I like a lot of these ladies but I guess of this vast list of characters I really like Layla Miller, she knows things. Of all the characters in Peter Davids long running X-Factor, Layla had the most character development becoming a really interesting character. They revealed some of the mysteries about the character but still kept some things back. I know she is on Marvels back burner right now but I am looking forward to seeing more things with her in it.

I am a fan of all four though Mystique is a distant 4th. I really love all the character development Magik has got in the last few years and I hope to see her develop even more.

I am a long time fan of Dazzler and I hope this means she can finally shead the disco image and really show how great she can be. I have said this before she needs a good writer to champion her and reshape her a bit for current times. The new art image looks like a punk rock Dazzler with some anger and rage issues. Not quite in love with the image but am willing to see where the story goes.

The writers have not made Icemen too powerful. Iceman has suffered from chronically inconsistent writing over the years. Yes he potentially is amone the most powerful beings on Earth but that power is almost never portrayed evenly. For a great example of just how powerful he can be check out issuws 62-65 of Astonishing X-Men. Bobby was poessed by some dark force and nearly sent the world into a new ice age.

Another problem I have noticed and this is more of a Marvel issue. Many of the X-Men can't seem to get the maximum out of their powers while other super powered beings like the Avengers, Fantastic Four and others seem to be able to use their powers to their maximum potential without any artifical handicaps. I know from the way the Marvel Universe is set up is that mutant powers by their very nature are unstable and can be inconsistent. This does seem to have become much more pronounced in recient years. Personally I think Marvel is playing up the Avengers as 'Earthgs Mightest Heroes' a bit too much. I don't expect this to change as long a Marvel Comics biggest source of revenue is movies and they do not have the rights to the X-Men, the Avengers will continue to get the edge for fear of upsetting the Avengers box office gravy train.

The only way I want to see the Acolytes return would be following Magneto. They just never really seemed to get much traction under Exodus. Also if Magneto is going to become a Marvel big bad again I hope he gets his full powers back. While this moment of character exploration where he is at low power has been interesting I want a Magneto that can take on the X-Men or the Avengers by himself. Another thing I think it would be cool if the Acolytes do return that they not necessarlty be in opposition to X-Men but instead dedicate their fight to the true enemies of mutants, the Church of Humanity, the Purifiers, the people/corporations that make sentinels and so on. I am sure from time to time they will come into conflict with with the Avengers and/or X-Men but they would not necessarily be a dedicated enemy. I think if the mutant population is going to expand there need to be more than justthe Cyclops and Wolverine influences.

Wolverine dieing, well I guess it had to happen eventually, and I am sure Marvel will milk it for all its worth. I just hope that when and hopefully it is a while from now when he does come back, that character is not divided between so many titles. I have always felt with the sheer amount of titles that he is in that they can never be a clear and concise voice for the character because there are so many different writers trying to put their own unique spin on the character.

I wouldn't change her name. Maybe I'd upgrade her powers a bit. Make it so she can travel at lightspeed and of course make it so she would be a bit weakened and in need of a bit of a recharge when this happened. I would also have be able to turn into a being of light and phase through objects and she could use lasers or light daggers similar to how Dagger does.

I dont think her powers need an upgrade. If you look at the full range of powers she has available to her they are quite powerful. The problem has been the inconsistent writing. What she needs a writer to champion her and really take the character in hand and make something of her rather than the disjointed stuff we have been getting.

Interesting. I have been an advocate of Scott and Emma getting married for some time and having a family but Marvel is too gun shy on pulling the trigger on that so like many future visions of Scott and Emma together in the future that is all this is likely to be, a potential future. They will use the typical execuse they do not want to tie the characters down with relationships and families so in the future when other writers take over they will not have to wrap their head around the family dynamic and just focus on the regular comic book activities. I happen to think this is a lazy way of looking at things and lets characters and titles stagnate, but no one is asking me.

Going by the sales they generate tie big crossover events do boost sales for the published. Problem is that this is often at the expense of the individual titles ongoing story. I really do not like it when a story I have been enjoying gets disrupted for months in some cases for an event/crossover that increasingly drag along far too long. I know this has become an industry standard but I am not looking forward to the next 'Infinite Crisis of Forever Blackest Days' or some such title.
