren Relationship was addressed in X-men Season 1. I forgot to add that some relationships have been addressed or cleared up.

@umbrafeline: You are right the Kitty and Bobby Relationship is a bit fresh. At first I was like no way but if you look at it in a way it could work.

Is it me or do the X-men have so many potential relationships that have yet to be reckoned?

I have just finished reading the Onslaught and the Twelve Story lines (since I am a youngster lol) and saw a mutual yet flirty relationship with Storm and Cable. Now I could have misinterpret it but I felt some kind of fling between the two. But this is not the first time I have seen something like this throughout the X-men. There was also the Psylocke and Cyclops fling plus the Jean Grey and Angel fling. But If these characters had things like this in the past why can't writers produce better character development with these aspects? I am not saying disregard current relationships or character development but I do think reminding this generation of past history with certain characters it can fit to make better stories. Take for example what Remender did with Fantomex and Psylocke from Fractions run on Uncanny X-men. So my question is what other couples have a history that have not been reckoned in recent years? You can feel free to express future or potential match ups as well. (hopefully this thread have not already been created).

Now I am looking forward to the entire Avengers vs. X-men. But so far I am experiencing some little draw backs.

Firstly I am Team X-men all the way but I have to admit I am not sure if they will win. I think they should as they are marvels top recognized team. Besides X-men #1 is recognized as the top selling comic book of all time. They are very popular and take a moment to realize how many films, merchandise, animation shows and more this team have produced just because of their name. But with the big introduction of The Avengers film I have doubt that marvel will shift it in their favor to gain popularity rates equal to the x-men. But putting that all aside I wanted to ask is anyone happy with things so far? First we see that Iron Fist have history with the phoenix for some apparent reason. Then we have little to no involvement so far with Rachel Grey and Professor X (Who both have history with Jean Grey - The Phoenix). While we do have a good showdown with heroes what is the primary goal in the end? I wouldn't be surprised if Wanda found out about how big the phoenix threat is and resurrect Jeans body to solve everything. But having a hero war does little to the situation. People should pay attention to potential host like Kid omega, Rachel, and others including Hope. Wasn't that the goal of the imperial guard in Phoenix: Endsong (Whose involvement has yet to be revealed).

So far certain things should be hinted at but instead we see Iron fist involvement and the avengers vs. the x-men fight. My main purpose is not who wins (although I want the x-men to win :D), I just want a good story. Hopefully you guys agree and I don't come off as ranting. If the story sucks I would be mad but laugh because it would just place Rick Remender on top of five writers that write a huge bad event compared to a writer who wrote a small exceptional arc (which is The Dark Saga).

I think that Hope Summers is pretty much going to be the host in this event. It has been hinted at for the longest. Kid Omega will play the host role sometime in the future (it was hinted in wolverine and the x-men and he even wore a male phoenix-y costume). My guess is that hope will siphon the phoenix abilities (or some omega type ability) by accident some how triggering the real phoenix (shard) to look for a host. I don't know if scarlet witch will be it as most people assume but I don't know. What made me a little mad and worried was finding out Iron Fist having history with the phoenix which I call a total random dose of PIS. Plus the misuse of Rachel grey and Professor X. This is something that should involve them and the imperial guard. Not only that Emma frost made a personal threat at the end of Phoenix: Warsong. But hopefully the story line prove me wrong. Besides I'm still looking forward to the event. :D

Side note: There is only one true host and that is Jean Grey. If they disregard her history, appearance, or involvement of any kind it would make me so mad.

Storm phoenix = Awesome lol in a "What if Storm received the phoenix force instead of Hope Summers?" kind of way.

A few friends and I were discussing character deaths in comics. Although I know that they do not last long and eventually the character will return, but still seeing your favorite character gone for that small time is a bit sad. Now we have an event that is almost here (Avengers vs. X-men). We already have been warned that there will be character(s) death. But who? and really why? I actually though that marvel was planning to do a big resurrecting plan. Which not only repopulate the mutants but revive some characters (night crawler, wasp, jean, etc.). We have seen some in the Selene arc. Now this is just my prediction. As we all know the phoenix is the guardian of life and creation. But something tells me that marvel will either downgrade that power or something between those lines. Besides that outside of AvX we have a character death set for Uncanny X-force - http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=37357. Now I know sometimes it is best for characters death but I think that it is only required when the story demands it. So what do you guys think? Who would you like to see axed out and why? What are your predictions for the characters who may die in this big event. Mine are quite obvious... Cyclops because his death will create good stories and painful dynamics with the main question being who will lead the mutants? Hope - do I need to say more (she is almost destine to fit here). But I have a feeling that Emma, Storm (though I really love them) Beast, or the Scarlet her self may be at risk. My feelings are mostly right (6/10 lol).
